Puppet Masters
On Monday, The Intercept published the first three months' worth of SIDtoday, the NSA newsletter named after the Signals Intelligence Directorate (SID). The first release contains 166 documents from 2003, and will run until the publication of the most recent issues in its Snowden Archive, the trove of documents collected by the former NSA contractor, which are dated through 2012.
SIDtoday contained revelations that NSA worked alongside other government agencies on interrogating prisoners at the Guantánamo Bay detention camp in Cuba, including formulating the questions and interrogation strategies.
An October 2003 article advertised the opportunity to "get to GITMO for 90 days." It described the duties of the NSA liaison at Guantanamo as coordinating with the "[Department of Defense], CIA, and FBI interrogators on a daily basis in order to assess and exploit information sourced from detainees," as well as providing "sensitive NSA-collected technical data" to help the interrogation efforts.
During a week at the base, one NSA liaison reported in the newsletter, he would "pull together intelligence to support an upcoming interrogation, formulate questions and strategies for the interrogation, and observe or participate in the interrogation." The NSA declined to comment on that story, The Intercept noted.
"This weekend was probably the worst since spring break,'' said the rep, whose airline was forced to put out about 100 cots for stranded customers. "Our concern is the summer, which is spring break every day from June till September.'' A federal source blamed the nightmare weekend on the Transportation Security Administration's long-standing issues of too little manpower combined with a seasonal surge in air traffic. "All major hubs are sitting ducks for outrageous lines at any given moment in time,'' the source warned.
Travelers were advised to arrive at least two hours early for domestic flights and three hours ahead for international take-offs — but fliers griped that even that wasn't enough for them to get through security in time. The lines were so long at one terminal that American Airlines workers had to remove some kiosks just to make room for the throngs.
"People were breathing heavy and freaking out,'' said Chicago resident Christina Jack, 54, who arrived from O'Hare into LaGuardia Airport in Queens on Monday. "There was a gentleman near me who started panicking and yelling, 'I'm going to miss my flight! I'm going to miss my flight!' They pulled him out and put him right up at the front of the short line. I was lucky, I missed the early-morning rush,'' she said, noting that it took her "just'' a little more than two hours to wade through security.
American and other airlines say they are hiring extra workers to do whatever they can to move things along themselves, such as using employees to run empty metal-detector bins back up to thefront of the line. The federal source said airports' wait time "depends on the changing demand of flights on any given day in these hubs. They include LaGuardia, JFK and Newark airports, which the TSA admitted last week all had increased wait times since last year. A total of around 4,000 American passengers have already missed their flights because of TSA delays since February, including 800 in the past week alone, the airline said.
Comment: US travelers take heed. We are dealing with the government here and you know how that goes: If it was bad it will get worse. Some of this is incompetence; the rest is a way to irk the public into wanting something to change...and that change will be dictated by the PTB for a specific purpose. Time will tell. We shall see.
The objective of this assault is to roll back the leftist current inspired by Hugo Chavez when he came to office in Venezuela in 1998. Of indigenous heritage himself, Chavez survived a coup attempt in 2002 that was supported by the US. His sudden death in March 2013 came after a two-year battle with cancer and ever since questions over whether the cancer that killed him was naturally occurring or was the result of poisoning haven't gone away.
Prior to Chavez's death, President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras was ousted by the Honduran military and sent into exile in 2009. In 2012, Paraguayan President, Fernando Lugo, was forced out of office when the country's senate initiated impeachment proceedings. Ecuadorean President, Rafael Correa, has already survived one coup attempt by his country's military in 2010 and the situation within Ecuador remains tense. Meanwhile, since Chavez's death, Argentina's former president, Cristina Kirchner, has been indicted by the country's federal court on a charge of defrauding the state during her time in office. Finally, and most recently, Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff has been suspended from office pending a trial on the charge of manipulating the budget - proceedings which Rousseff and her supporters have labeled a coup.
Comment: The pattern, uninterrupted, reveals the intent.
What each of the aforementioned leaders have in common is that they supported Hugo Chavez's vision of a continent free of US political and economic domination, and had and have sought to redistribute wealth and resources to the poor, especially the subcontinent's indigenous peoples who for generations have been marginalized, left to wallow in poverty and regarded as second, even third class citizens.
Comment: The US wants to be "the last bastion standing" and, to do so, covertly orchestrates chaos by any means and any cost to achieve this result - be it human rights violations, political coup, fomenting corruption, financial manipulation or human sacrifice. Every country it wants to turn has a unique and exploitable set of factors, a 'leverage signature,' to ensure its bondage. The idea, that Venezuela is a threat to the national security and foreign policy of the US, is at minimum a gross distortion and at most a poke in the eye. The US as a threat to Venezuela is, at minimum, assuredly true.
Ministry spokesman Hong Lei made the comment at a regular press briefing.
Venezuelan Economy Vice-President Miguel Perez told Reuters on Monday that all conditions, including loan timeframes, investment amounts and non-financial aspects, had been improved, giving the OPEC member's crisis-hit economy "oxygen" ahead of heavy debt payments.
Comment: This is good news, but it will take more than this to stop Venezuela's heavy bleeding. The US' hybrid warfare against the BRICS is hitting fast and furious - check out:
Turkey's parliament will begin to debate the contentious draft law - which was proposed by Erdoğan's ruling Justice and Development party (AKP) - on Tuesday, with a final vote expected on Friday.
"The [proposed bill] will have a very negative impact on Turkey, and it is very clear that the attempt to strip MPs of immunity targets us," Selahattin Demirtaş, the HDP co-chair, told the Guardian in an interview, warning that there was "a serious risk" of violence increasing in the country as a result.
"Democratic political channels in Turkey are already in great difficulty, and if the bill passes, many people will feel that these channels have been shut completely. The belief in democracy and politics of peace will drop to zero."

Comment: The US' coup in Ukraine continues to bear rotten fruits for the Empire of Chaos. And, while their lackeys in Kiev pursue their ethnic cleansing campaign, those under the sway of the US Empire continue to live in a make-believe world:
When strangers are coming,No, the above lyrics do not refer to US-supported Kiev forces waging war on southeast Ukrainians; they are meant to refer to Russian forces 'invading' Ukraine in 1944 and in 2014. In what can only be described as a blatant propaganda blitz against Russia, this year's Eurovision winner - in defiance of an anticipated Russian victory - was the Ukrainian entry. 'Eurovision' was aired to Americans for the first time this year. Just in time, then, for them to receive precisely the impression of Europe that Washington wants them to receive: that it is pro-US and anti-Russian.
They come to your house,
They kill you all
and say,
We're not guilty
not guilty.
Where is your mind?
Humanity cries.
You think you are gods.
But everyone dies.
Don't swallow my soul.
Our souls

Belgian police have warned citizens not to use Facebook's new Reactions, to protect their privacy.
In February, the site launched six new ways of reacting to a post, alongside the Like button. They were intended partly as a way of answering calls for a "Dislike" button - allowing people to share their feelings about posts without appearing to endorse what had been said.
But the Belgian police now says that the site is using them as a way of collecting information about people and deciding how best to advertise to them. As such, it has warned people that they should avoid using the buttons if they want to preserve their privacy.

CSKA Moscow beat Fenerbahce 101-96 in overtime on Sunday, winning its seventh crown in the biggest game in European basketball. Enraged by the outcome of this friendly competition, Samil Tayyar, a member of Turkey's parliament, proposed a military response.
"I want to shoot down one more Russian jet!" the politician wrote.
