On January 13, 2010, at approximately 7:25 PM, my 10 year old son and I were traveling SE on Kilby Rd. in Harrison/ Cleves, Ohio, when we witnessed what appeared to be a flaming plane slowly descending on a 70-80 degree incline.

We first noticed the object from a distance of 1-2 miles, and it appeared that the trajectory of the object would result in an impact close to or in Kilby.

As we approached the object we noticed that it was no longer descending, but instead appeared to be hovering over a tilled field. The object appeared to consist of a square base that rose into a pyramidal shaped structure. It was difficult to approximate the size, but it was larger than a moderately sized house.

Several passing cars braked and slowed to view the object, which appeared to be hovering 600-700 ft. off the deck. Upon closer observation, the object was not engulfed in flame, but projected white, gold, and red flashing "shimmering" lights in what appeared to be a random pattern.

The lights were insufficient to cast a shadow on the deck and radiated in a more random, strobe-like pattern than a timed/sequential, or cautionary flashes. I thought that the object may be a helicopter, but it did not produce any sound at all.

I parked and exited my car approximately 1/4 mile from where the object hovered. I tried to establish a static line of sight with the tree line to determine whether the object was in fact hovering... (as it appeared).

As I observed the object, it did not appear to be traveling away from or deviate from its hovering position... it hovered for less than 2-3 minutes before it slowly ascended and traveled in a NE arc, which ended in a SE flight path.

We reentered the car and continued to drive SE, then the object reappeared briefly over the ridge line several miles SE of its original position.

My son thought that the object instantly vanished, but I could not verify the observation as I was driving. We lost visual contact with the object when it disappeared over a ridge line.

A few minutes later we met a friend and explained what we had observed. She stated that one of her family friends claims to have witnessed a similar sighting 5-10 years ago in the approximate same location. Our friend agreed to have him contact me to discuss the incident and have a laugh...

I did not take any cell phone photos or videos, as it was too cold and my cell camera produces very low quality photos. I considered contacting the local law enforcement agencies, but considering I am an attorney and have political/judicial aspirations, I did not think it wise.

As an aside, my son and I maintain an interest in UFOs, watch all UFO programs and documentaries, which may prejudice the value of this observation.

However, my son and I observed something odd, that did not appear to be an aircraft, did not emit sound and was not shaped like any aerodynamic aircraft we are familiar with.

Interesting, exciting and disturbing. I would like to learn whether any of the other witnesses traveling Northbound on Kilby Rd. reported similar sightings? I know that several cars slowed to observe the craft.
