Three UFO reports from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database seem to be related as multiple sightings from one person and one from a second and independent source.

All three reports were filed with MUFON on March 25, 2010, relating to different incidents.

The first report recounts a sighting that a 31-year-old and his 12-year-old son had on January 31, 2010. The two were returning to Illinois from a trip to St. Louis when they saw what first appeared to be an "airplane on fire."

They report that the object moved directly over them and shocked them.

In a second report, the witness describes again driving home and seeing "the exact same bright lights, but this time it was much closer to the ground and stationary."

The witness writes in this unedited quote:

"It resembled a claw, kinda like the ones you use to win prizes at carnivals. Except it had four "claws". neon blue lights at the tip of each one, they were hard to see until I got close, the shape of the claws were seemingly designed to hide the light. Once I drove under the craft I noticed it had four white lights under the very center of the craft. these were not the same bright lights that I noticed from far away, those were like headlights and there were five of those, small outside lights medium sized towards the center and one big light in the center. The four white lights under the center had a small red light directly in the center of them, this was also the center of the bottom of the craft. Once I passed the craft, I could not see it any more when I looked back."

Then there is a third report, where the reporting witness states that he is the person who reported the January 31 sighting from he and his son, and he now has another witness who saw the same thing at the same location.

Illinois MUFON State Director Sam Maranto was reached by telephone this evening and reports that there are two independent adult witnesses. Maranto said that both sightings occurred along I-55 near Collinsville, IL.

"If there are any more witnesses out there to this craft," Maranto said, "I am asking that they get in touch directly with me. One of these witnesses was within 50 feet of this craft, so it's not a light in the sky. It's a close, visual encounter."

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Illinois MUFON State Director Sam Maranto investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

Illinois, January 31, 2010 - driving home from st. louis and me and my son both saw something. MUFON Case # 22480.

I tried to get a hold of you guys the day after it happened but I could only use my cell phone. Got a message back but when I tried to follow up I received no more messages. Me and my son were driving home from St.Louis. He's 12, I'm 31. On the interstate still within view of the arch behind us my son pointed out jokingly that an "airplane was on fire". I looked up and it was up in the air in front of us not moving. We looked at it. I was trying to find anything to explain it off as an airplane or helicopter but I couldn't. It started moving and went right over top of us. It shocked us so much that we turned around to get a better look. By the time we turned around it went over Topv Cahokia Mounds, a local Native American earthen pyramid site. And was over top East St. Louis in a matter of a second. We were driving roughly toward it, back towards St.Louis when it lit up very bright and shot toward Lambert Airporet. In that direction anyway. Now the reason I am e mailing you now is because just last night my friend saw the exact same thing in the exact same spot. I never showed him the pictures that me and my son drew of the craft. His drawing was about 90% the same as my son's. I would HIGHLY appreciate a connection with someone in the St. Louis area that I could go into more detail about this. It was the second time I've seen this craft in the same area. I saw it about two years ago in the exact same spot as well but wrote it off as an airplane. My phone number is *** *** ****. I would really like to talk to anyone about this to see if anyone else has experienced this in the same area. I don't know if it has anything to do with the ancient Native American site or the arch in St. Louis or Lambert Airport, or even Scott Air Force Base. I would like to keep this anonymous please. I don't want my son getting anything from kids at his school.

Illinois, March 24, 2010 - saw this while driving last night. could not believe my eyes! MUFON Case # 22496.

About a month or two ago while driving home from St Louis , I noticed bright lights from what I thought was an airplane. I have never seen bright lights on an airplane like this and I lived in that area my whole life. The lights turned and moved slowly away from me and I assumed it was just an airplane or helicopter.

Last night while driving home I saw the exact same bright lights, but this time it was much closer to the ground and stationary. As I approached this object I was waiting for the moment when I could tell myself "its just a plane". I didn't get to do that. It was some sort of space ship or unknown something! Looked like it was not of this world. It resembled a claw, kinda like the ones you use to win prizes at carnivals. Except it had four "claws". Neon blue lights at the tip of each one, they were hard to see until I got close, the shape of the claws were seemingly designed to hide the light. Once I drove under the craft I noticed it had four white lights under the very center of the craft. One last thing is the physical part of this craft was blacker than the night sky. I got a real good look at this thing and will attach a sketch as soon as possible.

Illinois, March 25, 2010 - friend described seeing exact same thing in exact same place on highway. MUFON Case # 22500.

I posted a sighting me and my son had on Jan 31 earlier today. The reason I am posting this so late is because it was an isolated incident. Now a trusted friend of mine told me this morning that he saw something in the sky in the same place where me and my son saw our event. The strange thing about this is I never told him what this object looked like. He started to describe what he saw and then drew it. I was astonished to see an almost identical drawing of the one my son drew the night we saw our object. I told him to draw and write down as much as he could while it was still fresh in his head. It is remarkable how close these two pictures are. This object was on the same stretch of road that me and my son saw it. I don't know why this object is in the area so much but it seems to be there quite a bit. What is also amazing is we saw this thing hovering over the interstate with numerous lights shining and standing still directly over the interstate and all the cars were passing under it like nothing was there. I'm puzzled. and don't know who to call or talk to about this as it is the first time I've decided to come forward about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
