The UFO Traffic Report for Monday, June 15, 2009, includes 14 selected sightings over eight states, according to witness statements filed in the past 72 hours with the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Today's stories include: five UFO sightings over Arizona on June 11 or 12; a low-flying disc spotted in Reading, Pennsylvania; a jet shadowing a UFO over Lake Erie; rapidly moving Bright Lights over Illinois; two Bright Lights cases in California; an Orange Ball moving over Florida; lights over Brown Mountain in North Carolina; a Chevron shape over Michigan; and a white triangle shape seen inside a cloud over Oregon.

The following reports and their headlines are unedited. You can read my selected cases by type of UFO report at the UFO Traffic Report index page.

First up today are five cases from Arizona. I am not sure if the first two cases were reported from the same family, but the events take place on consecutive days and both involve a family making a report. In the first case, a family in Anthem, Arizona, noticed an object hovering in the distance. Though it was partly cloudy, "the light of this object was piercing through the clouds." Back home and armed with cameras and binoculars, the family noticed the object had a diamond shape to it.

Arizona, June 11, 2009 - Translucent, glow, almost transparent or crystal glass like.

My family went for drinks at Sonic's Drive thru in Anthem, the exit faces west. I noticed around 735pm an object at what seemed at a stand still high in the far western sky (probably a bit further or around Lake Pleasant area) I pointed it out to my wife and kids as I ordered our drinks. I felt that it wasn't an airplane or air balloon so I immediately parked facing west. We gazed at this object for about five to ten minutes, it was partly cloudy and as the clouds moved north, the light of this object was piercing through the clouds. We headed home (only minutes away) I immediately asked my children to get the binoculars as I got the videocam and tripod.

My little one even got his digital cam and filmed it. I filmed about 2 to 5 minutes of it, which outlines the diamond shape with a hyper white glow translucent hovering west of Anthem. the binoculars gave the cleanest appearance. At one point I attempted to place the binoculars in front of my camera lense to get a closer zoom but it didn't work. My film was set on a tripod, as the object hovers south out of angle and I zoom out carefull to put it in focus. My wife and kids all identified that this was certainly something out of the ordinary and Fascinating.

An Arizona family watched a blue light in the sky that was shaped like a diamond. Watching through binoculars, one of the witnesses said It was diamond-shaped with white lights on the sides. The object changed colors from blue to orange to red. It hovered for 30 minutes and then slowly drifted away into the clouds.

Arizona, June 12, 2009 - Object hovered in sky, changed colors, had white lights, changed colors, had binoculars with me, after 45 minutes floated slowly away, people in town also seen it, had a definite diamond shape.

At 630pm I stepped out on my porch to smoke a cigarette, when I looked up in the sky, I noticed a large blue light,I thought it was a star at first, until I noticed that it was shaped like a diamond. I went inside and grabbed my binoculars and my wife and kids. Outside again I focused in on the object, which had a diamond shape and what appeared to be white lights on the sides, it would change colors, blue, orange, red and something on the bottom kept appearing, a small ball or something, it remained motionless for about 30 minutes, then slowly traveled away from our sight into the clouds. During the sighting, I pointed it out to my neighbors who also saw it. Nobody seen anything like it.

An Arizona witness saw a bright balloon-shaped object in the sky over Dreamy Draw Dam and took some photos. The photographer then drove to Piestewa Peak Park, but heading home, saw the object again and stopped to take more photos. Then at home where a second witnessed studied it, they both watched the object again. The total viewing time for this object was 90 minutes. The witnesses stepped inside for a phone call, and when they returned outside, it was gone.

Note: A second Arizona witness saw a weather balloon in the sky, and reported it, thinking that others would report it as a UFO. Not sure if the two cases are related, but the dates match, so this is likely a manmade weather balloon here.

Arizona, June 11, 2009 - Saw in the NW sky while it was still light, bright, translucent. Saw as darkness set in, still glowing, then it was no longer visible when it became totally dark.

I first saw it around 6:45pm at Dreamy Draw Dam where I was photographing. I got my binoculars out and saw that it was very bright, possibly balloon-shaped, but it didn't look like a hot-air balloon and much too large to be a regular balloon. It did not appear to be moving at all.

I then drove to Piestewa Peak Park to take more photos for a half hour or so. Upon leaving the park and heading home, I saw it in the almost-dark sky to the NW. It was still bright. I pulled into a parking lot and took a few photos but my telephoto lens is only 135mm. It still had not moved.

I got home, told my significant other about it. He came outside and also looked through the binoculars. By this time I had seen it for about an hour and a half. It was now almost dark, the object was still very bright, no stars or other nighttime objects yet visible. We went inside to make a phone call to a friend. When we came back out, it was no longer visible and it was totally dark.

We do not have an unobstructed view so if it went behind some trees or houses, we would not see it anymore.

A group of people in Phoenix, Arizona, watched a bright white light in the shape of a cross. They said the object made no noise and they were able to watch it 25 to 30 minutes before it disappeared.

Arizona, June 11, 2009 - Bright white cross shape in western sky over Phoenix, Arizona.

On Thursday, June 11, 2009 approx. 8:00 PM my husband, myself and our neighbors saw a bright white light in the shape of a cross in the western sky over Phoenix. The top and bottom of this cross changed colors to red, blue and green. We thought it might be Venus as it was that bright.

This was not a plane or helicopter as it did not move. There was no noise that we could hear.

We watched if for approx. 25-30 minutes and it never moved. I called the radio station KFYI to report it to them and when I came in for my camera and returned the object was gone.

We live in the San Tan Mountains and we have a very clear view of most of the valley. We are always watching the skies here.

A Reading, Pennsylvania, witness first saw a slow moving bright light at the tree top level and thought a plane was in trouble. But stepping outside now, he noticed that the craft was "saucer shaped with a dome in the upper mid center." The object moved over a neighbor's house and "its light went out and disappeared."

Pennsylvania, February 1, 2009 - Disc shaped saucer w/dome illuminated by white/yellow light, sometimes intense and pulsating. Also viewed round 'bubbled' windows on the saucer's angled surface of the saucer area.

I posted this account on our RIPS (Reading Investigators of Paranormal Studies) MySpace and asked if anyone had had a similar experience. To date...no response. However, at our last meeting a fellow member brought to our attention that an article was published in March in our local paper concerning several sightings in and around the Berks area in the early months of 2009. After reading this account, we decided to report this event. This is what I wrote on the RIPS MySpace blog in February 2009...

Ok guys...this is just amazing. But I DO trust my husband and he has NEVER in my 34+ years of being with him has he ever been untruthful...teasing, sometimes boastful...but never a liar!!!

This morning at 5:45 he let the dogs out for their morning 'piss call'. He went back inside to prepare Diego's insulin shot. While watching the dogs through the kitchen window 'do their thing' he noticed a single bright light, moving slowly about tree-top height just below and beyond our lower yard. Being so near the airport, he thought at first it was a plane in trouble. He went outside to get the dogs and view the light further. It was then that he saw a form....yes...saucer shaped with a dome in the upper mid center. He didn't have his glasses on or any appropriate clothing to fully investigate it but he did see enough of it to describe its shape and its path of travel. The light was NOT a beam shining downward NOR did it shine outward but the light did illuminate the saucer's shape from the edges. The form was level and hovering momentarily and silently at tree-top height. It then moved toward and over the neighbor's house when its light went out and disappeared. Curiously, Diego is forever barking at planes and birds that fly over and near the house, but not this time. In fact, both dogs never even reacted to it. Later in the day he walked down to the area but nothing seemed to be 'out of place' or disturbed. He is still shaking his head in disbelief and I only wish I had been awake and downstairs to witness it too!!!

I just wonder if others had seen or spotted something unusual in the skies of late.

A Pennsylvania witness fishing on Lake Erie watched a jet and a Bright Light moving overhead. The object changed course and moved at speeds the witness said were impossible for man made aircraft.

Pennsylvania, June 14, 2009 - Star like object shadowing a jet over Lake Erie in the middle of the day!

I was fishing on Lake Erie, crystal clear calm day over the lake, some light cumulus clouds over both US and Canadian shores, no clouds over the lake. While watching a jet with a noticeable contrail fly across the sky I noticed a bright starlike object about 1/4 of the way from the jet to the horizon moving parallel and in sync with the jet without a contrail and no plane like shape. At first I thought it was another plane reflecting sunlight and then realized that it didn't have any plane shape. This continued for about 30 seconds when the object stopped for a about 10 seconds while the jet continued on. The object then changed course at an angle (no arc) and flew about 3/4 of the way to the northern horizon of the lake where it stopped again. Suddenly the object moved very quickly (at speeds incapable of a plane) back towards the west where it slowed again, stopped and then headed due north out of sight. There was no sound or contrails at all and I could hear the jets passing at cruising altitude. I took my sunglasses off and checked to make sure there were no reflections. My friend saw it for only a few seconds before he lost it as he didn't have his prescription glasses on. I had no difficulty seeing it, it appeared a a star just after daybreak. But this was mid day and nearly straight over head. I've never seen anything like this before and I'm confident that it was no normal aircraft. I was really disappointed I had forgot my binoculars in my truck.

Two Illinois witnesses saw two points of light moving in a formation across the sky at a high altitude. This was followed by a second "solid red craft" that moved across the sky at a high rate of speed. Both objects eventually moved away until they could no longer be seen.

Illinois, June 11, 2009 - Crafts flying in formation or just 1 big one, followed by craft at rapid speed.

Object flying in what looked to be formation( 2 points of light )from SSEast to SWest across the sky. Object was at a very high altitude and strobing, too high to get a picture on film, which I tried. It flew in perfect parallel formation. They always stayed the same distance apart from each other. We were unable to see outline due to altitude in sky. The lights looked stacked like one on top of the other.

Then following this object, was a solid RED craft at a VERY rapid rate of speed, until we could not see either objects any longer.

Is there anyway to check radar over the area at this time with a 5 minute buffer to see what was flying overhead in formation?

We are located next to a DOE facility. This was seen by two people.

Witnesses in Blythe, California, would like help on an object they watched looking toward Parker. The distant object slowly moved in circles, and changed color from a white light to red. Then after six minutes, "it slowly dimmed and looked like a distant star" when "the stars weren't out yet." A friend, watching through binoculars seemed to think it might be a balloon, but this witness seems to think it was something else and wonders if anyone else saw it or possibly captured it with a camera.

California, June 11, 2009 - My mom and I viewed a brightly lit up white then red sphere in the northeastern direction for approx 7 minutes.

At approximately 7:58 PM, on June 11, 2009, in Blythe California, my friend called me and told me to go look outside at the UFO towards Parker.

My mom and I went outside and immediately saw the sphere shaped lit up craft stationary over what seemed to be the Colorado river, Northeast of our property.
It was a good distance away, its hard to give distance in the air or how far away the object was.. It was slowly going in tiny circles it seems, then staying still... changing after about 4 minutes from white light to red... then at the sixth minute I observed it, it slowly dimmed and looked like a distant star, the stars weren't out yet.
It was a wonderful experience, I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but I was really dizzy after watching it, maybe because I was looking up so long..my mom said the same thing.. We feel fine now and felt fine about 30 minutes after that.

I tried to get my friend to take a pic, but he couldn't he said, however, his cousin said he looked through binoculars and saw what he described as a big balloon...he said it looked round... there is no way a balloon could have been there.... that big..... that high.. that long.... changing colors.... absolutely not.... and if so where did it go?

I'm hoping others have reported this to you and got a good picture or video of it. I tried to call another friend to video it, but they weren't home.. anyhow it was a cool sight,

I hope they come back tonight... take care , will be happy to talk to you if you like ..
hope all of you are doing well...

Thank you,

A California witness saw a reflection of an object in a swimming pool and looked up to see a silver object with one or two bright lights and "flying erratically." The silent object reversed direction toward the witness. The witness estimates it may have been 50 feet across, but cannot be sure. Then the object moved "straight up at a tremendous rate of speed until it disappeared into the clouds."

California, June 7, 2009 - Over house at 2500 ft, went up.

I was standing in the back yard. Looked up to a see flying object at aprx 2500 ft moving north east. Object was silver, had very bright light on (one or two). Was flying erratically. Suddenly reversed direction, came back towards my location. I had a very clear view of the object, although it was flying silently. I could not get an accurate estimate of its size since I didn't know its exact altitude. It may have been fifty feet long. About that time it started climbing straight up at a tremendous rate of speed until it disappeared into the clouds. (It was not an airplane, nor a blimp, nor a helicopter.)

1. I was in the back yard trying to fish a frog out of the swimming pool.

2. I saw a reflection of the flying object in the water.

3. Initially I thought it was a balloon, then I realized it didn't fit the description. No shroud lines. Somewhat erratic behavior. When it elevated in altitude, it went straight as an arrow.

4. It moved erratically, possibly as a result of wind currents. It went up at unbelievable rate.

5. I strongly suspected I had seen a "flying saucer." I have been around aircraft all my life.

6. Disappeared into the clouds.

A Florida witness watched an orange ball moving rapidly across the sky through binoculars.

Florida, June 13, 2009 - orange orb moving from W to E rapidly

Was out having a smoke, the sky is thin overcast with lots of heat lightning.
Was watching the lightning show, and watching airplanes below.

Looked above and seen a few bright stars peeking through, then noticed one of the stars moving quickly. got my binoculars to see closer. Was simply a orange ball, no blinking lights, moving rapidly.

Object appeared above the cloudcover shining through.

Object proceeded rapidly east. Was at the horizon and unable to see further within a matter of 1-1.5 minutes from noticing it directly above.

If it was below the clouds, I would have expected to see blinking lights of a aircraft, and also unsure what aircraft has orange lights. I will be looking up more often at early evening time.

I make no assumptions on what it is...I know what it isn't and that's about it.

If I see more of these objects, I will invest in getting a high quality camera and set up as much evidence gathering equipment (I am a skeptic, so I know what I would be satisfied with as far as being something more than simply a airplane or satellite.)

A North Carolina witnesses watched lights over Brown Mountain.

North Carolina, June 12, 2009 - Observed a bright white-orange light seemingly over Morganton while on Brown Mountain Overlook

On June 13, 2009 myself and 3 friends decided to take a trip from Boone,NC to Brown Mountain to see the famous Brown Mountain Lights. We arrived at Brown Mountain Overlook at approx. 10:30pm. This was the first time any of us had ever been to this site and were immediately taken back by the frequency of the lights and the brightness. After taking a short walk away from the rest of my friends to relieve myself, I turned back to face the group to begin walking back and noticed a very bright light that appeared to be over Morganton. The city is approx. 15 miles away from the Overlook and only the brightest lights and a few radio tower lights are visible. It was a very clear night with 1 Thunderstorm way off in the distance just to the right of Brown Mountain as you look from the overlook. At once I started asking my friends what they thought this light was. It was absolutely NOT a plane as there was heavy airplane traffic that night, and we had already observed numerous airplanes traveling over and across the sky in front and behind us. This light was brighter than anything else in the sky and was a white-orange in color. I did not appear to move horizontal or vertical and was well above the height of any of the towers in the city visible in the distance. Just all 4 of us were starting to watch it and guess what it was, the light suddenly just went off. The light did not shoot away, it simply just went off like a light bulb would. Our first reaction was shock, I personally had a cold chill run down my back and had goose bumps on my entire body. We all stood there in disbelief but quickly turned out attention back to the Brown Mountain lights which were very active. Approx. 25mins later the light reappeared over Morganton, this time not quite as bright and a little bit farther to our left and it stayed for approx. 2 mins before just disappearing as it did the first time. Approx. 30-40mins after this, the light re-appeared in about the same position as it had appeared the 2nd time only this time it moved as we watched it towards our left and seemed to just move away until I could no longer see it. By this time we were all basically in shock at what we were seeing and just stood there unable to really say anything, mouths wide open. We were just about to leave as it was getting towards midnight and we had a bit of a drive back to Boone when the object appeared again this time to the far right of the visible part of the city from where we were on the overlook. This time we all pretty much thought it might be a plane by the way it looked until it just simply went from being the brightest thing in the sky to gone in the blink of an eye. We attempted to get pictures with our cell-phones and with my friends digital camera but with no results.

A Michigan witness watched a silent and hovering craft moving toward the Hubbell/Tamarack area. The craft had solid red lights at the point of the Chevron with white lights toward the back and down the middle.

Michigan, June 13, 2009 - A Chevron shape appeared the size of a plane.

A Chevron shaped crafted appeared the size of a plane in the Bootjack area. Was completely silence and stationary. Slowly began to move toward Hubbell/Tamarack area. The chevron shape had solid red lights at the point of the chevron, with white lights (solid) behind the red lights towards the back down the middle. Began to move quickly towards town. I thought it was a small plane or helicopter but it made absolutely no noise and was stationary. Lost site of it when it began to head toward town.

And finally today, an Oregon man and his son spotted a white triangle UFO inside a cloud.

Oregon, June 12, 2009 - White triangle with outside glow around it

I was driving home looking east into the sky because there were many thunder heads for we were in the middle of a thunderstorm. I was attracted to a very dark cloud to the east. I noticed a white triangular object on the right hand corner of the cloud. I was thinking it must be a cloud within a cloud for it had a glow around it within the black cloud and was slowly dissipating. I thought at the time that is very strange little cloud within that cloud. I was speaking to my son and he said that there are white triangular ufo's. He showed me one on the internet. I said, "that's exactly what it looked like". Just like the pic he showed me. I was astounded that I actually saw a white one. I have seen black triangular ones with three lights underneath but this one had the point of the triangle upward instead of seeing it flying flat over my head. It appeared to be going straight upward. Looking like such ^. It eventually just disappeared. I kept thinking how strange it was but thought it was my imagination and wasn't going to say anything. My son suggested I report it to Mufon.
