An Attention-Grabbing Headline

"The first shot in the War on Cash?"

The headline caught our attention. We'd just finished researching and writing about the "Deep State" for the latest issue of our monthly publication, The Bill Bonner Letter.

This is something you're likely to hear more about. The Deep State describes the way the U.S. government really works, rather than the way it's supposed to work.

Over the years - hardly noticed by the press or the public - a group of insiders has taken control of Washington.

How about that resignation, Erdogan? Turkey is buying oil from ISIS

In response to Russia's accusation that Turkey is buying oil from ISIS, the Turkish president said that - if that is proven to be true - he'll resign.

It turns out that Turkey is buying oil from ISIS.

14 years later: NATO to keep 12,000 troops in Afghanistan

Members of the U.S.-European military alliance NATO voted Tuesday to extend the occupation of Afghanistan for at least one more year, deciding to hold steady at 12,000 troops in 2016.

"We are in Afghanistan to prevent that Afghanistan again becomes a safe haven for international terrorists," said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, according to Reuters. "That is also in our security interest to make sure that doesn't happen."

NATO members also voted to raise over $3.1 billion USD to fund Afghan security forces, currently numbered at around 350,000 troops.

Moscow: NATO's most recent moves towards expansion "can only lead to retaliatory measures from Russia"

No, the increase in NATO-aligned countries and the bases they host aren't threatening to Russia. Of course not. Don't be silly.
As the war in Syria enters its fifth year with no end in site, it's easy to forget about the world's "other" proxy conflict, that which is still unfolding in Ukraine.

You might remember Ukraine as yet another example of US intervention gone horribly awry. Indeed, this was but another instance of Washington stepping in to support "democratic" protests on the way to bringing about regime change. Just three months after a dramatic visit to Maidan Square by the Senate's favorite warhawk John McCain, Russian-backed President Viktor Yanukovych was unceremoniously ousted.

Unfortunately, the democratic utopia that America figured was inevitable didn't take shape (just like it didn't take shape after Gaddafi in Libya or after Saddam in Iraq) and now, Ukraine is mired in civil war as Russian-backed separatists battle Kiev's US-backed regulars and a handful of nationalist militias.

Comment: Half the world still does not understand what NATO's aggressive expansion portends. One of the forms it has taken has been the offensive anti-missile systems it has placed strategically all around Russia.

You ever get a sincere question from a child who obviously doesn't know certain things and bases his questions on incorrect assumptions, but the sincerity is kind of cute and funny anyway? Watch this short interview clip with Putin:

Own worst enemy: US jammed its own satellites 261 times this year alone

A high-ranking US general confessed that the most dangerous adversary of the United States in the realm of electronic warfare these days just may be... the United States itself.

He also indicated he has no clue how many times American satellites were jammed by China or Russia.

"I really don't know. My guess is zero," General John Hyten, head of Air Force Space Command, at the Association of Old Crows electronic warfare conference, according to Breaking Defense.

Shining the light on the pathological influence: The real "terrorist sympathizers" want to wage war on Syria... and Russia

Anti-war protesters demonstrate against proposals to bomb Syria outside the Houses of Parliament in London, Britain December 1, 2015.
Syria airstrikes: Cameron accuses Corbyn of being 'terrorist sympathiser'
David Cameron has appealed to Conservative MPs to give him an overall parliamentary majority in favour of military action in Syria by warning them against voting alongside "Jeremy Corbyn and a bunch of terrorist sympathisers".
...
"You should not be walking through the lobbies with Jeremy Corbyn and a bunch of terrorist sympathisers," the prime minister reportedly told the committee.
To get rid of the "terrorist sympathizers" who do not want to bomb Syria the pig-****** will have to incarcerate half of the British people.

Surely terrorist sympathizer should not be allowed to run around freely and to influence the children. These could end up no longer believing what the government and the media are telling them. They would become radicals:
A leaflet drawn up by an inner-city child safeguarding board warns that "appearing angry about government policies, especially foreign policies" is a sign "specific to radicalisation".

Parents and carers have also been advised by the safeguarding children board in the London Borough of Camden that "showing a mistrust of mainstream media reports and a belief in conspiracy theories" could be a sign that children are being groomed by extremists.
The "war on terror" is turning into a war on the local opposition of the ruling classes. Those who oppose its polices are labeled "terrorists" and those who doubts its word are "radicalized extremists". How far is it from such verbal insults to actually concentration camps?

Comment: As Putin and Russia strategically drop truth bombs about the funding through oil purchases and other training and support of the Islamic State by Turkey and via association NATO, Western 'leaders' and governments are using a wide brush to paint anyone not buying their outright lies and manipulation as 'terrorist sympathizers.'

On and since 9/11 the real 'terrorists sympathizers' and creators have waged a near total war on the world and the truth. No country and people have escaped the pathological influence of the inter-species predators in control of governments and society. This lasted years until the Russian Bear entered the fray on the side of sanity and truth after Putin and his associates cleaned house on the domestic front and then saw fit to influence the world via the Syrian conflict.

The news and possibility of strategic maneuvers and chess moves is coming fast and furious with the potential for the clash of world powers. What is the common person to do during these times where so much seems out of their control? One piece of advice is to search for the truth of the situation as a witness to the events, to spread this information within your ability and with this knowledge and activity be prepared to act in appropriate ways as world order and climate deteriorate.

David Cameron: "My way or the highway!"
MPs have voted by 397 to 223 to authorise UK air strikes against so-called Islamic State in Syria.

Prime Minister David Cameron argued in a Commons debate that action against the "medieval monsters" of IS was legal and would "keep our country safe".

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn said the case for war "does not stack up" - but his party was split, with senior Labour figures voting with the government after the 10-hour debate.

RAF bombing raids could begin soon.

President Dilma Rousseff to face impeachment in Brazil beset by recession

Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff will face impeachment proceedings in Congress, marking a deepening of the political crisis that is dragging Latin America's largest economy further into recession.

Lower house President Eduardo Cunha told reporters in Brasilia on Wednesday he has accepted one of 34 requests to impeach the president on charges that range from illegally financing her re-election to doctoring fiscal accounts this year and last. Cunha said he "profoundly regrets" what's happening. "May our country overcome this process."

The impeachment hearings could take months, involving several votes in Congress that ultimately may result in the president's ouster. Rousseff would challenge any impeachment proceedings in the Supreme Court, according to a government official with direct knowledge of her defense strategy. The presidential press office said the government will make a statement shortly.

Syrian army retakes three Latakia villages from Takfiri terrorists

Russian and Syrian forces training in preparation for combat to retake rebel-held Idlib.
The Syrian armed forces, backed by Russian airstrikes, have managed to retake three villages from Takfiri terrorists in the suburb of the northwestern province of Latakia. According to media reports, the army killed a number of militants and confiscated a large amount of arms and ammunition during an operation on Wednesday. Three villages have been freed from the grip of the militants while the military killed nine terrorists in the province of Aleppo.

The development comes as security sources said on Wednesday that Russian and Syrian forces have been engaged in joint training exercises in Latakia for the past fortnight to get ready for fighting in the foreign-sponsored militancy in the neighboring province of Idlib. "The joint Russian-Syrian training began two weeks ago in the north of Latakia province," a source said, adding that Idlib would be the next major destination and the most important target of joint Russian-Syrian military offensives.

The exercises are being held in an area of Latakia whose terrain is similar to that of Idlib, which is reportedly home to the largest number of militant groups in Syria.

Comment: Idlib has the largest number of rebel factions, excluding IS, in the country. A successful retake of this area would be a significant win for the Russian/Syrian military alliance. See also: Russia welcomes ceasefire in al-Waer, a district in Syria's third largest city

SOTT Exclusive: Pentagon rejects damning Russian evidence of Turkish support for ISIS, despite VP Biden saying same last year

Palling around with terrorists
The Pentagon has rejected the Russian Defence Ministry's damning evidence, presented at a press conference today, of Turkish state involvement in oil deals with 'Islamic State' terrorists, with spokesman Colonel Steve Warren stating:
"Let me be very clear that we flatly reject any notion that the Turks are somehow working with ISIS. That is preposterous and kind of ridiculous. We absolutely, flatly reject that notion."

The Russian MOD presented satellite photos, aerial surveillance videos, and maps demonstrating that the Turkish government - and President Recep Erdogan personally - is receiving hundreds of thousands of barrels of stolen Syrian oil from ISIS terrorists daily.

Here's a video of the Russian Ministry of Defence briefing. Note the clip showing ISIS-Turkish oil tankers freely passing through a Turkish border checkpoint:
