Denmark fires defence chief, withdraws frigate from Red Sea operation, over ship's dangerous 'technical issues'

© Source: Nick / Forsvaret / Danish Defence ForcesIver Huitfeldt on station in the Red Sea. The Danish contribution to Operation Prosperity Guardian in the Red Sea has been cut short by approximately two weeks, following issues with the air defences aboard the frigate HDMS Iver Huitfeldt during an engagement of a group of 15 Houthi drones on March 9.
Defence news site OLFI was first to report on the issues, which included the frigate being unable to use its ESSM air defence missiles during half an hour, as well as "up to half" of the rounds fired from the twin 76 mm guns detonating too early and close to the ship. Despite these issues, the frigate managed to down four of the incoming drones, with the rest being handled by other vessels. Following a 30 minute reboot of the air defence system, the ESSM was back on line and three missiles as well as 50-100 rounds of 76 mm ammunition was eventually used to bring down the four drones during the engagement which in total lasted about an hour.

The Danish Ministry of Defence has stated, on April 3, that General Flemming Lentfer - ironically with a background in the air defences and the Danish HAWK-batteries - has been relieved from his position as Chief of Defence, effective immediately. Major-general Michael Hyldgaard is taking over as acting ChoD, he in turn comes from a position as head of the Danish special forces.

Best of the Web: How do Iranians 'boil a frog'? Slowly and methodically

iran boil frog israel
© The CradleIran's apparent restraint in the face of Israeli aggression should not be mistaken for weakness. Tehran steadily applies pressure on Tel Aviv through its own methods, setting the stage carefully for Israel's unravelling.
A strategy in asymmetrical warfare is expressed by the "boiling frog" theory:
Legend has it that a frog placed in a shallow pot of water heating on a stove will remain happily in the pot of water as the temperature continues to climb, and will not jump out even as the water slowly reaches the boiling point and kills the frog. The change of one degree of temperature at a time is so gradual that the frog doesn't realize he is being boiled until it is too late.
While the story is an apologue - a pretty fable meant to convey a meaningful lesson - it is one frequently invoked by militaries and geopoliticians to describe the "long game" of reaching strategic objectives.

Today, it is Iran and its regional allies who are using a measured approach to increase temperatures in West Asia until the water boils the US and Israeli 'frogs' to death. Strategy, discipline, and rare patience - the antithesis of western short-termism - will bring Iran victory. To quote the Taliban: "Americans have watches, but we have the time."

Timofey Bordachev: Serbia - The West hates this small country almost as much as Russia. Here's why

Serbia and Russia
The EU and US are strangling the Balkan country because they believe it's too similar to Russia

Modern international politics, as practiced by Western countries, sometimes take on a completely absurd character. Recently, the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) approved the membership of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo in the Council of Europe. Let us remember that we are talking about a territory that is not a state recognized by all members of the international community, including many of PACE's own participants. Additionally, its leaders are rightly suspected of cross-border criminal activity of the worst kind.

But should we be surprised?

It has long been no secret that all the so-called pan-European organizations have effectively become instruments of the United States and the European Union, whose sole purpose is to promote some of their policies towards the rest of the world. It can be security, in which case the OSCE is involved, or human rights, for which the Council of Europe is used. Even environmental policy is in the hands of the West - that, too, is a purely political story.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier described deaths of seven humanitarian workers as "tragic" and "unintentional"

Israel fired missiles on three separate occasions at an aid convoy in Gaza on Monday, killing all involved, because of a suspicion that a Hamas operative was traveling with the group, Haaretz has reported, citing defense sources.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that an IDF strike had killed seven humanitarian workers in the Palestinian enclave, saying its forces had "unintentionally hit innocent people" in a "tragic" incident.

US Marines are learning how to battle adversaries like China on remote islands in response to rising tensions in the Pacific, a report says.

The troops are training to fight across the challenging landscape after 20 years of fighting on land in the Middle East, according to The Washington Post.

A US Navy admiral recently described to the US Armed Services House Committee the growing threat from China

US Navy Adm. John Aquilino. said its military build-up was on a 'scale not seen since WWII' and Beijing was on track to be able to invade Taiwan by 2027.

Comment: With all the these references of WWII, one gets the impression they're trying to tell us something: US admiral says Red Sea is largest battle Navy fought since World War II

Comment: Actually, since 2018, the result of these wargames show the US losing more often than not:
The pre-2018 wargames tended to end favorably for the US, Taiwan, and allies, although at great cost. Between 2018 and February 2022, things grew bleak for the US and Taiwan as it scored only one victory, four losses, and two stalemates.

Best of the Web: France preparing deployment of 1,500 Foreign Legion to Ukraine in April — Russia

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova
© Sergey Guneev; RIA NovostiFILE: Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. Maria Zakharova also said the Kiev regime "continues to cleanse the media space and introduce total censorship in the country".
France could bring about 1,500 servicemen to combat readiness in April for deployment to Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"New information is emerging about the preparation by Paris of a military contingent to be sent to Ukraine. To this end, the command of the French Foreign Legion in early March approved the makeup of a battalion tactical group of about 1,500 people," she said at a news conference. "It is expected that in April the group will be brought to full combat readiness for an operational deployment to the Ukrainian theater of military operations."

"Meanwhile, the French continue thy [sic] part of their history, which in general should be consigned to oblivion: the business of their ancestors, who were engaged in the secret export from Ukraine of cultural treasures, including ancient Byzantine icons, for their alleged, as they phrase it, preservation in France," the diplomat said.

Comment: Interesting that Zakharova should mention icons: Explosives hidden in religious icons traveled by truck through Europe, Ukraine, found by Russia's customs officers

Zakharova's announcement:

Comment: Notably, the Kiev-junta just warned that, in the next few months, they intend to attempt another terrorist attack on the Kerch bridge in Crimea. Furthermore, it's likely that the German military, who, just a few weeks ago, was exposed conspiring to do just that, will be able to provide them with some kind of assistance.

It also wouldn't be the first time that France had sent meat for the grinder: Russia releases names of French mercenaries in Ukraine, includes son of a General of France's Armed Forces

🇫🇷🇺🇦 FRANCE - UKRAINE

The French Foreign Legion getting ready to deploy in Ukraine - Documentary Eng subtitles.

According to http://Southfront.press, one of the best media on contemporary conflicts, French military leaders have already begun training combat units to send to the Ukrainian front.

At the end of February, President Macron instructed the Ministry of the Armed Forces to study the question of sending French Foreign Legion forces to Ukraine.

On February 27, 2024, by order of the Legion command, the formation of three companies of Legion fighters began.

On March 5, 2024, the French military command and Legion command approved the personnel numbers of the battalion tactical group, which is expected to include 1,500 military personnel. This battalion tactical group contains three Legion companies, which were assigned for this purpose in advance.

These are :

- a material support company;
- two engineering companies.
- The battalion tactical group should also include: up to 6 companies of motorized and armored infantry as well as the operational team.

The French command failed to assure the number of declared personnel of the battalion tactical group to the members of the Legion.

The assumed ratio of members of the Foreign Legion to regular military personnel of the Ministry of the Armed Forces in the battalion tactical group is approximately 1:2.

During the first half of March, the battalion tactical group began combat coordination at the Courtine training camp in the "Creuse" region of France.

March 8 to 14, 2024, the 2nd regiment of the Foreign Legion based in Nîmes was reported preparing for a large-scale exercise throughout the "Creuse" region of France. 800 legionnaires and their 120 vehicles were trained in the countryside and the streets of the quiet town of "Guéret" including 40 armoured vehicles.

The staff was tasked with completing combat coordination by mid-April. Personnel should wait for the order and be ready to be sent to the front in Ukraine.

The deployment of the group to Ukraine could take place in the second half of April as suggested by the Russian MFA press secretary Mari Zakharova

Biden sinks to new lows over Moscow bombing and RussiaGate fake news

biden zelensky

Biden's breath-taking stupidity in Ukraine is finally going to expose NATO for what it is: a paper tiger.

Are we all preparing for the inevitable? Trump returning to the White House? It would seem that certainly the Biden administration is doing just that given recent events. Moscow's terror attack has taken centre stage of world news in recent days yet not one western journalist seems able to call out the ISIS warning from the U.S. for what it was: sham.

And not only the warning was disingenuous but the sheer bad taste vitriol of Washington which was on a level only matched by the suspicious outright and swift rejection that Kiev had no part in the attack.

Bad taste seems to be the hallmark of the Biden administration with a failed foreign policy which trails in second place. If Americans didn't know before that the U.S. could not control two proxy wars on two separate fronts, now they know. As the aid parcels which drop onto Palestinians - sometimes even killing them - makes a statement in itself, it's interesting to see how Biden is always looking in the past in almost everything he does.

Even RussiaGate has been dragged out of its dank grave and had new life breathed into it by Biden's press people who are now preparing the American public for a Biden failure in December. The biggest fear for Biden is the "hack and leak" attack which pushed many democrats over a line with Hillary Clinton when her emails revealed what an utterly morose political figure she is. Who could forget that "there are terrorists there [in Syria] but they're on our side" comment when talking about the early days of the Syrian crisis which started in 2011?

Best of the Web: Ukraine (ahem, the CIA and MI6) threatens another terrorist attack on Crimea's Kerch bridge

Comment: Luke Harding is a British intelligence agent masquerading as a journalist, so keep that in mind as he explains to you why it's 'inevitable' that Europe's longest bridge 'must be destroyed' to 'avenge Ukraine'...

Kerch Bridge

They have become a familiar sight in the skies above parts of Russia: long-range enemy drones, buzzing their way to another target. In the biggest Ukrainian onslaught inside Russian territory since Vladimir Putin's full-scale invasion two years ago, Ukraine has in recent weeks carried out a series of attacks on Russian oil refineries and ports. On Tuesday, it hit a refinery and drone factory in the industrial region of Tatarstan - more than 800 miles from the border.

The Ukrainian spy agency behind these drone strikes has its eyes on another target: the 12-mile long Kerch bridge connecting occupied Crimea with Russia. Senior officials from Ukraine's HUR military intelligence service indicate it is plotting a third attempt on the bridge, after two previous attempts to blow it up, claiming its destruction is "inevitable".

Russian intelligence official: 'US shielding itself by whitewashing Kiev role in Moscow terror attack'

Comment: We're this close to Russia 'busting it wide open' - the entire War on Terror era being the handiwork of Anglo-American-Zionist intelligence...

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev.

Evidence suggests that the Ukrainian government was behind last month's concert hall massacre in Russia, a senior official has claimed.

The US refuses to allow any discussion of potential Ukrainian involvement in last month's terrorist attack near Moscow because Washington is ultimately accountable for Kiev's actions, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev, has insisted.

The US government has claimed that all evidence points to an Afghanistan-based offshoot of the terrorist group Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) as the mastermind behind the Crocus City Hall massacre on March 22. Any Russian suggestions to the contrary are "nonsense and propaganda," White House National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby claimed last week.

Comment: The Russian government has also sent formal requests to the judiciaries of the US, France, Germany and Cyprus for answers to questions it has about possible links between elements in their countries to the Moscow terror attack:
The Prosecutor General's Office has expressed hope that authorities in the four countries would comply with Moscow's request and "fulfill the obligations assigned to them" under certain international conventions.

These include the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism of 1999 and the International Convention for the Suppression of Terrorist Bombings of 1997.
By the way, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has refuted US government claims that it 'warned the Russian government' about the Moscow terror attack:
"I would really like to receive factual material on this topic from the American side. That is, to whom and when did they give this information?" she added.

Dmitry Trenin: Russia is undergoing a new, invisible revolution

Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Grand Kremlin Palace, in Moscow, Russia
© Grigory Sysoev / SputnikRussian President Vladimir Putin delivers a speech during a meeting with election campaign workers at the Grand Kremlin Palace, in Moscow, Russia.
The US-led bloc has pushed the country to develop a new awareness of itself and its place in the world.

When President Vladimir Putin, back in February 2022, launched Russia's military operation in Ukraine, he had specific, but limited objectives in mind. It was essentially about assuring Russia's security vis-à-vis NATO.

However, the drastic, expansive and well-coordinated Western reaction to Moscow's moves - the torpedoing of the Russo-Ukrainian peace deal and the mounting escalation of the US-led bloc's involvement in the conflict, including its role in deadly attacks inside Russia - have fundamentally changed our country's attitude towards our former partners.

We no longer hear talk about "grievances" and complaints about "failures in understanding." The last two years have produced nothing less than a revolution in Moscow's foreign policy, more radical and far-reaching than anything anticipated on the eve of the Ukraine intervention. Over the past 25 months, it has been quickly gaining in strength and profundity. Russia's international role, its position in the world, its goals and methods of reaching them, its basic worldview - all are changing.
