Britain's Scotland Yard has been given the names of two more former government ministers accused of sexually abusing children, who are now added to the 22 others already involved in a high-profile pedophile scandal.

The two additional names were reported to police after campaigning lawmaker John Mann was approached by a victim claiming to have been abused by the politicians, British Daily Mail reported on Sunday.

Mann said the victim had given detailed information about the abuse by the two politicians, of whom one was a peer, saying the indecent incidents took place in the 1980s.

The lawmaker said a number of retired Special Branch detectives who have witnessed the incidents could be "absolutely critical" in providing vital information to an investigation. The lawmaker added that, however, due to restrictions under the Official Secrets Act, the retired detectives are worried to give testimonies, as they could face up to 14 years in prison if they breach the legislation by revealing sensitive information.

He called on Home Secretary Theresa May to lift the restrictions and grant the former detectives an unprecedented amnesty, which would allow them to speak freely about the events they have witnessed.

"It is clear there are a lot of people who could provide a lot of information, potentially vital information, to support ongoing criminal investigations," said Mann.

"They are fearful of not only breaking the law but the potential effect on their pension," said Mann, adding that a lift "is absolutely crucial if we are to get some of these ex-officers coming forward and to get prosecutions of some of the former MPs."

The new allegations of child abuse by the former government ministers emerged after Mann handed a carefully-researched dossier about five pedophile rings to police with the names of 22 MPs, including three serving lawmakers and three members of the House of Lords.
