Location of Sighting: M4 corridor between JCT 17 and JCT 18
Date of Sighting: 26th Jan 2010
Time: 1201

Witness Statement: I was traveling in my lorry along the M4 west bound heading for JCT 18. Ahead of me in the road I could see a flashing police car on the hard shoulder. As I approached I could tell it was a unmarked black BMW police car and it looked like it had pulled over a whiter motor vehicle on the hard shoulder. As I passed these two I looked into the sky to my right and I noticed two orange/amber lights. They just grabbed my attention as they were moving unlike an aeroplane. I watched as they got closer to the M4 and lower in the air. At this point I knew whatever it was, was not a plane as by now it had starting rotating 360 degrees in the sky.

I pulled over on to the hard shoulder and frantically began to watch. I could clearly see these two lights moving in unison rotating slowly whilst hovering in the sky. The object had become stationary for a few seconds and started slowly rotating around! I was close enough to see the two lights were the "tips" of this craft as I could see a flat circular base between them. It was a little bit scary to be honest as I knew what I was witnessing was no Chinese lantern and it certainly didn't look like a plane! What confirmed my instincts was as I tried frantically to get my camera phone switched over to video mode, by the time I had looked back up the object had vanished without a trace! I waited for several minutes for it to reappear, but it never did. How could something so clear to me just vanish like that? A plane cannot move out of your view so quickly?! It was literally a second whilst I looked down to my phone to switch shoot modes and it just vanished into thin air. I have got to say it certainly spooked me up as I know what I saw....

I mentioned at the start of my account about the police car and other motor vehicle. Surely the too saw what I saw they were only 600 yds further down on the hard shoulder from where I pulled over?
