Best of the Web: Israel is the origin of modern terrorism - Malaysia's PM delivers scathing UN speech

Mahathir Mohamad
© Bernama picPrime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad delivering his statement at the General Debate of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York September 28, 2019.
The creation of Israel by seizing Palestinian land and expelling its 90 per cent Arab population is the root cause of terrorism, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said.

"Since then, wars have been fought in many countries, many related to the creation of Israel. And now we have terrorism when there was none before, or at least none on the present scale.

"Military action against acts of terrorism will not succeed. We need to identify the cause and remove it. But the great powers refuse to deal with the root cause," he said in his statement at the General Debate of the 74th UN General Assembly here.

Best of the Web: Why social media is FULL of sockpuppets: Twitter EXECUTIVE for Middle East is British army PSYOPS soldier

British Army
© British Army
The senior Twitter executive with editorial responsibility for the Middle East is also a part-time officer in the British Army's psychological warfare unit, Middle East Eye has established.

Gordon MacMillan, who joined the social media company's UK office six years ago, has for several years also served with the 77th Brigade, a unit formed in 2015 in order to develop "non-lethal" ways of waging war.

The 77th Brigade uses social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, as well as podcasts, data analysis and audience research to wage what the head of the UK military, General Nick Carter, describes as "information warfare".

Carter says the 77th Brigade is giving the British military "the capability to compete in the war of narratives at the tactical level"; to shape perceptions of conflict. Some soldiers who have served with the unit say they have been engaged in operations intended to change the behaviour of target audiences.

Comment: We reported that trolls, bots and sockpuppets were swarming the net a decade ago. At this point, those 'hundreds of thousands of likes' swamp creatures like Comey and Brennan get are probably something in the region of 95% fake. Deep State agents like the above critter are there to rig the numbers.

Best of the Web: The dirt Trump wants on the Bidens, and why Zelensky doesn't want him to have it

Trump Biden
© CNN.com/UnknownUS President Donald Trump • Candidate Former VP Joe Biden
In order to understand why Ukraine's President Voldomyr Zelensky doesn't want the dirt about Joe Biden to become public, one needs to know that Hunter Biden's boss and benefactor at Burisma Holdings was, at least partly, Zelensky's boss and benefactor until Zelensky became Ukraine's President, and that revealing this would open up a can of worms which could place that former boss and benefactor of both men into prison at lots of places.

First, the falsehoods in the press have to be documented here, since this article will go up against virtually all U.S.-and-allied reporting on these events. And, in order to do such a thing, the bona fides of my main sources need to be presented:

Naked Capitalism is, as the article about it at Wikipedia, says, the blog of Susan Webber, pen-named "Yves Smith," who "graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Business School. She had 20 years of experience in the financial services industry with Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Co., and Sumitomo Bank.[3] She has written articles for the New York Times, Bloomberg, and the Roosevelt Institute.[4][5]" "The site has had over 60 million visitors since 2007, and was cited as among CNBC's 2012 top 25 'Best Alternative Financial Blogs', calling Smith 'a harsh critic of Wall Street who believes that fraud was at the center of the financial crisis'.[2]" "The New York Times financial reporter Gretchen Morgenson cited Naked Capitalism as one of the 'must-read financial blogs' she reads regularly.[9]"

Flashback Best of the Web: NASA chief: Risk of asteroid impact not being taken seriously, international cooperation needed to meet cosmic threat

NASA chief warns of meteors
© Adastra/Taxi/Getty Images
Meteors that could destroy an entire U.S. state are a real threat to Earth, NASA's chief warned on Monday.

Speaking at the Planetary Defense Conference in Washington, D.C., NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine warned that the risk posed by meteor crashes was not being taken seriously.

"This is not about Hollywood, this is not about movies, this is about ultimately protecting the only planet we know right now to host life," he said.

Bridenstine pointed to the meteorite that exploded over the Russian city of Chelyabinsk in 2013, which had "30 times the energy of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima" and injured around 1,500 people. Just 16 hours after the crash, NASA detected an even larger object that approached the earth but did not land on it, he revealed.

Comment: It's so obvious, NASA is saying it outright. But instead trillion$ are wasted on geopolitical power games and social engineering...

Best of the Web: Joe Biden and Ukraine: A Quick Reminder

Joe/Hunter Biden

A quick reminder of what Joe Biden did during the collective West's 2014 coup in Kiev...
Biden insisted on capturing governmental and administrative buildings in the most violent way, preferably with victims. In order to do this, there had to already be some "symbolic" deaths. He cooked up and coordinated a scenario with other foreign embassies. In addition, Maidan was dying and it needed extra fuel in order to remain alive. The scenario involved "protestors" being shot by snipers. Biden's guys (Parubiy, Pashinsky, Parasyuk) organised the massacre.

The Ukrainian Security Service forced the Ukrainian blogger Artur Senko to delete this very damning investigation. It's in Russian only, sadly. Part 1 is above, part 2 is below.

In his memoirs Biden says:

"I called the then President of Ukraine Yanukovych and ordered him to leave his post. I made the last of many urgent calls to Yanukovych in late February of 2014, when his snipers were assassinating Ukrainian citizens".

Spot the lie(s).

Best of the Web: Hong Kong protests: Fading foreign tantrum, not genuine revolution

hong kong protests
Hong Kong rioters
Just as unfolded in 2014 during the so-called "Umbrella protests" or "Occupy Central" movement, a growing backlash has begun across Hong Kong against US-funded protests that have attempted to disrupt governance and commerce as part of a floundering movement to maintain Western influence in the region.

The Sydney Morning Herald in its article, "Triads linked to violent pro-China gangs as Hong Kong protests enter dangerous new phase," ignored weeks of violence carried out by US-backed protests in Hong Kong, and portrayed locals retaliating as "violent pro-China gangs." It should be pointed out that Hong Kong is in China.

The article claims:

Best of the Web: Revelations of WikiLeaks #5: The myth it never published damaging material on Russia

WikiLeaksspyfiles
© WikiLeaks/KJN
A month before Hillary Clinton spread the widely-believed myth that WikiLeaks had never revealed anything on Russia, the publication had already released more than a million files on the country.

This is the fifth article in a series that is looking back on the major works of the publication that has altered the world since its founding in 2006. The series is an effort to counter mainstream media coverage, which is ignoring WikiLeaks' work, and is instead focusing on Julian Assange's personality. It is WikiLeaks' uncovering of governments' crimes and corruption that set the U.S. after Assange, ultimately leading to his arrest on April 11 and indictment under the U.S. Espionage Act.

Among the many myths fostered by critics of WikiLeaks is that the publication has repeatedly shown political bias in favor of nations the U.S. treats as enemies and suppresses documents damaging to them. High on this list were Russia and Syria.

Best of the Web: The Key to Understanding Vladimir Putin

vladimir putin
© Reuters
Let me put it right out there: I believe we Americans have misunderstood -- or, as George Bush might have said, "misunderestimated" -- Vladimir Putin from the moment he entered our consciousness, at the very start of the present millennium. Here is how I remember him and what I think of where we are today.

Putin was my guest at a July 4th reception in St. Petersburg in 1995, when I was serving as the U.S. Consul General there. I recall taking him into my library. We spoke Russian in those days, before he began to learn English. His wife, still recovering from a bad automobile accident, did not accompany him. On that occasion, he was representing his boss, Mayor Anatoly Sobchak, who was off on a trip. Of course, I hadn't the faintest idea that this man was destined to become the President of the Russian Federation--and neither did he.

It seems hundreds of books have been written about Putin, and thousands of articles. More are coming, and each of them will attempt to shed some additional light on this remarkable man, who has risen from humble beginnings to lead one of the world's great nations, and has now, at the relatively young age of 66, broken the (post-Stalin) record set by Leonid Brezhnev for doing so. If I had had any idea in the mid-nineties that my guest would one day become Russia's leader, I would have had him over to lunch, to say the least. But I didn't, and I am just as glad, because it would have altered the dynamic. We were simply colleagues then.

Best of the Web: What you need to know about the Trump-Zelensky transcript

trump zelensky
The White House released the official transcript of a call between President Donald Trump and the Ukrainian president Wednesday, and while Trump did ask Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to look into former Vice President Joe Biden he did not mention any aspect of withholding aid from the nation if it was not done.

In fact, Trump spoke highly of the U.S. relationship with Ukraine, while chiding Europe's lack of support for the independent nation. Trump's full transcript with Zelensky also reveals that the president is seeking more information from Ukraine with regards to the role of Russian or Ukrainian persons involved in the hacking of the Democratic National Committee's server. His concern is significant, because Democrats accused the president and his campaign of conspiring with Russia. This request actually destroys the Democratic argument.

It is apparent from the conversation that Trump had with Zelensky that he is still seeking information on the origins of the hacking of the DNC and has always vehemently denounced the now debunked Democrat theory that his campaign conspired with Russia.

Comment: Since the release of the call, Zelensky commented on the controversy:
Ukrainian Leader Volodymyr Zelensky has said that all information about his supposedly suspicious call with President Donald Trump is already in the transcript, and he doesn't want to meddle in US elections by adding more.
...
"It was normal," Zelensky said of the call. "You read everything."

"I don't want to be involved in democratic, open elections of the USA," he added, when asked if he felt pressured to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden.
...
Zelensky said during the presser that he did not pressure any authorities in Ukraine regarding the probe involving Biden's son.
The MSM are losing their minds, naturally. One example:
"At no time have I considered resigning my position since assuming this role on August 16, 2019," Maguire said in a statement released on Wednesday after the Washington Post claimed he had threatened to do just that. "I have never quit anything in my life and I am not about to start now."

According to "current and former US officials familiar with the matter" cited by the Post, Maguire was prepared to quit in opposition to the White House attempts to stop him from testifying about what it called the "explosive" whistleblower complaint regarding President Donald Trump's discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which the president allegedly threatened to withhold military aid if Ukraine did not reopen an investigation into the corruption of former Vice President Joe Biden's son's company. Maguire is scheduled to testify in open and closed hearings before Congress about the complaint on Thursday.

I am altering the deal, pray I don't alter it any further.

You know I think there are no coincidences in politics. Everything happens on a particular schedule. So when I see a day as crazy as today I have to ask the question, "Why this, why now?"

Look at the headlines and you'll see what I'm talking about. All of these things happened since I woke up at 7:30am Monday morning in Florida:
  1. The British Supreme Court just arrogated unprecedented power to itself by inserting itself into any dispute between the Government and Parliament. This upends more than 300 years of constitutional process.
  2. The Democrats have announced they will pursue impeachment charges against President Trump because an unverified, hearsay whistleblower made a complaint about a phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski. Impeachment odds soared overnight as someone was tipped off about the Democrats' plan.
  3. Bitcoin's hashrate mysteriously flash-crashed more than 40% presaging a massive $1500 drop in price.
  4. Donald Trump delivered a blistering critique of socialism at the United Nations General Assembly. Too bad he's nearly as bad as the ones he's fighting on the far left.
  5. Europe's Trio of Faded Glory — The UK, France and Germany — joined in the chorus of unverified condemnation of Iran in the attack on the Saudi oil field on the 14th.
  6. The Federal Reserve continues to bail out banks to the tune of $65 to $75 billion per day through overnight repo operations that no one can give us an explanation as to why they're needed.
This feels to me like a multi-level coup against those that dare stand athwart the global power structure. Both British and American leadership institutions are under sincere attack with these moves.
