Researchers and historians from Glasgow University conducted the first non-invasive survey of The King's Knot, a geometrical earthwork in the former royal gardens in May and June.
The site, which has been described as looking like a cup and saucer, has been cloaked in mystery for years.
Their findings show there was indeed a round feature on the site that pre-dates the visible earthworks.
"Archaeologists using remote-sensing geophysics, have located remains of a circular ditch and other earth works beneath the King's Knot," the Telegraph quoted John Harrison, chair of the Stirling Local History Society (SLHS), who initiated the project, as saying.
"The finds show that the present mound was created on an older site and throws new light on a tradition that King Arthur's Round Table was located in this vicinity," he added.
The Round Table is King Arthur's famed table in the Arthurian legend, around which he and his Knights congregate.
As its name suggests, it has no head, implying that everyone who sits there has equal status.
The table was first described in 1155 by Wace, who relied on previous depictions of Arthur's fabulous retinue.
The symbolism of the Round Table developed over time; by the close of the 12th century it had come to represent the chivalric order associated with Arthur's court, the Knights of the Round Table.

agree with arctic circle king arthur is just a story, was quite dissapointed when I went to Arthurs so called castle in cornwall. Part of the tour tells you that it was a story concocted by cathlic monks!
Please check out the work by Baram Blackett who checked out Welsh Histories (as taught until 1920's) which tells us of 2 King Arthurs. There is a lot of stuff on U-tube and he has published a number of books.
This rubbishing of King Arthur seems to date from the time that German aristocracy was imported to England.
He also was able to show that Etruscan and other script is identical to the allegedly fraudulent Coelbren script that is found on old Welsh monuments.
He gives a plausible argument that the original British migrated from Ur, to be later joined by Brutus (the Trojan) in another later wave.
It seems the Romans accepted this history btw.
He points out that Greek and Roman written histories are given credibility whereas the Welsh written histories are dismissed as stories.
Its all part of the cover up and might prove a fruitful connection for those investigating the Annunaki.
He also suggests that when the great comet devastated Britain in the 6th century AD, that there was a migration to America. Which would explain why some Amerindians spoke Welsh and left artifacts containing Coelbren script.
Arthur is the Arcturus the Bear (see him standing next to Leo? Because that is where Arcturus is located, near "Leo" constellation), and the Pendragon is another sign found on this 1200 B.C. Kassite stele found in the Louvre:

Now, compare that to the story of "David" wanting to bed "Bathsheba" as he views here at dusk (Venus/Istar)....he does, then he sends her husband Uriah to war/battle and his death.
A Kassite tale tells of Istar playing a Harp into "Battle"...
Now compare that to the Sumerian tale in Gilgamesh of "Ushtar" (Istar, pronounced as Ishtar btw) giving birth to "Adapa" the first human.
Comparative Mythology: read your Joseph Campbell...open your eyes.
Sorry to ruffle Faithfeathers here...but for goodness sakes, we aren't modern people? There was no Arthur, there was no David, Solomon, Istar, etc...they were Neolithic myths to explain the heavens.
And @ these Kassite steles:In the ancient times, a king was called "Lord" as in "My Lord" (UK being an modern example of an anachronism) and Kassite kings gave away land to favored subjects..and marked the land with these stele....this land was Babylon that they had conquered.
As in "My (god) Lord GAVE US THESE LANDS!!!"
Sound familiar?????????????????? Thieves committing genocide today to steal lands use this ancient source....but the god was EA...YA AND many many others, including "Ya's Asherah" aka ISHTAR.
Look closely: King Arthur stands right here...the "real one" an astrological MYTH.
Now, all THAT said...there were real kings and queens that PLAYED A ROLE and RE-ENACTED the myths. Over and over again......I can name a DOZEN "Solomon" kings easily...long before the one the OT thinks is "real."
THAT is where the confusion of myth and reality derive from...but I ain't tellin' ya all my secrets...
