I was driving along the Great Ocean Road with my friend for a late Thursday night outing when we spotted an object hovering in the distance. We discounted the possibility that it could be a Plane or a Helicopter as its size was fairly large and it had bright lights and was moving slowly in a northerly direction. The craft was at least 800m away and at least 500m up in the air. It looked fairly similar to another sighting in NSW a few weeks ago. See the article here

The object was a large metallic ball shape (about the size of a house) and had bright lights from underneath it. There was a pulsating bright high beam light come from the right of the object going toward the direction of where it was going. It lasted for about 2 minutes then shortly disappeared behind a hill. After seeing that, we were a little freaked out but had no idea of what it could be and where it had gone. We travelled to where we had saw it but it had disappeared.

I have seen several other lights in the past but nothing as vivid or as close as this.

Location: Point Addis, Torquay, Victoria, Australia

I was with a friend star gazing on this clear and crisp winter night, when we had noticed an object towards Portarlington lighthouse hovering and doing very odd manoeuvres. The object seemed to be triangular in shape, it had one very bright orange light and two bluish-white lights from underneath it. The object was clearly visible for at least 45 minutes from the location I was at. It was definitely not a weather balloon, due to its shape, more like the letter A or V and it had been moving against the wind. It was reacting to the light coming from the light house.

The object moved quite quickly in a westerly direction then to the north. It seemed to cover all directions and would fade out. It would then re-appear in a completely different location. This was sighted the same week of which the object had been reported on local radio station 3AW AM693 as another witness spotted the object in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The object was visible in the early morning between 6am and 8am then had disappeared shortly after.
