Alison Weir, Executive Director of "If Americans Knew" criticizes news blackout in the United States about confirmed reports that 81 members of the U.S. Congress went on AIPAC-funded junkets to Israel.

"It's extraordinary right now; there is a situation in the United States in which 81 American Congressional representatives are going on trips to Israel being sponsored by an organization that is part of the Israel lobby. This is almost 20 percent of the American Congress going on trips that are meant specifically to influence their vote," Weir told Press TV's U.S. Desk on Wednesday.

"It should be important news. All Americans should know about this and yet the mainstream media is not reporting it at all. The Associated Press which is the number one source of international news ... chose not to report about it. The New York Times is not reporting on it. ABC, CBS, NBC, none of them has had any news broadcast," Weir added.

"It's a very troubling situation because Americans need to know how their elected representatives are being influenced," Weir concluded.
