"We have about 50% of the world's wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. To do so, we will have to dispense with all sentimentality and day-dreaming; and our attention will have to be concentrated everywhere on our immediate national objectives. We need not deceive ourselves that we can afford today the luxury of altruism and world-benefaction."

Soy is not only GMO and chemically processed with toxic chemicals in order to break it down enough to be edible, but it is highly indigestible (except for the miso and natto described above). That is why it often causes inordinate amount of bloating and gas. It is about as bad as any food can be. And remember, in places like Japan, they use it as a CONDIMENT, not as a major food group. In the US, shockingly, "health food" stores have been marketing it for years as an alternative to meat. People who are health conscious (but not good researchers) have been sold on this lie (and the lies about canola and agave syrup). Canola is almost all GMO, grown in Canada, and agave nectar is just corn syrup made from cactus - granted, not gmo, but still high fructose that will spike blood sugar unnecessarily. Try honey or maple syrup How it is that "health food" stores have played such a role in this deceit, well, can't even conceive of why (if they keep their customers healthy, they'd live to buy more products). Note also that most chocolate has soy in it (in the form of soy lecithin) ... why do they "need" to put soy in chocolate? When there are no other artificial ingredients of any kind, soy lecithin is still added. Can't imagine what it does, but can only imagine another non-gmo, gluten free option is available, right???
