In making their rulings, British judges use a guidance manual named the 'Equal Treatment Bench Book', which is published by the Judicial College, a body responsible for training all UK judges. The manual was just updated with a very pro-feminist, anti-male worldview taking hold. Judges are now being advised to avoid offending any of the snowflakes that might appear in their courtroom:
"Judges are now being urged to refrain from using certain words, including 'ethnic minorities,' 'afro-Caribbean' and 'transsexual,' while 'postman' should be replaced by 'postal operative'."But the politically correct language doesn't stop there. It gets much worse:
"The guidelines also call for judges to be "slow" when it comes to jailing women, as imprisonment is believed to be more damaging to females than males. Going against the long-standing social norm whereby all are treated equally before the law, the guidelines suggest the opposite. "True equal treatment may not always mean treating everyone in the same way," the new version reads."It's hard to imagine a more ludicrous statement. Equal treatment absolutely means treating everyone equally. Anything else is unequal treatment, plain and simple. This cannot be denied, yet the wizards at the Judicial College somehow have convinced themselves of something that is completely at odds with both the function of the English language and observable reality. Welcome to the liberal feminist ideology, where black is white and unequal treatment is fair if it benefits those poor victims of the patriarchy.
The craziness continues:
The Bench Book adds: "Women remain disadvantaged in many public and private areas of their lives. The previous life experiences of women offenders, their reasons for offending, their offending patterns, the impact of custodial sentences on themselves and their dependants, and the long-term effect of prison sentences all tend to differ between men and women."Yes, men and women tend to differ. That's about the only true statement above, and one which feminists have, ironically, railed against for decades. Men are absolutely negatively affected by prison sentences, especially since there are more men imprisoned than women and men statistically have longer sentences given to them by judges. Men also have many disadvantages in life too. Everyone has to struggle to survive, not just women. To consciously favor one gender over another in legal matters is the definition of inequality. Here's a novel idea: if anyone, woman or man, doesn't want to be imprisoned, don't break the law! It's ludicrous to say that if a woman breaks the law, it's because they are victims but if a man commits the same crime he's an aggressor.
This feminist tour de force sadly continues:
If judges deem it necessary to hand a jail sentence to [female] defendants, they should consider suspending it, the guidance advises. It reads: "The impact of imprisonment on women, more than half of whom have themselves been victims of serious crime, is especially damaging and their outcomes are worse than men's."Where is the proof that "women's outcomes are worse than men's"? The implication is that men are not as negatively impacted by imprisonment, at least not enough for these libtards to be concerned about it. Lots of men are victims of serious crime. More men are beaten and murdered statistically than women. So why are women being singled out for favoritism in the courts? Men get beaten and even killed every day, often in the course of trying to protect women.
One of the chief justices who helped create the new guidelines wrote in the foreword to the policy changes:
"The profound desire of the team responsible for this revision is that all those in and using a court leave it conscious of having appeared before a fair-minded tribunal."But there is nothing fair-minded about the changes they made. It's all about unequal treatment based on gender alone. As if it needs to be said, this is the precise opposite of fair and equal treatment.
Courts are places which should be impartial and unaffected by anything but the facts of a particular case. The fact that postmodernist, radical feminist ideology has spread to the point that it is actually altering the way courts make judgments on criminal acts should be concerning for everyone. How long before courts convict a defendant solely based on their gender? That may sound extreme, but after reading the above, I can't help but feel that things are only going to get worse, not better, as this mind virus spreads through more and more institutions in Western nations.

King also wrote: "Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge, aggression and retaliation." Yes, a problem exists, but why must men (or any group) lose their rights and the safeguards of those rights while those professing the desire for equality struggle against them? Why must one group become imprisoned to raise up another group? What do simply metaphysical dynamics telegraph to you in this statement? Can you not raise yourself up without denigrating men? Or anyone else for that matter? Can you not come from a more neutral position wherein you see both good and bad on both sides? When you do not respect an inequality and do not strive for eradication based upon the preservation of all human dignity, then you are instigator of inequality, aggression, and retaliation.
Oh but think of the women! Think of their feelies! How oppressed queen Elizabeth is! She's surrounded by male privilege! Ohhh the huMANity
Men have lost control long ago becoming slaves to their desires verses masters of them.
How many innocent children and women have been affected by war and who starts the wars to begin with?
Often times the most complaints come from those who live in the most comfortable surrounding with water, (hot and cold), protection from the elements and bugs, refrigerators. Some people in my village live tin houses with gaping holes and don't complain. They may be dirt poor but are indeed nobel and wonderful examples as they still count their blessings though earn about $6 and sometimes less for a very long day's work.
So men will be treated unequally before the law? Just like they have treated women since Eve? And they complain? They have had their male privileges removed and they cry unequal treatment?
The trouble is not because of men... nor women but the lack of maturity in BOTH.
All it cost women was a lack of freedom of self-determination (not being included in adulthood, in other words).
Now women have been included in adulthood, and as we all can see, the loudest of them are abusing their newfound power. Old, draconian laws are being replaced with new draconian laws. The rights of self-determination of the individual is being replaced with collectivist over-lording where the group is everything. Because that is how women think; in-groups are cared for (forcefully) and everyone not in that group are being frozen out at best.
Women have had 30 years of being in power; men 30 000 or more. Men have social cues and unspoken rules in place to prevent conflicts, because that's how you get yourself wounded or killed. Women have no such systems in place - rather, conflicts are escalated freely because historically there have been no deadly consequences of their actions. Now, however, women are frequently finding themselves in places of power, but still escalate conflicts freely.
Just like boys on the verge of adulthood, women have to be taught how to handle the power that comes with it. Feminazis everywhere shows why.
I think you are a coward! I doubt you have stood up for anything outside of a computer screen. You want equality by segregating the other side. You are no better than what you hate. God help us all if warp minded people like you control the government. Not even you will be saved....

Out of my parents, my mum definitely calls the shots.
Out of my housemates, the women rein supreme.
At work, my boss is a woman. She commands the power.
I don't know what part of the world women supposedly are ruled by men because in my world, women sit on the throne. Lol.
I have seen more men get torn apart by women than the other way round. I was once on a bridge bringing back a man from the brink of death due to what a woman had done to him.

Education of the golden rule, found in all the major religions, is a good start.
Prejudice of any race, sex, nationality, class, etc. is judging the Creator's work. No one had a choice of what they were born into.
The definition of complement is to add additional (therefore non-existent) features to a whole. Things that complement each other cannot be equal, otherwise they'd be superfluous.
Out of curiosity, who complements who? I.e. who is the base state, to which additional and much valued features are added?
"the powers and functions of each (women and men) is the complement of each other." -Abdu'l-Baha How could a woman or man reach their full potential without the other? How could one be born without one or the other coming together of a mother and father? Women and men are equally important and when one is removed from the family, the family is broken. If women and man do not unite to make a family, society will come to an end.
The body requires many organs, all are important to keep the body healthy. If one organ is kept back by disease, malnutrition or injury the body and all it's organs suffer and can result in death. The organs compliment each other to make the body healthy. So too is the same with society. Men and women compliment each other to make each other healthy which in turn makes the family and society healthy.
Complement: 1 A thing that contributes extra features to something else in such a way as to improve or emphasize its quality. โlocal ales provide the perfect complement to fine foodโ More example sentences Synonyms
2: in singular A number or quantity of something, especially that required to make a group complete. โat the moment we have a full complement of staffโ
[Link]
My understanding of the word complement does not mean that quality required to improve or make something complete or better is more or less important than what it adds to.
Each family member is complement the other. Your question of "who is the base state" seems to imply every family member is lower than someone else. Each family member does or should make the other family members better and more complete. Isn't this an example of complement? Don't you believe in equal rights and opportunities for family members or does sexual orientation have to be considered putting one over the other? Diversity and appreciation for it gives meaning to life. How would one know colors or musical notes without the diversity of them? It is the opposites and diversity that educates and brings people together including male and male. Everyone likes to be respected and appreciated for who they are and should be. That certainly does not mean vile actions should be either respected or appreciated by anyone who commits them. Society has or should have the responsibility of administering justice.
People always talk about equal rights, they never talk about equal responsibilities. Yeah, because Islam is Feminism. 60% of all men, throughout history, have never had the "other." What's in it for them? There's always invitro... Right, but some organs are more equal than others. You can stand to lose a kidney or some lymph nodes, but without a working brain you're screwed. Now that you mention it. But I wasn't discussing kinship relations. I was talking about social value as conferred on biological sex. There's a reason the farmer keeps 49 cows and 1 bull. Okay. Should the NBA open tryouts for people who are 5'3 with muscular dystrophy? No, everyone does not deserve an equal opportunity to do everything. Simon Cowel has made a career out of the entertaining madness that ensues from such a ridiculous idea. No it doesn't. Who told you that? But there isn't a diversity of notes. Most music is highly formalized, and many instruments don't go well with other instruments. Violin isn't a popular lead instrument for blues. There are 12 notes in western music, only 7 of which are generally allowed in any key (counting the octave makes 8). Playing G#Maj in the Key of C is generally pretty discordant. Try it, C, Am, G#Maj...sounds totally naff. Thats some diversity we could live without.
The same is true of colors. There are color schemes, and color hierarchies. Some colors just don't fit in and need to be excluded from the palette...
Do you even paint bra? Vacuous.
Yep. Thats the crux of it right there... Everyone wants it a one-way street.
btw, that would be: 'muh' new hero.
Talk is cheap. Deeds are golden."the powers and functions of each (women and men) is the complement of each other." -Abdu'l-Baha You seem to assume Abdu'l-Baha is Islam. He is a Baha'i and holds a most unique station. He was persecuted by the leaders of Islam since He was 8 years old and spent His life as a prisoner and exile because of the fanatical Islamic leaders.
God's Bounty is for all and gives power for all progress. When men own the equality of women there will be no need for them to struggle for their rights! One of the principles then of Bahรก'u'llรกh is the equality of sex. (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 163)
As long as women are prevented from attaining their highest possibilities, so long will men be unable to achieve the greatness which might be theirs. (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 134)
His Holiness Bahรก'u'llรกh has greatly strengthened the cause of women, and the rights and privileges of women is one of the greatest principles of 'Abdu'l-Bahรก. Rest ye assured! Ere long the days shall come when the men addressing the women, shall say: 'Blessed are ye! Blessed are ye! Verily ye are worthy of every gift. Verily ye deserve to adorn your heads with the crown of everlasting glory, because in sciences and arts, in virtues and perfections ye shall become equal to man, and as regards tenderness of heart and the abundance of mercy and sympathy ye are superior'. (Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 181)
To the women of the world โBlessed are ye! Blessed are ye!โ Happy International Womenโs Day March 8!
How could a woman or man reach their full potential without the other?60% of all men, throughout history, have never had the "other." What's in it for them?
It was their choice or was forced upon them like the countless girls forced to marry old men, children/teens sold in sex trade, fgm, etc. When there are equal rights and opportunities for all, things will change. How could one be born without one or the other coming together of a mother and father? Women and men are equally important and when one is removed from the family, the family is broken. If women and man do not unite to make a family, society will come to an end. Inviable

The importance of the whole should not give way to the importance of a part. This creates an imbalance and history if full of the disastrous consequences of governments and religious leaders creating such imbalances. My understanding of the word complement does not mean that quality required to improve or make something complete or better is more or less important than what it adds to.
Each family member is complement the other. Your question of "who is the base state" seems to imply every family member is lower than someone else. The farmer uses the different capacities of animals for benefit. If the farmer was to look focus on what the animals cannot do and neglect the capacities, there suddenly be no farm. Everyone and thing has different capacities which are infinitely varied. Everyoneโs capacity should be valued. No group of people excels in all capacities above another group. Everyone should be appreciated for who they are and what they are able to do to benefit society, not judged for what they are unable to do. Countless people who are handicapped in various ways bring joy to the world because they are valued and given the opportunity to serve mankind. Who is so excellent in all capacities that they can judge others? To judge any group of people is like someone saying โeveryone is going to hell unless they are in my religionโ, โMy country and government are the best.โ โMy race is the bestโ. โOnly what I think will work.โ โI am the most important person.โ It is time to get detached from that thinking which have been idols.
We donโt know our own capacity, how can we even think to judge others? The capacity and willingness to help society is what should be prized. History is full of people who had great capacities and used them destructively. Don't you believe in equal rights and opportunities for family members or does sexual orientation have to be considered putting one over the other? The integrity of the family bond must be constantly considered, and the rights of the individual members must not be transgressed. The rights of the son, the father, the motherโnone of them must be transgressed, none of them must be arbitrary. Just as the son has certain obligations to his father, the father, likewise, has certain obligations to his son. The mother, the sister and other members of the household have certain prerogatives. All these rights and prerogatives must be conserved, yet the unity of the family must be sustained. The injury of one shall be considered the injury of all; the comfort of each, the comfort of all; the honor of one, the honor of all.(โAbduโl-Bahรก, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 168)
Diversity and appreciation for it gives meaning to life. The appreciation for diversity is something I experienced and didnโt have to be told. My education really began when realizing the beauty in diversity. Coming from a very prejudiced family, I was able to see the beauty in those my family were prejudiced against. Although my father was extremely prejudiced against those of African and Asian descent, some of my closest friends are Asians and Africans and my wife is Asian. One of my children when very young asked my wife expectedly โWhen are we going to turn black?โ That was a confirmation we were doing a good job at teaching the children diversity My 5 children all appreciate diversity. In all things, it is better to see potential verse limitation. When potential is the focus, there is motivation. Seeing potential is how inventions and great things happen. Appreciation for diversity prompted me to explore reality verses judging it from my limited perception of it. The best motivator for people is to encourage them by telling them what they are good at, not their faults or weakness which we all have. My boss was wonderful, anyone she called into the office, she told them the good they were doing and then gently told them what they needed to change if change was needed and then continued to praise the worker. Workers took more pride in their job which showed in reports. People work for money but will sacrifice some money for job satisfaction.
Prejudice of race, national, religion, sex, etc is in essence judging God for how God created humanity. People did not have a choice how they were born. It is the opposites and diversity that educates and brings people together including male and male.
What is the meaning and motive for this comment?
The world of humanity has two wingsโone is women and the other men. Not until both wings are equally developed can the bird fly. Should one wing remain weak, flight is impossible. Not until the world of women becomes equal to the world of men in the acquisition of virtues and perfections, can success and prosperity be attained as they ought to be.(โAbduโl-Bahรก, Selections from the Writings of โAbduโl-Bahรก, p. 301)

... only if punished?!! Wtf
Women and men can each be compared to the letters in the alphabet, each 13 letters. Neither can make all the words needed without the other's 13 letters. What is important is how to create unity of people not opinions that divide them. Women and men have some of the same qualities but also different qualities which needs to be respected. Trust is built on honesty and mutural respect.
Have you got whips and stilettos on the mind again?
Bit of an oxymoron... Can women own the equality of men too?

And the gender sentence gap is not negligible:
"After controlling for the arrest offense, criminal history, and other prior characteristics, "men receive 63% longer sentences on average than women do," and "women areโฆtwice as likely to avoid incarceration if convicted." This gender gap is about six times as large as the racial disparity that Prof. Starr found in another recent paper."
Starr, "Estimating Gender Disparities in Federal Criminal Cases", 2012

The disparity is even worse when they are whatever age when they meet in court.
So, how about basing sentences on a percentage of reasonable life expectancy for a person of that age and sex?

Right. So someone who murders while mentally ill deserves the same as someone who plans it cold-bloodedly?
Someone who is born with no legs has to climb the stairs just like everyone else?
The rich should use the bus just like everyone else? (And be subject to the law just like everyone else? - dream on!)
Fatuous right-wing misogynist nonsense, AKA bullshit, like the rest of a small but ugly proportion of items on SOTT.
How do you define mental illness?
"Someone who is born with no legs has to climb the stairs just like everyone else?"
Apples and oranges. What does it have to do with criminal law?
Why should a woman guilty of the same crime as a man be treated more leniently just because she's a woman? That's the point of the article.
Just another tactic in the subversion of the West.

(Abdu'l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 181)
I learned so much about the strength of women from my wife, the mother of my five children It was not in what she said, but what she did that impressed me. Her treatment of children and everyone she came across was such a wonderful example for everyone. She died of cancer shortly after receiving a degree in early childhood education. As we can only take the good we do of this world to the next, it is certain she brought her love of children and is educating tender young souls who passed on in the next world. Goodness never dies. It is like a light beam that goes on forever. Evil is the absence of light and cannot be brought to the next world but it does take away from the light one has.
The physical strength that was once valued faded to nothing when observing my wife's love and devotion not only to children but everyone she came across. That love she had is found much more in women than men. Throughout history, women have done much more to bring love to mankind than men. Love is strength. In the Bible it says: "God is love." I am grateful to my wife for the loving spirit she instilled into our 5 children.
If there is only enough resources to send one child to school, it should be a girl versus a boy as the female is much more likely to share her education with her children even after a hard day at work. (is there any work harder than that of a mother?)There are strength and weakness in both sexes but women excel in love which is evident as the noon day sun. Women willingly sacrifice so much more than men for children and have greater moral courage. Credit is long overdue for the willing sacrifices of women for children and humanity. No job is more important than a mother's.
The traditional thinking that men are somehow more important is nothing more than ignorance at best. When women enjoy equal rights and opportunities, all of humanity will benefit. How is it possible for humanity to excel when education is held back from the first and primary educators of children, ie women?
The world of humanity has two wings -- one is women and the other men. Not until both wings are equally developed can the bird fly. Should one wing remain weak, flight is impossible. Not until the world of women becomes equal to the world of men in the acquisition of virtues and perfections, can success and prosperity be attained as they ought to be.

Blessed are ye LindaMay! Truly, Ekim (mikE)
Being part of an institutional observatory on gender violences, I read this bit very differently. When it says "The impact of imprisonment on women, more than half of whom have themselves been victims of serious crime, is especially damaging and their outcomes are worse than men's.", one should read "women emprisonned are victims themselves, and this is currently the case in most situations".
Mind you, the French stats show that when women ARE the offenders, when they have assaulted men, or killed them, they were in 69% victims of serious illtreatment by the persons they have offended prior to the crime.
69% is NOT a SMALL STAT, for those used to manipulate them, it's a very SIGNIFICANT one.
It basically means that when a woman is charged for a serious offense, she acted the way she did in order to protect her kids or to save her own life.
In that case, INDEED, the impact of imprisonnement is specially damaging. This is actually what's written in plain light.
Take a rest and think of it, please.
(By the way : statistics for domestic violence, rape, pornographie, prostitution etc. are pretty much similar in USA, Brittain & France)
In society today, what could be more important than the education and protection of children and those who spend the most time with them? Why isn't more being done to stop fgm, force child marriages, forced adult marriages, forced prostitution, rape, human trafficking, slave labor, malnutrition in pregnancy and children, etc? Why isn't this a focus in SOTT?
What good person would be content doing nothing while the rights and education of much more than half the population are being withheld? Children are equally harmed witnessing the abuse and/or lack or rights their mothers suffer.
Happy INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Nang .
