A massive sandstorm hit Khajuwala city of Bikaner district in Rajasthan, a news agency ANI reported on Monday. Earlier in the day, the Meteorological department had predicted that in the next 48 hours another dust storm will hit in parts of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

However, there were no reports of damage or loss of lives till the report is filed. The department also issued a warning that fresh thunderstorms might strike several parts of India between 5 and 7 May, reported ANI. The home ministry also issued a fresh warning on Friday for possible thunderstorms in West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

The IMD stated that light rain to thundershowers might occur at isolated places during next 48-72 hours in Punjab. It also said that Rain/ thundershower activity is likely to increase in intensity and spread between 7-8 May.
