Albert Einstein was correct about technology?

Jim got this email forward from a listener and had to share this one. It looks as if Albert Einstein was right. Albert Einstein was fearful of the growth of technology and its effect on the human race.Here is Albert Einstein's quote:

"I fear the day when the technology overlaps with our humanity. The world will only have a generation of idiots."

Now keep that quote in mind and look at the photos below and tell us that Albert Einstein's prophecy years ago hasn't come true.

The perfect computer game is one that addicts completely, rendering the player non-functional in immediate societal surroundings. In those pictures, the players are out to lunch.
Society, for it's part, has failed to come up with operating principles, leaving the operators of such devices in a void.
For all the situations depicted, make the rule that all cell phones are turned off.
There is a time and a place for everything.
Driving and operating a phone is just plain stupid, and sometimes deadly.

You have to wonder?

In Florida they just pasted a law finally making it illegal to text while driving, the kicker is that it is a secondary offense which means they cannot stop a person for texting, they have to be stopped for some other reason. It would be polite to describe the Florida Legislature as idiots.

In reality though Nap, that is not a problem. Establishing probable cause for a traffic stop is easily accomplished. There are many traffic laws that provide for just that purpose.

There are some states where it is illegal to even talk on a cellphone without a hands free device. Operating a phone while driving IS stupid. What amazes me is that in an age of 'smart phones' certainly the technology exists to make it impossible to use the phone while driving. Instead more laws are created that reinforce our stupidity and ignorance, generate more money for the state and even open up a whole new market for 'smart cars' that can do your texting for you while you keep both hands on the wheel.

Idiotic Legislature no doubt, and it really does make me wonder!

I lean towards assimilation in the case of the present-day mode of use of the cell phone.

What a terrible

Picture this portrays of the state of humanity, and this is the norm in my experience, even in the workplace.

Are we becoming nothing more than an extension of the hand held machines that we covet. Actual face to face confrontation and interactions are not something desirable any more OSIT.

It's so much easier to use a machine to out someone, defame or confront without the physical interactions or the emotional connection that would ensue. Have we forgotten how to think and even feel emotions any more. Instead reams of mechanistic thought are exchanged every second, minute and hour of the day.

Does communication have be accomplished in a nanosecond? Is there no pause for thought anymore?

Granted that they do serve a useful purpose in emergency situations, but taken as a whole this is the exception when one considers the amount of cell phone usage that occurs on a daily basis. We did manage before the advent of cell phones. Look at the major disasters that have occurred in recent years. I don't recall that a cell phone was of significant benefit.

As someone told me

years ago, when cell phones were changing from an expensive luxury to a common tool for the masses, "The only people who "need" cell phones are pimps and drug dealers". They talk about the dangers of radiation from the phones, but there's never any mention of the effect they're having on the Schumann resonance---and on humanity, as a result of it.

No one is allowed to use a mobile phone in a car Australia except via handsfree. Now one state has legislated that you cannot even touch it once the motor is started. Studies here have shown that even handsfree is dangerous too because you are not concentrating on driving while involved in a conversation.
