Duke Energy is developing a large electrical substation within shouting distance of Kituwah, Mother Town of the Cherokee. Please call the NC Utilities Commission at 1-866-380-9816 to protest Duke Energy's destruction of this environmentally sensitive Sacred Site.

Comment: A new field of science called solastalgia attempts to explain the profound psychological damage that is done when people's connection to the land they love is broken. According to the article "Is there an ecological unconscious", people's minds are inexorably linked to their surroundings:
"solastalgia," a combination of the Latin word solacium (comfort) and the Greek root - algia (pain), ... defined as "the pain experienced when there is recognition that the place where one resides and that one loves is under immediate assault...
Unfortunately, this experience has relentlessly repeated itself in the history of indigenous peoples around the world and continues unbroken, as we see, today.
The automated message I got was "You've dialed a number that cannot be reached from your calling area." The other number listed on their website did go through, but you have to call them during normal business hours to register a complaint. That number is 1-919-733-9277
I was on a construction crew some 25 years ago that was building a retaining wall for Duke Power, right beside a large lake (in North Carolina).
Those retaining walls hold back some pretty nasty stuff. To my untrained eye, it looked like it was designed to "fail" due to natural forces and dump the toxic residue into the lake, thus saving clean up costs when it filled up.
Believing the illusion that NC Utilities Commission will listen to the little people who call in is like believing the lies of the psychopath again and again. This is all done for a song and a dance. Calling in will accomplish nothing. This is one of many simultaneous attacks by power or mining companies on sacred lands in the US right now.
What needs to be looked at and understood is the laws that have been passed regarding true ownership of the land when our country was bankrupted by the international bankers and EVERYTHING (people aka human resources and land) was pledged as collateral:
Senate Doc. #43, Senate Resolution No. 62 (Pg 9, Para 2) April 17, 1933
"The ultimate ownership of ALL PROPERTY is in the State; individual so-called "ownership" is only by virtue of Government, i.e. law, amounting to mere user and the use must be in accordance with law and SUBORDINATE TO THE NECESSITIES of that State."
As "citizens" of the US, we are subjects. There is no real "ownership" of anything and many people are beginning to discover this. Even the Native Americans are on Indian Trust Lands and must be "federally recognized." So who holds the prominent position?

In all probability the odds of the NC Utilities listening to the voices of the little people may be quite low.
SPEAK OUT ANYWAY.
"Even though the truth is that All Property is in the State..."ownership" is only by virtue of Government....and SUBORDINATE TO THE NECESSITIES of that State..."
SPEAK OUT ANYWAY
One never knows how far one's voice will carry, or who ultimately will hear the words.
Maybe no one.
But it is an absolute certainty that if no one speaks out, no one will ever hear what has to be said.
In the meantime, there is an organization that helps communities by educating them how to use U.S. corporate law against the corporations. Their website is [Link]
What happened to Kennedy is nearly what happened to me. America is in danger of upheavals. But you'll see. All of them together will observe the law of silence. They will close ranks. They'll do everything to stifle the scandal. They will throw Noah's cloak over these shameful deeds. In order to not lose face in front of the whole world. In order to not risk unleashing riots in the United States. In order to preserve the union and to avoid a new civil war. In order to not ask themselves questions. They don't want to know. They don't want to find out. They won't allow themselves to find out."
