France rejecting antiterrorism cooperation - Moscow

Police in Paris
Paris has cut off counterterrorism collaboration with Moscow just months before the Olympic Games, Russian Ambassador Aleksey Meshkov said on Sunday in an interview with the French weekly Le Journal du Dimanche.

His remarks came two weeks after more than 140 people were killed during a terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue outside Moscow. France, which will host the summer Olympics in July and August, raised the terrorism alert and ramped up security in Paris following the massacre.

Meshkov said the two countries have historically worked together to fight terrorism, but "recently France has cut off all communication in this field. The facts are undeniable: today, France offers significant support to Ukraine in terms of information exchange, while Ukraine carries out terrorist activities in Russia."

Comment: France has been behaving most strangely recently and despite all the problems which France faces domestically, it seems to be happy to distract such issues by picking a fight outside of its borders.

An alternative Crocus City Hall terrorist attack hypothesis

Crocus City Hall
That Ukraine participated in some way in Moscow's Crocus City Hall was always plausible, though hardly a certainty. US involvement seemed to me a little far-fetched, putting aside just how out of touch and desperate Washington and Brussels are in general and particularly as Ukraine's eastern fronts collapse increasingly more rapidly and the northern and southern fronts continue to more slowly be pushed west. I began to consider whether or not there might be alternative ways in which the US government or elements thereof could have been involved in the Crocus attack besides the more difficult to imagine direct matter-of-policy generation, organisation, planning, and direction of any Ukrainians and/or ISIS proxies who might have been involved.

Looking at the time line suggests a different, if hypothetical scenario.

Comment:

1) Perhaps the retirement of Victoria Nuland was due to health reasons. Apart from ageing, she might have lost health since she handed out cookies in Ukraine around 2014. If that is the case, spinning stories around her departure giving other reasons could become a wild goose chase, without excluding the possibility that using this explanation as a prop in another explanation may serendipitously lead to correct ideas.

2) It is often helpful to review what has already been published and suggested, when considering alternative explanations. Below is a list of articles found by searching for articles that either include Crocus in the title or the summary. The older articles are last. 3) ISIS-Khorosan
From the article:
US government-tied media reports within little more than an hour that the Crocus City Hall attack was carried out exclusively by ISIS-Khorosan
Khorosan is in Central Asia, the Wiki has:
Greater Khorāsān[2] or Khorāsān or Khurāsān [...] is a historical eastern region in the Iranian Plateau between West and Central Asia that encompasses western Afghanistan, northeastern Iran, the eastern halves of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, western Tajikistan, and portions of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
About this region one finds these article, the oldest first:
Central Asia has traditionally been regarded by Washington as "Russia's soft underbelly", since it's a common belief within American think tanks that by establishing control over this region the US will be capable of subjecting the whole of Eurasia to its will, which means that American hegemony should remain uncontested.
Given the above situation in Central Asia, when US media within and hour frame ISIS-Khorosan, what are the implications?

The Crocus as a symbol
Taking a different perspective, the Crocus is in northern latitudes a flower associated with the beginning of Spring, the departure of Winter. There could be a symbolic component to killing and burning at the Crocus City Hall. If that view is dark, there is another, since Saffron, which comes from the Crocus plant is a well known herbal medicine. In Saffron: Very expensive but highly therapeutic, one finds:
While the crocus (Crocus sativus) is loved and appreciated as a colorful harbinger of spring, its mythic fame and power come from its vibrant saffron fronds or threads.
[...]
Documents going back to Hippocrates reveal the use of saffron as a treatment in more than 90 illnesses over 4,000 years. During the Black Death demand for medicinal saffron skyrocketed. This exotic spice has been used for coughs, colds, stomach ailments, insomnia, uterine bleeding, scarlet fever, heart trouble, and flatulence.

Is it all just myth?

No. Modern research backs up the wisdom of the ancients. Saffron has been shown to modulate at least 22 biological pathways. Here are just a few of the proven curative benefits of saffron.
Another article, Saffron Could Save Your Eyesight has:
A recent study conducted by researchers from both Sydney University and the University of L'Aquila in Italy have found that saffron, one of the world's most valuable spices, helps to protect eyes from being damaged by harmful UV rays. The herb also helps to slow the progression of eye diseases like macular degeneration, which causes blindness.

Collected by hand from the deep red stamens of the saffron crocus, the saffron spice is worth up to $800 per pound depending on its quality. It is used in a variety of applications including as a food spice, a coloring agent, and a treatment for disease. Some 90 illnesses, and counting, can be treated with saffron.
It seems that there is more to the Crocus City Hall attack than meets the eye. The lessons that can be learned may eventually save.

'Take no NATO prisoners' - Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev

Bounties should be offered for the killing of NATO soldiers if they are deployed to Ukraine to fight against Russian troops, former President Dmitry Medvedev said on Thursday.

In a post on social media, Medvedev lashed out at Kiev's Western backers, arguing that they are "taking the world for fools" if they believe that sending foreign forces to Ukraine would not lead to a dangerous escalation. If NATO soldiers do end up in Ukraine, they will not be limited to non-combat roles, he claimed.

"They will become part of the regular forces that are fighting against us. That is why they will have to be treated only as the enemy," Medvedev, who currently serves as deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, wrote. "We should take no prisoners! The highest rewards must be given out for every killed NATO soldier."

Russian businessmen and activists have previously set bounties for the destruction of Western-made tanks in Ukraine.

Getting out of Dodge? Israel withdraws all ground troops from southern Gaza, leaves one IDF brigade in enclave

Fear still remains Israel will launch bloody offensive on Rafah despite Western outcry over soaring civilian death toll

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netahyahu has vowed 'there will be no ceasefire without the return of hostages' in an address marking six months since the conflict in Gaza began, as delegations meet in Cairo to discuss possible peace terms.

'We are one step away from victory. But the price we paid is painful and heartbreaking,' he said in a cabinet address on Sunday, reiterating that the beleaguered Gaza Strip cannot expect an end to the hostilities without the return of captives held since October 7.

'It just won't happen,' he said resolutely, adding that while 'Israel is ready for a deal', 'Israel is not ready to surrender'.

It came the Israel Defense Forces announced they had withdrawn all ground troops from the southern Gaza Strip in order to 'recuperate and prepare for future operations'.

WCK founder says Israel methodically targeted Gaza aid convoy 'car by car'

Jose Andres has dismissed the IDF's claim that the deadly attack on the World Central Kitchen aid workers was a 'mistake'

The Israeli attack that killed seven aid workers from the World Central Kitchen (WCK) charity group in Gaza was not a mistake, as the convoy was targeted "systematically, car by car," the group's founder and celebrity chef Jose Andres told Reuters on Wednesday.

Three Britons, a Polish national, an Australian, a Palestinian, and a dual US-Canadian citizen were killed in the incident, which has sparked international condemnation.

Israel's military, the IDF, knew the aid convoy's movements as there had been clear communication between the WCK and IDF, Andres said.

The looming Ukraine debacle

There is indeed a serious risk that, rather than the West teaching Russia a lesson and putting Putin in his place, the opposite may occur.

With Ukraine's military situation deteriorating, NATO foreign ministers have gathered in Brussels to develop a long-term plan to deliver the necessary supplies to Kyiv. As NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg put it, "Ukrainians are not running out of courage, they are running out of ammunition." Distracted by other matters, America increasingly looks to Europe to coordinate the defense of Ukraine. But, other than scrambling for shells and money or unveiling a modest EU defense industry strategy, European leaders do not appear to have the ideas or the means to intervene in a decisive or timely fashion.

French president Emmanuel Macron's suggestion that NATO troops may enter Ukraine was supported by Poland and Czechia but caused some consternation in France itself. More importantly, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States still rule out boots on the ground. Instead of a new approach, the old pattern continues: NATO mulls over how to help Ukraine without provoking open war with Russia and fails, in the end, to deliver the kind of decisive assistance needed to turn the course of the war.

Musk lifts restrictions on X accounts in Brazil despite country's 'fake news' court orders

Billionaire Elon Musk said he will lift restrictions imposed on some X accounts in Brazil, even if the move leads to the closing of the social media platform in the country.

X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, said in a post late Saturday that court decisions "forced" the site to block "certain popular accounts" in Brazil, without specifying the reasons or which posts allegedly violated the law. Shortly after, Musk wrote on the platform that he was defying the court's ruling.

"We are lifting all restrictions. This judge has applied massive fines, threatened to arrest our employees and cut off access to X in Brazil," Musk said in a social media post. He added that the move would probably cause X to lose all its revenue in the country and shut its office there.

Comment: Commentary and updates on the story:

BRAZIL IS ON THE BRINK

I'm reporting to you from Brazil, where a dramatic series of events are underway.

At 5:52 pm Eastern Time, today, April 6, 2024, X corporation, formerly known as Twitter, announced that a Brazilian court had forced it to "block certain popular accounts in Brazil."

Then, less than one hour later, the owner of X, @ElonMusk announced that X would defy the court's order, and lift all restrictions.

"As a result," said Musk, "we will probably lose all revenue in Brazil and have to shut down our office there. But principles matter more than profit."

At any moment, Brazil's Supreme Court could shut off all access to X/Twitter for the people of Brazil.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Brazil is on the brink of dictatorship at the hands of a totalitarian Supreme Court Justice named Alexandre de Moraes.

President Lula da Silva is participating in the push toward totalitarianism. Since taking office, Lula has massively increased government funding of the mainstream news media, most of which are encouraging increased censorship.

What Lula and de Moraes are doing is an outrageous violation of Brazil's constitution and the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

At this moment, Brazil is not yet a dictatorship. It still has elections and the Brazilian people have other means at their disposal to confront authoritarianism.

But the Federal Supreme Court and the Superior Electoral Court are directly interfere in those elections through censorship.

Three days ago I published the Twitter Files for Brazil. They show that Moraes has violated the Brazilian Constitution. Moraes illegally demanded that Twitter reveal private information about Twitter users who used hashtags he considered inappropriate. He demanded access to Twitter's internal data, violating the platform's policy. He censored, on his own initiative and without any respect for due process, posts on Twitter by parliamentarians from the Brazilian Congress. And Moraes tried to turn Twitter's content moderation policies into a weapon against supporters of then-president Jair Bolsonaro.

I say this as an independent and non-partisan journalist. I'm not a fan of either Bolsonaro or Trump. My political views are very moderate. But I know censorship when I see it.

The Twitter Files also revealed that Google, Facebook, Uber, WhatsApp and Instagram betrayed the people of Brazil. If such evidence is proven, the executives of these companies behaved like cowards: they provided the Brazilian government with personal registration data and telephone numbers without a court order and, therefore, violating the law.

When Twitter refused to provide Brazilian authorities with private user information, including direct messages, the government attempted to sue Twitter's top Brazilian lawyer.

When I lived in Brazil in 1992, I was very left-wing. At the time, Lula and the PT's slogans were "Without fear of being happy".

In recent days, I have spoken to dozens of Brazilians, including professors, journalists and respected lawyers. Everyone tells me they are shocked by what is happening. They told me that they are afraid to speak their mind and that the Lula government is complicit in creating this climate of fear.

Brazil belongs to the Brazilians. It is not my country. As such, there are limits to what I am capable of doing.

But I can say things that many Brazilians do not feel safe saying: Alexandre de Moraes is a tyrant. And the only way to deal with tyrants is to confront them. It is up to Brazil's senators to confront the tyrant. And it is up to the people of Brazil to demand that their senators do so.

America Is Hurtling Toward a Full Blown Hot Civil War

Burning American flag
It never ceases to amaze me at how little so many people in this country have done to train their minds to critically analyze information. They have eyes to see and ears to see, and yet, somehow the truth of any major issue still seems to evade them, or they simply refuse to recognize the truth with it standing right in front of them, slapping them in the face.

So many things are currently plumb damned fouled up by this Biden regime and going awry on their own through the dynamics set in motion by this anti-American, lawless regime, that it's nearly impossible to properly address them all in a single commentary. But I've tried to give the Reader as comprehensive an assessment as I possibly can with this piece.

Michael Savage, a longtime renown radio host, was fond of noting that "liberalism is a mental disorder" and we're witnessing the result of its heavy utilization for far too many years without being grounded in common sense and a certain amount of pragmatic realism. And so here we are, on the cusp of the final fall of America, short of a miracle from God or true patriots taking a firm stand with rifles in hand and refusing to give an inch of ground and any further movement towards the new world order desired by our amerikkan commies.

It might sound quaint and out of touch with what some have now accepted as "the new normal", but I say we should all wrap ourselves in the American Flag and send out the clarion call for a rush of strong, capable men to come to the aid of their country, in a manner as never before.

China's Ukraine peace proposal most 'reasonable' - Lavrov

Sergey Lavrov
© Sputnik / Russian Foreign MinistryFILE PHOTO: Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
China's plan to resolve the Ukraine crisis remains one of the most viable options on the table, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Lavrov hailed the 12-point initiative first proposed by Beijing in February 2023 on the first anniversary of the conflict. The plan includes a call for a cessation of hostilities, the resumption of peace talks, abandoning a "Cold War mentality," and respecting the sovereignty of all nations.

Lavrov described China's proposal as the "most clear" compilation of principles and approaches on the matter, noting that all of its points are intertwined. "The most important thing for us is that the Chinese document is based on an analysis of the reasons for current events and [seeks] to eliminate [their] root causes," the foreign minister said.

Lavrov acknowledged that the proposal has received criticism for being "vague," but added that it nonetheless "is a reasonable plan that the great Chinese civilization has put up for discussion."

Why is NATO's, Neo-Nazi junta's cover-up for terrorist attacks in Russia so sloppy?
However, the question is - why is it all so sloppy and too obvious? If analysts and journalists noticed all this so easily, Russian intelligence and state services certainly know far more. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently pointed out this hypocrisy, referring to the offer by so-called "international institutions" to supposedly "help" with the investigation regarding the latest terrorist attack, but ignored similar Russian requests regarding the Nord Stream sabotage. It should be noted that this terrorist attack was also previously announced by the US, which pledged to ensure that the pipeline becomes "a hunk of metal at the bottom of the sea". In other words, the true terrorists aren't even bothering to hide anymore (and haven't been for quite some time now).
All this clearly indicates that NATO wants war with Russia. It recently sent French President Emmanuel Macron to test this with pompous announcements of direct involvement. However, as most of Europe said it won't take part in this madness, NATO now needs a way to push Russia to attack first. The only way to do so is to provoke a reaction, which is why the world's most aggressive military cartel organized the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall. In that way, NATO is pushing Russia to retaliate and then present it as the "aggressor", giving the political West a perfect pretext to wage a "defensive war". That's the only way to ensure the participation of the entire (or at least most of) NATO. However, once the Pandora's Box is opened, there won't be going back.
It is to be seen if we will have more war or more peace.

Ukraine-skeptic politician wins Slovakian presidential election

Slovakian President Pellegrini
Peter Pellegrini was elected to serve as the next president of Slovakia on Saturday, beating ex-Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok. Pellegrini is a close ally of Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is a staunch opponent of sending weapons to Ukraine.

With nearly 100% of the ballots counted, Pellegrini is leading with 53.17% of the votes, according to the official tally.

Korcok has conceded the loss. "I am genuinely disappointed, to be honest," he said shortly after the results were announced. "But because I am an athlete at heart, I respect the results. It was a celebration of democracy."

Outgoing President Zuzana Caputova congratulated Pellegrini, wishing him success in office. "It is important that, from the moment of the election, the new president acts in such a way that no part of society will feel defeated," she said.

Pellegrini served as prime minister between 2018 and 2020 and is currently the speaker of Slovakia's parliament. He is allied with Fico, who has reversed the previous government's decision to send military aid to Ukraine.

Comment: Good to see signs of resistance from the people against the rule from Brussels and NATO.
