Time of Sighting: 11 PM Local Time
Location of Sighting: Rio Grande, Puerto Rico
Description: I was feeding my dog in my backyard when I took a little glimpse of the sky above me and I saw this little flash of white light just straight up in the middle of the sky near the belt of the Orion constellation. At first I thought that it was an aircraft, but after watching it for a couple of seconds I realized it wasn't an airplane. There where no other lights, just this little white flash almost like an airplane strobe light. It wasn't moving at all so I discarded the aircraft possibility. Then I thought of a satellite, but I have seen satellites before and they move a lot faster than this object so I eliminated that possibility also. It appeared to be in the vicinity of the 50,000 plus feet range. It just stood there for like 5 minutes and then it just disappeared. This is the third time that I seen this phenomena where I live. It was definitely a UFO. If you have any information on this type of sighting, let me know. Thank you.
Note: The light has some characteristics of an Iridium Flare satellite, but the stationary position would rule this explanation out.

Hi,
Just a few weeks ago Dec 21 2010 approx. 2030hrs, myself and 4 others saw this exact same flashing light near Orion’s belt. We are located in Escondido, California. It was not a constant light and more like a strobe that would flash every 7 or so seconds, in other words it was not visible unless it flashed. It was stationary and right around the area of M78 between Betelgeuse and Orion’s belt.
I frequent the space weather webpage and watch satellites all the time and this was no sat or aircraft. We are not the only ones to have seen this. Run a search in Google if you have not already. Peace.
