Location of Sighting: B941 south of Elgin
Date of Sighting: 23 March
Time: 2030 approx

Witness Statement: Driving home when the kids asked what the huge ball of fire in the sky was. Pulled the car into a lay-by to make a call as I thought it was a plane on fire (it was as high as a plane would be and large) but then realised that whatever it was, was still traveling at speed, North towards Elgin and was not falling from the sky or breaking up as an aircraft disaster would. Whatever it was traveled fast enough that it took less than a minute or two to travel from where we first noticed it, a few miles south of Elgin and disappear into the distance over the Moray Firth, there was no wind and the sky was clear.

It was far too huge, high and bright to be a lantern and could not have been a meteor as it traveled as some sort of craft would. Anyone got a sensible explanation for this? Have no photos, sorry, was too stunned and too busy trying to tell the kids there is no such things as alien spaceships.
