Coping with chaos: Societal collapse and mass psychosis

yeats second coming
Right now I think many people have the sense that society is coming apart at the seams. It's like the famous WB Yeats poem, "The Second Coming":
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
Yeats's Second Coming is not an event to be celebrated. It is not Christ, but the great Sphinx of Giza, who is lumbering toward civilization, with nothing good on its mind.
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
In the past few months we've seen mass hysteria over a virus that, according to the CDC's "best estimate," has a lethality rate of 0.26%. (That's 0.4% of those with symptoms, adjusted for the CDC's estimate of 35% infected without symptoms.) Then we saw new hysteria over a suspect who died in police custody and whose death was captured on video. George Floyd's death should not have happened, but the officer responsible has already been charged and is being held in custody, so what exactly does "justice for George Floyd" represent? A lynching? Perhaps. In any event, the tragedy is being used to justify looting, arson, murder, and the destruction of inner-city neighborhoods that won't be rebuilt for a generation, if ever. In the meantime, so-called "medical authorities" are telling us that, while the virus makes it incredibly dangerous to gather together for a picnic or sports event, it is not only safe but morally necessary to assemble for protests.

The Silence of the lambs: Why are the churches still shut?

closed church
This piece is written exclusively with Christians in mind. Atheists and those of other religions are of course welcome to peek in through the window, and in fact part of me suspects that many who do, though disagreeing with the theology, will perhaps see the points being made more clearly than many of our national church leaders.

Never before in the history of the church have so many churches been shut for this long. Never before in the history of the church have God's people failed to meet together in such great numbers for so long. Never before in 2,000 years of church history has the Lord's Supper been suspended for so long for so many.

After weeks of this startling situation, we have started to hear a few murmurings from one or two prominent church leaders. However, most of it is so insipid that it bears the same sort of resemblance to John and Peter's declaration to the Sanhedrin in Acts 5 — "We must obey God rather than men" — as Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock's arbitrary and irrational rules bear to the Declaration of Independence.

Comment: The churches don't or won't say anything because if they do, they would have to actually call out this infernal situation for what it is: a cult of worship to The Darkness...

Red Pill

The Media Are Lying To You About Everything, Including The Riots

riots
It seems no great event or upheaval in our national life can pass now without the media lying to our faces about it.

They lied about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia in 2016. They lied about the Mueller probe and Brett Kavanaugh and former national security adviser Mike Flynn. They lied about Trump's phone call with the Ukrainian president and the impeachment farce that ensued. They lied about the coronavirus and the lockdowns and the White House response. And now they're lying about the riots.

In recent days we've heard a steady drumbeat of lies, distortions, and disingenuousness from the mainstream media about almost every aspect of the unrest now gripping American cities. The deceit is almost too pervasive and amorphous to describe, but I'm going to try anyway.

Over the weekend we were told, for example, that the looting and violence was being instigated not by left-wing anarchists and antifa groups but by the media's favorite villains: white supremacists. CNN, whose Atlanta offices were vandalized Friday, went on and on — without a shred of evidence to back it up — about how white supremacists might be infiltrating the protests and stirring up trouble. The New York Times, in a report that even quoted a senior police official in New York City saying outside anarchist groups were coordinating mayhem before the protests began, nevertheless veered into a long aside about how far-right "accelerationists" were hoping the unrest would bring about a long-sought second civil war.

The businesses who are plugging their woke cred by supporting the Antifa and BLM riots

Rioters, probably Black Lives Matter, destroying a Target cashier's station.
We want to give a hat tip to Ashley Rae Goldenberg, who posted the following piece on Medium. Ms Goldberg lists 279 companies who are on record as supporting Black Lives Matter / Antifa / protesters / riots. This is so that the public can make informed decisions about what businesses to patronize, especially if said public does NOT support the rioting and the extremely left-leaning elitism on display. For many of us, the propensity of leftist activists to use anything, even the death of a man, to promote their views is disgusting. A good way for businesses to discover this and get their alignment right is to boycott them.

Comment: Medium has since suspended Ms. Goldenberg's page.

The list includes an archive link that shows what the company named actually said. One can exercise their own good judgement about what they wish to support through their dollars.

So, here is the list, and what Ashley has to say about it, with our own emphasis added.

Comment: And there's more...

Bank of America pledged $1 billion over 4 years to Black Lives Matter.

Wal-Mart pledged $100 Million to 'the movement', and its employees were instructed by its CEO that they must not only comply with Walmart's internal and external changes but must believe in them "authentically and more deeply."

Facebook pledged $10 million to 'racial justice campaigns'.

Money going to BLM's main fund (the "Black Lives Matter Global Fund") goes through ActBlue, which is purportedly a DNC money-laundering group.

A police chief in Massachusetts joined a large crowd of protesters by lying face down on the pavement Saturday amid increased tensions between law enforcement and demonstrators throughout the U.S. following the death of George Floyd.

Urged by the chanting of several hundred people during the Black Lives Matter demonstration, Webster Police Chief Michael Shaw participated and laid face down on the pavement for over eight minutes, as the crowd was heard yelling: "Thank you chief. Thank you chief."

"It's not enough, but it's a start!" one demonstrator also shouted towards the end of the symbolic act, according to the Telegram & Gazette.

Leading purveyor of 'Russiagate' says George Floyd protests are 'just like US-backed color revolutions'

There is no need to speculate any longer about the odd similarities between 'color revolution' regime change operations overseas and the current protests across the US, when a leading purveyor of 'Russiagate' outright admits it.

What the US is experiencing now is "more like the nonviolent movements that earned broad societal support in places such as Serbia, Ukraine, and Tunisia," the Atlantic's Franklin Foer said on Saturday, in a piece titled 'The Trump Regime Is Beginning to Topple'.

Foer doesn't go into the details of the events in Serbia and Tunisia, and he only brings up Ukraine in the context of the 2013-14 protests that turned violent and resulted in armed militias taking control in Kiev. In his telling, these were all genuine popular movements that overthrew 'dictators', which just so happened to be guided by a 93-page pamphlet written by US political scientist Gene Sharp.

US corporate media act as 'mouthpieces of intelligence services' on foreign policy & national security - ex-WSJ journalist to RT

American private media often "launder" misinformation fed by the secret services, while politicians pressure Facebook to act as its proxy against foreign outlets, author and former Wall Street Journal reporter Joe Lauria told RT.

"Private corporate media, on their foreign policy and national security reporting, are virtually mouthpieces of the intelligence services," Lauria told RT.
They launder misinformation and disinformation from the intelligence services in the US, which gains credibility if you read it in the New York Times and not directly from the CIA. They have a state function as well even if they're corporate-owned. So this is clearly an anti-Russian, anti-Chinese, anti-Iranian thing.

Swamp Creature General Mattis Denounces Trump as 'Divider', 'Threat to US Constitution'

In an extraordinary condemnation, the former defense secretary backs protesters and says the president is trying to turn Americans against one another

Former Defense Sec. Jim Mattis • US President Donald Trump
James Mattis, the esteemed Marine general who resigned as secretary of defense in December 2018 to protest Donald Trump's Syria policy, has, ever since, kept studiously silent about Trump's performance as president. But he has now broken his silence, writing an extraordinary broadside in which he denounces the president for dividing the nation, and accuses him of ordering the U.S. military to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens.

"I have watched this week's unfolding events, angry and appalled," Mattis writes. "The words 'Equal Justice Under Law' are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand — one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values — our values as people and our values as a nation." He goes on, "We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution."

In his j'accuse, Mattis excoriates the president for setting Americans against one another.

D.C. Mayor Bowser has 'Black Lives Matter' painted on street leading to White House

"Black Lives Matter" painted on 16th Street near the White House on June 5, 2020.
District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser on Friday had "Black Lives Matter" painted on the street that leads to the White House where protesters have been demonstrating following George Floyd's death in police custody.

"There was a dispute this week about whose street this is," John Falcicchio, chief of staff for Bowser, a Democrat, said in a tweet. "Mayor Bowser wanted to make it abundantly clear that this is DC's street and to honor demonstrators who (were) peacefully protesting on Monday evening."

People were seen painting the words "Black Lives Matter" on Friday morning in large block letters in yellow across 16th street, which leads to Lafayette Square and the White House.

Bowser tweeted later in the morning that that particular section of 16th Street has been renamed "Black Lives Matter Plaza."

Comment: Who virtue signaled harder, Bowser or Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey?

And all this for a lie!

The statistics show that Blacks are not killed in proportionally higher numbers than Whites by the police in the USA.

Time to relocate! Minneapolis City Council members pledge to 'dismantle' police department

Minneapolis police at a protest against the death of George Floyd on May 30, 2020.
Members of the Minneapolis City Council pledged to "dismantle" the city's police department in the wake of worldwide protests over the killing of George Floyd.

Council President Lisa Bender joined several other members in promises to drastically change how public safety is upheld in the city.

"We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety," Bender tweeted.

Comment: It seems western civilization has reached peak idiocy. When the city that just erupted in violent riots and looting, which sparked similar riots across the country and even other parts of the world, decides the best response to that is to dismantle the police department you know that the leaders have clearly lost their minds. Anyone living in Minneapolis would be best advised to put their home up for sale now.
