NSA employees used the agency's massive surveillance network to spy on lovers, former spouses

National Security Agency (NSA) employees reportedly used the agency's global surveillance network to spy on lovers and former spouses, casting further doubt on the government's claims about the program.

This comes in the wake of the realization that the agency's employees were guilty of multiple "willful violations" of the NSA's surveillance authorities and the privacy rights of Americans.

Just last week it was also revealed that the NSA breached privacy rules almost 3,000 times in a single year, making it officially impossible to deny that the NSA illegally spied on Americans.

It's interesting to note that this latest news seems to cast doubt on the NSA's claim that the analysts guilty of the "willful violations" were actually just "overzealous NSA employees or contractors" who wanted to prevent a second attack along the lines of September 11, 2001.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said that the NSA told the committee about "isolated cases" of employees spying on loved ones that have occurred about once a year over the past 10 years, according to the Telegraph.

The employees code named the practice "LOVEINT," according to the Telegraph.

The LOVEINT name is styled after the terms used for other types of intelligence gathering, like SIGINT (signals intelligence), GEOINT (geospatial intelligence), MASINT (measurement and signature intelligence), HUMINT (human intelligence), TECHINT (technical intelligence), etc.

'Violent chaos': Libya in deep crisis 2 years since rebels took over

Libyan forces
© (AFP Photo / Mahmud Turkia)Joint Libyan forces from the ministries of defence and interior, raid bases of illegal militias made up of former rebels who did not join the army or internal security forces, in the capital Tripoli on March 18, 2013.
On this day two years ago, Libyan rebels were transferring their government to Tripoli. However, the anniversary is marred by an acute parliamentary crisis, a severe economic slump and the country becoming the main base for Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb.

August could have been a month of festivities in Libya, marking the watershed in the rebels' fight against Muammar Gaddafi, who had to flee Tripoli. Even though it would still be two months before the fugitive dictator was captured and brutally killed, the insurgents celebrated their victory and had their government transferred from the cradle of the revolution, Benghazi, to the capital.

The euphoria of the revolution has all but gone now, as Libya finds itself mired in deep political crisis as well as economic turmoil.

"We do not feel the taste of happiness, security and stability," a resident of Tripoli is cited as saying by Libya Herald, "nor did we have any benefit from the government. People are now feeling insecure and live in fear because of killings that are being witnessed all over Libya."

Comment: Divide and conquer. This type of hell is what France, the UK and the USA just to mention the key western players, wish for Syria.

Italian political reformer Aldo Moro was really assassinated by Italy's 'stay-behind network' set up by the CIA

Image
Aldo Moro, Italy's JFK
Fascinating documentary (an episode in an incredible eight part series on political assassinations) on the 'deep state' execution of the progressive politician and former Prime Minister of Italy in the 1960s. On the surface it appeared Aldo Moro was kidnapped and killed by ultra-leftist urban guerilla group the Red Brigades, but scratch the surface and we find an unholy alliance of fascistic forces that were involved in the kidnapping.

This included the ultra-right masonic P2 lodge, Italian state and military intelligence structures as well as American CIA and British MI6 involvement through the NATO 'Gladio' stay-behind networks who had spent the 50s, 60s and 70s executing false-flag terrorist outrages and then blaming them on the left.

Flashback US envoy admits role in Aldo Moro killing

Aldo Moro, the former Italian prime minister, who was seized at gunpoint by the Red Brigades in 1978

An American envoy has claimed that he played a critical role in the fate of Aldo Moro, the former Italian prime minister who was murdered by terrorists in 1978.

Steve Pieczenik, an international crisis manager and hostage negotiator in the State Department, said that Moro had been "sacrificed" for the "stability" of Italy.

Comment: Reversing this psycho-babble, and taking into account the political context in which Moro was working to make Italy more stable by bringing the very popular Communist Party into government, we can today understand this to really mean that Moro was sacrificed to preserve Italy's in-stability and thus keep it under the fascists' control.

In a new book called We Killed Aldo Moro, Mr Pieczenik said he was sent to Italy by President Jimmy Carter on the day that Moro was kidnapped by the Red Brigades, a far-Left terrorist group.

Moro, who had been prime minister for a total of more than five years between 1963 and 1976, was snatched at gunpoint from his car in Rome.

War whore McCain: Syria intervention could be done 'easily'

Sen. John McCain on Thursday announced that he no longer trusts President Obama's word on Syria, and believes that military intervention in the war-torn country could be launched quickly and "easily".

The Arizona Republican told CNN's Kate Boulduan that the US military could destroy Syrian President Bashar Assad's runways and aircraft within "a couple of days", quickly arm rebels and establish a no-fly zone easily.

"There would be no boots on the ground," he said. "We would use standoff weapons just as the Israelis have four times as they've taken out targets inside Syria. We would not put a single life at risk."

McCain, a ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, said the president's failure to take action in response to the violent turbulence in Egypt shows that the US has no policies or strategies that can be trusted.

"There is no policy. And there is no strategy. And therefore we react and we react poorly," he said. "One of the best examples is Syria where the president said Bashar al-Assad uses chemical weapons, that's a red line. He's used them and we have done virtually nothing in response to that."

Snipers shoot at UN chemical inspectors in Syria - UN spokesman

Chemicals weapons experts in Syria
© (Reuters / Khaled Al Hariri)United Nations (U.N.) vehicles transport a team of U.N. chemical weapons experts to the scene of a poison gas attack outside the Syrian capital last week, in Damascus August 26, 2013.
A UN inspection team vehicle in Syria has been shot at by snipers, a UN spokesman says. The team returned to the government checkpoint to replace the damaged vehicle, and is currently meeting the victims of the attack and taking samples.

The inspectors' car "was deliberately shot at multiple times by unidentified snipers in the buffer zone area," the spokesman for the UN secretary-general, Martin Nesirky, said.

Despite earlier reports that the inspection will be suspended, the team went to the inspection area after replacing the vehicle, which is no longer serviceable, at the checkpoint.

The inspectors are now meeting the victims of the attack and taking samples, medics said.

Syrian state TV has issued a statement accusing rebel fighters of carrying out the attack, quoting Syrian information ministry.

More fake terror plots: US arrests man at JFK airport 'with uranium for Iran in shoes'

Image
A man was arrested in New York City's international airport with uranium destined for Iran hidden in the soles of his shoes, the US Justice Department said.

Patrick Campbell, 33, who was arrested Wednesday as he arrived at the John F Kennedy airport from Paris, is accused of trying to act as an intermediary to sell Iran 1,000 tons of purified uranium, in violation of US law.

The Sierra Leone-based Campbell had been under surveillance since May 2012, when he responded to an ad on the site Alibaba.com by someone looking to buy uranium 308, or yellow cake.

The buyer was actually an undercover US immigration officer.

Asked to supply 1,000 tons of uranium -- disguised with other types of ore to escape detection -- Campbell promised to ship the product, disguised as chromite, from Sierra Leone to the port of Bandar Abbas in Iran.

Killing with Impunity: Israeli troops kill three Palestinians in predawn raid: hospital

Mourning of dead Palestinians

Israeli troops shot dead three Palestinians and wounded about a dozen in an early morning raid on Monday to arrest a suspected militant in a refugee camp near Jerusalem, Palestinian medical sources told Reuters.

Witnesses said Israeli armored jeeps entered the Qalandiya camp at around 3 a.m. (0000 GMT) and were met by stone-throwing local residents. The Israeli forces responded with gunfire and left the camp before daybreak.

An Israeli police spokesman said a clash erupted when border police carrying out an arrest raid were confronted by Palestinians who threw firebombs and rocks at them. The incident was being investigated, spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

Comment: The "poor" Israelis are always being portrayed as the victims and as simply defending themselves.

Comment: Israel will make sure that nothing comes of any peace talks.

Flashback British Special Forces, CIA and MI6 supporting armed insurgency in Syria

Image
Remember these two British SAS personnel caught 'dressed in Arab garb' shooting up a police checkpoint in Iraq from a car loaded with explosives?
Several articles in the British media confirm that British Special Forces are training Syrian rebels.

The underlying pattern is similar to that of Libya where British SAS were on the ground prior to the launching of NATO's military intervention.

A Responsibility to Protect (R2P) NATO intervention modelled on Libya is contemplated. The Free Syrian Army is a de facto paramilitary creation of NATO.

The reports confirm that British military and intelligence operatives are already on the ground inside Syria:
"There has been growing chatter indicating that British Special Forces are in some way assisting forces aligned against the Syrian regime.

Reports from late November last year state that British Special forces have met up with members of the Free Syrian Army (FSA), the armed wing of the Syrian National Council. The apparent goal of this initial contact was to establish the rebel forces' strength and to pave the way for any future training operations.

More recent reports have stated that British and French Special Forces have been actively training members of the FSA, from a base in Turkey. Some reports indicate that training is also taking place in locations in Libya and Northern Lebanon. British MI6 operatives and UKSF (SAS/SBS) personnel have reportedly been training the rebels in urban warfare as well as supplying them with arms and equipment. US CIA operatives and special forces are believed to be providing communications assistance to the rebels." (emphasis added)

Flashback Syria: 120 French Troops Captured Fighting With Al Qaeda Terrorists

The government of Syria has reported a brigade of 120 French soldiers part of a transmission unit came to support the rebels were caught by forces loyal to the Syrian regime in the region of Zabadani, after they took control of a key neighborhood in the city of homes.

The news of the arrests follow admissions from the Syria rebels to journalists earlier in the week that the US and France were supplying anti-aircraft missiles and other arms to the opposition forces.

So far French and western media outlets have not reported on the claims but instead have been awkwardly silent.

Given recent calls by many European nations to provide the rebels with ammunition and other support, the idea of foreign forces can not be ruled out.

In fact, there have been many rumors and intelligence reports that British special ops are in fact on the ground, directly and arming the rebel forces.

Earlier today the AP reported that the London based SNC, which has been recognized by the EU as the true representatives of people of Syria, was formed in response to EU calls to unify the rebel forces under a single umbrella so they could be supplied with European arms.

It should be noted that at the beginning of the civil war in Libya, which saw the fall of Gaddafi, the loyalist troops had arrested eight members of the British intelligence services initially before releasing them.
