Location of Sighting: Rochdale
Date of Sighting: 27/3/2010
Time: 10pm-11pm roughly

Witness Statement: Went out for a drive with my friend [name removed] and we stopped on Springhill Park where there's like a bus shelter type thing. to have a cig. I just looked across the field for no apparent reason and saw 3 dark red lights in a triangle shape a fair distance apart and they were over some hills in the distance (about 4-7 miles away). I pointed them out to my mate who could also see them. the strange thing was the lights where solid no flickering or flashing and didn't have that shine like lights have (them very faint lines you can see coming from the light like rays) they where just solid, and a really weird red colour.

They moved quite fast and joined together following a straight line to the right. Then they slowly disappeared (like going behind a cloud) but it was a very clear night. As they disappeared another came up from the hill to the left of where I saw the original lights and followed like a arch shape upwards and followed exactly the same path the others went. Not 1mm off course. And another appeared from the hill, following same path again. 2 more appeared one after the other again following the same path spot on. Then 2 more again appeared from the hill but the red lights on these 2 where bigger and the two also had a smaller orange light a mm under them. Again not flashing or flickering and didn't have the light rays you usually see from lights.

Now I know for a fact these weren't planes as the lights where such a weird colour and planes don't lift off from hills like that or disappear. Couldn't have been a helicopter as the speed they took off from the hill was too fast for helicopter speed and I've never known several helicopters to fly in exactly same line. Couldn't have been flares as the light from a flare is totally different and flares don't then fly straight and if several flares were fired there's no chance they could follow the same line. Me and my friend therefore decided to go and drive to the location where they looked to be from. When we got up the hill the windfarms at the end of Norden just before Rossendale (ufo hotspot iv read up on net) not a cloud in the sky and no sign of these lights anywhere at all. When we were watching them I felt so strange. Maybe because I've never seen anything like this before in my whole life. Was so strange. Also there was no aircraft noises at all. Could only hear sound of a motorway nearby.
