Location of Sighting: Lymm, Cheshire
Date of Sighting: 25 April 2010
Time: 2115

Witness Statement: At approximately 9:15pm on the 25th April 2010, I was sitting in my living room of my apartment. The curtains in the room were open and whilst watching T.V, from the window which points in a S.E direction I noticed a bright orange trail shoot up into the sky. My attention was drawn to the light, thinking at first that it was a rocket style firework. Being quite strange for time of year, I watched waiting for the firework to explode. The object continued to climb, but I was able to determine that it had now reached the cloudbase, which was only just visible in the near dark conditions. The object entered the cloud and could be seen fading as it appeared to climb higher. Then the object dropped back out of the cloud, dropping again at high speed. As I watched, it became apparent that there were two distinct orange trails coming from the object as it dropped. The object then appeared to hover just over the roofline, but some way off in the distance of houses on the adjacent street.

Whilst hovering, the object dropped two very small pin prick lights and grew in size quite rapidly to approximately twice the previous size and appeared to look like two very bright flickering diamond shapes next to each other. It then climbed again at high speed, ducking in and out of the clouds. It then appeared to move in the direction of my house, before making a long crescent shaped turn, accelerating and heading up and away once again. It then, whilst moving at speed, made some very sharp, short turns in a number of directions before traveling at huge speed over the top of my house and out of sight. There was no sound at any time. I was able to see the object for at least 10 seconds before it moved out of sight.

The window looks directly towards Manchester Airport and I am more than familiar with aircraft taking off from there and heading over this direction. The object traveled at speeds way exceeding those of normal passenger aircraft and maneuvered in a manner akin to a helicopter making drastic turns. I also work in airport operations and am familiar with departure tracks for aircraft within Manchester's airspace at that time of night. The object was not on any track I am familiar with.

From what I could tell, this was moving at supersonic speeds, but was not turning in the sky in a manner akin to that of any aircraft I know of.

I would love to know what it was, or if anyone else saw it?
