Description: I was at a dinner party in a flat in Sea Point in Cape Town. I went out on the balcony to take a telephone call and saw an extremely bright red/orange object high up in the sky which appeared to be coming towards us. It then moved side to side appearing to be hovering before upwards until it disappeared. Four of the other guests came out and saw it as well.

What make this even more peculiar was that I and my partner saw the same thing 2 weeks earlier at about 8pm and we observed it through binoculars. Once again red/orange very bright moving horizontally and then moving up and diminishing in intensity. My partner was at the dinner party so the 3 other guests (whom we told of our previous experience) were bewildered having been sceptical.

We all were of the opinion it was not an aeroplane, helicopter, balloon or flare. I an my partner took photos on our iphones at the dinner party.

The recent sighting in Hermanus, near Cape Town sound very similar.
