The room being hung around with a collection of the portraits of remarkable men, among them were those of Bacon, Newton and Locke. Hamilton asked me who they were. I told him they were my trinity of the three greatest men the world had ever produced, naming them. He paused for some time: "The greatest man," said he, "that ever lived, was Julius Caesar."

I just finished reading Gary Webb's stunning 600 page expose of the CIA/DEA efforts in flooding the inner cities of the US with crack - to finance the CONTRA war in Nicaragua... against another legitimately elected government. Webb's investigative journalism is impeccable, and is a most complementary read to L. Fletcher Prouty's, The Secret Team. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking the objective realities of our world. For Webb's efforts, he was blacklisted by the print media. In 2005 he was found in his hotel room, having committed suicide by way of two gunshot wounds to the head.
Another complimentary piece is John Pilger's excellent documentary film, The War on Democracy. [Link]am watching it today. I will need a hot shower afterward. The Central and South American CIA station chief's interviews have left a sheen of vileness on me.
