Police officers says they observed multiple drones flying near city neighborhoods, federal and military properties.

As mysterious aerial activity continues along the East Coast, cities in Texas are also getting similar sightings in the sky, this time triggering an investigation. The White Settlement Police Department, along with federal authorities, has launched an investigation into multiple suspicious aircraft were reported flying near city neighborhoods, and federal and military properties at 8:14 p.m. on Tuesday. After observing drones flying near Bomber Road, Silver Creek and North Las Vegas Trail, officers coordinated with security personnel from military and federal properties to locate the pilot. At 8:54 p.m. and again at 10:21 p.m., police responded to additional reports of multiple drones in the area.

The Fort Worth suburb is home to the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, a manufacturing facility for defense contractor Lockheed Martin, and a Texas Army National Guard recruitment center.

White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook in a statement, said:
"Out of an abundance of caution, reports have been initiated and we are working with the FBI, NCIS, and Air Force OSI to determine the flight trajectories and who was piloting the unmanned aircraft. While we do not believe there were any immediate threats related to last night's activities, it is concerning due to operating in 'NO FLY ZONEs' near federal and military properties."

The alleged drone activity follows numerous recent reports of mysterious aircraft along the East Coast, including in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Multiple residents along the Texas Gulf Coast have also recently reported unusual drone activity, including a Bolivar Peninsula resident who filmed around 20 of the flying objects headed inland from the Gulf of Mexico last week. Local authorities did not respond to a request for comment about the activity.

Still, U.S. government officials and local law enforcement have said the sightings are not a threat to national security or a public safety concern. In a joint statement this week, the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and Federal Aviation Administration and Defense Department said:
"Having closely examined the technical data and tips from concerned residents, we assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones."
