Ostensibly, the target of the attack is Donald Trump, the brash New York real estate tycoon who was swept into office in November 2016. The real target, however, is the office itself, the universally-recognized "seat of power" which the enemy believes should remain under the control of the people who own the country. These are the ruthless oligarchs whose octopus-like tentacles are wrapped around Wall Street, the MSM, the courts, the Congress, the Democratic Party, and powerful elements within the National Security State. They own it all and they have no intention of putting it up for grabs by honoring the results of an arbitrary and scattershot election that failed to produce the outcome they sought.
The decision was announced by Minister for Medical Care Tamara van Ark after a review by the country's National Institute for Health (RIVM). The government will instead seek better adherence to social distancing rules after a surge in coronavirus cases in the country this week, Van Ark said at a press conference in The Hague.
"Because from a medical perspective there is no proven effectiveness of masks, the Cabinet has decided that there will be no national obligation for wearing non-medical masks" Van Ark said.
Comment: Like elsewhere in Europe, Dutch cases have 'risen' simply because testing has increased. As for masks, regardless of how one wears them, they're not designed to protect one from viruses:

Democrats, so far as I can find, have never denounced the violent mobs, though New York Governor Andrew Cuomo once wagged a finger at George Floyd rioters while simultaneously explaining that it wasn't really their fault because "income inequality" led to violence. Indeed, the only remonstrance issued was over people burning down black-owned businesses - their "own house" as he put it, because burning your own stuff "never makes sense." As denunciations go, it was a rambling nothing-burger. Atlanta's mayor voiced similar disgust with the arsonists and looters.
In fact, mayors, governors, and prosecutors have fallen all over themselves to support the violent mobs in Seattle, New York, St. Louis, Washington, D.C., and, of course, Portland, often conflating the "mostly peaceful" protesters upset with the killing of George Floyd - remember him? - with the ones looting Louis Vuitton, tearing down statues of George Washington, and trying to burn down federal buildings.
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan ceded a section of the fancy Capitol Hill neighborhood to the mob. She handed over a police precinct to the mob. Two murders, gunshot wounds, assaults, and rapes took place at her pet mob's little "summer of love" squat. She's never apologized.
AG Bill Barr testified in front of the House Judiciary Committee this morning. For exactly what I do not know because it didn't take long for it to go off the rails.
In other words, right away:
Once the hearing, which lasted until mid-afternoon, [Chairman Jerry] Nadler did not hesitate to express his scorn for Barr and his Justice Department.Nadler brought up the death of George Floyd, the protests, the collusion investigation, prosecutions against those involved in the investigation, re-elections, etc.
"Thank you for being here, Mr. Barr," Nadler said with a note of sarcasm, pointing out that this was the attorney general's first time appearing before the committee. — Fox News
Like I said. Who knows the actual point of the hearing except to try to embarrass Barr on TV.
Comment: If for nothing else than for this appalling display, the Democrat clown show currently in office deserve to be swept out of Washington.

Attorney General William Barr testifies before the House Judiciary Committee hearing in the Congressional Auditorium at the US Capitol
Attorney General William Barr's seemingly interminable testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday demonstrated two things. First, AG Barr is the most patient and unflappable man in Alpha Centauri. Second, his would-be inquisitors in the Democratic party have succumbed to a virus far more toxic than the Wuhan flu.
Political epidemiologists who identify the virus as Trump Derangement Syndrome are not quite right in their diagnosis. To be sure, TDS is a common comorbidity that renders this new infection more virulent and debilitating. But the nervous disorder on view yesterday, while it presupposes tertiary Trump Derangement Syndrome, is actually distinct from that malady. I am not sure that public health officials have yet settled on a name for the sickness. Yet like the end stages of rabies, everyone can recognize its appalling symptoms.
Comment: A montage of the Democrats disgraceful treatment of the Attorney General of the United States at a hearing THEY had been clamoring for for months.
Of a total of 11,900 personnel that will be leaving Germany under the proposal, 6,400 will be returning to the US, from where they could be used for rotational deployments in eastern Europe and around the world, while 5,600 will be repositioned within other Nato countries, particularly Belgium and Italy.
The defence secretary, Mark Esper, said the move would begin within weeks, but also stressed that planning for the redeployment was in its early stages and it would cost several billion dollars.
He repeatedly denied that the decision was motivated by Trump's frequently expressed desire to move troops out of Germany to teach Berlin a lesson for not spending enough on defence. The Pentagon put out a statement saying the withdrawal would "strengthen Nato, enhance the deterrence of Russia" and boost the flexibility of the US military.
Comment: Will wonders never cease. A retired military man at a think-tank not distorting a common sense position the president takes!
Again we note that Trump is proactively pushing to make good on his electoral promise to scale down US overseas deployments. And again it's *crickets* from the 'traditional anti-war left'...

Still shot from the film 'Hidden Figures'
Systemic : fundamental to a predominant social, economic, or political practice
Institutionalized : established as a common and accepted part of a system or culture
I watched the movie Hidden Figures last weekend. It's a fantastic documentary about the brave and brilliant black women who worked for NASA in the early 60s and the rampant racism of the era. While I was very young, I do remember what it was like. And I've seen nothing like it since.
With renewed calls for reformed policing ringing through the U.S., it is important to separate fact from fiction.
In the wake of George Floyd's tragic death, Democrats like Joe Biden are vowing to address "institutional racism" yet lack basic understanding of the issue.
If Democrats truly want to solve police brutality they should do a little research.
His frustration was more than justified. Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D., N.Y.) and the other Democrats who control the House demanded for months that Barr come to a "hearing" and "testify." But of course, it wasn't anything like an actual hearing, and they didn't want him to testify — as in actually answer questions. The session was a coveted election-year opportunity for Democrats to berate the attorney general of the United States in five-minute installments, accusing Barr of corruption, perjury, violating his oath, betraying the Constitution — at one point, even of killing thousands of COVID-19 victims (apparently, by being attorney general during a pandemic).
Especially at the beginning of the hearing, Barr easily parried the hostile questions — soliloquies with question-marks at the end. He picked apart their misstatements and disingenuous premises, and answered with aplomb. Democrats thus dropped the threadbare pretense that this was a hearing. In the main, the rest of the afternoon was devoted to raging, mock-anguished perorations about how Trump is a dictator and how Barr is helping him destroy our democracy.
These were punctuated by the occasional petulant demand that Barr answer "yes or no" a question that was either loaded or incoherent. When Barr would begin to answer, there would be foot-stomping, indignant, "I'm reclaiming my time" interruptions, claims that there was no question pending (usually after a question had just been posed), and then more Democrat filibustering about how the American people could clearly see that Barr was afraid to answer their questions . . . that they wouldn't let him answer.
It was an embarrassing spectacle.
Comment: Here's just one 'questioning' of the United States Attorney General that took place yesterday. This basically went on for 4 hours! Barr was stoic and funny in handling the Democrazis on this occasion, but the author is correct that the hyper-partisan nature of US politics spells doom for the US...
Actually, hang on... here's another sample of yesterday's 'hearing':

A U.S. flag burns by protesters at Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during an anti-Trump rally in in Los Angeles, California, U.S., July 4, 2020
The Democratic Party and its willing cabal of party activists will do anything in its power to get rid of Donald Trump. This cabal works hand in hand with their friends over at the fake news media who report that the widespread rioting, race wars, looting and arson are nothing more than "peaceful protests." The stark choice on offer for the 2020 US Presidential election is a modified Trump or Biden's unknown handlers.
Documents declassified by the Director of National Intelligence John Radcliffe and released last week are excellent examples of this cabal in operation. These prove that in 2016, the top law enforcement agency in the USA, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, used "defensive briefings" to illegally spy on the president-elect to help further the fatuous and baseless Trump/Russia allegations. Were Obama and Biden involved? This was a coordinated attempt to stage a coup d'état against the 45th democratically elected president of the United States of America, Donald J Trump.
Comment: It doesn't matter who wins or loses in November, the manipulators will continue to play their games while the rest of society suffers.
