Russian political analyst Valeriy Piakin

This episode is taken off political analyst's Valeriy Piakin's channel - his explanation of recent events confirms what many suspect. In the past few months, an unusual amount of individuals in pro-Russian fields of work have passed away. Starting with Arsen Pavlov (Motorola), a Commander in the Donbass region, followed by Russian Ambassadors to Turkey and India; Mikhail Tolstyh (Givi) - another high ranking Commander in the Donbass, and now - Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin. Piakin's explanation posits that all of these individuals were victims of US intelligence operations - but why?

The intention, according to Piakin, is to remove individuals who stand for the Minsk agreement, so that it can no longer realistically be implemented. The Minsk Agreement (a ceasefire, followed by elections and self-determination in Eastern Ukraine) is counterproductive to the elites' work.

If Piakin is correct, then those who defend Minsk - whether on the battlefield or through the information war - have reason to be concerned for their safety. People like Zakharchenko of the Donbass as well as Russia's extended diplomatic community should ramp up their security against espionage.

The Russians aren't serious...If they were serious they would be declare Syria their allies and their protectorate and implement a no-fly zone over the whole of Syria and blow anything out of the sky and water that threatens Syrian Independence and Sovereignty.

They would tell the world the truth about the Holocaust.

Declare Donbass and Lugansk part of Russia just to mention a few things.

They could be buying time or some other political psy-op game at this stage or worse still be a part of the show.

But at this stage they aren't serious.

Time will reveal all.

If their diplomats are being bumped of by the CIA then a bit of old fashioned tit for tat is in order.

Well they sort of did after the US bombed the SAA in Deir ez-Zor in September. The Russian military said that anyone attacking the SAA will be shot down. They also deployed more S 300, S 400 missiles to prevent such mistakes happening again. They said something like any illusions by amatuers about the existence of invisible planes will face a disappointing reality .

The thing is, they are going about their plans quitely and successfully, and i think that is how they want to continue. They are not hotheads like the Americans. Expect more of the same i reckon. Revenge is a dish best served cold. Right?

The "whole" of Syria should be under Russia's protection same as NATO countries under USA.

The law is on their side.

Hotheads will exploit their weakneses because they know the Russians are all bark at this stage.

The whole scenario is a ungodly mess to be honest but judging from their actions I don't trust them at all...

It's not just Syria it's the other things I mentioned too.

lysna Well i disagree, Assad is still in power, right? That is there main objective in Syria. And wiping out ISIS/Nusra.

The US hasn't attacked the SAA since the above mentioned incident. The US backed down actually, after all the threats and so on. This ain't gonna resolve over night. The Russians seem to be holding out for some sense in the whitehouse via Trump i think. They may have a long wait as Trump ain't in control of the deep state. But Russia's actions in Syria were a big step for Russia. They were testing some weapons as well. They are hoping for a political solution, not a military one. Very different from the US. This is being observed by others. The only law here is who has the biggest and most guns. Thats the law.

Yes the whole thing is a mess, but Russia can't be blamed for that. If Russia never entered into this conflict, it would be much worse.

The other things you mention may come to pass yet, particularly the Donbass. But geopolitical events unfold over larger timeframes and we can only see the surface, we don't know what is really going on underneath.

lysna By the way I'm glad you disagree...It challenges my perceptions but I have no faith in any power...Trump...Putin...Obama...Hillary etc.

History and life has taught me a hard lesson that I'll never forget.

I'm not waiting for a Redeemer from any of the current PTB...However I hope I'm proved as wrong as wrong can be.

But Assad currently is still in power in the western portion of Syria. Thats where most Syrians live who are still in the country. If Russia didn't intervene he would be gone by now. So would the most of the people there.

You may well be right. We will just have to see how things pan out. My take is the Eurasian powers are building an alternative to the western system. Like the AIIB to replace the IMF. Trade in their own currencies, instead of the dollar. An alternative to the SWIFT system. Their own credit rating agencies, instead of Moody's, Fitch and Standard & Poor's. An alternative to Google etc, etc. But this will take several years to build. When the infrastructure is in place, they will pull the plug on the western system. But at the moment, step by step. Thats what i reckon anyway. The SCO, EEU, will become a defensive block like Nato. Geeze, sounds Orwellian doesn't it?
