So, here's something interesting. My roommates cat will do the same thing to all small clothing items I leave lying around my room while I am at work or away. She is a Bombay (black fur with small white tuff of hair on chest) and she especially loves to steal my socks. I have watched her do this many times in the open, usually it starts when my roommate leaves the house. She (her name is Chili) starts by meowing really loud like she is looking for something, or someone; as if she is looking for her young. Then more often than not she sneaks into my room and nabs whatever article of clothing she can find and carries it downstairs to my roommates area. It seems like she is doing it in some wayward motherly instinct, like she is carrying her young back to a safe haven. Super weird. I've always thought it was because maybe she grew up without a loving influence seeing she came to us by way of a pet shop at an early age, or that it was just kind of an instinctual thing. But to see another cat carry things in the same way Chili carries my socks around the house makes me wonder....
