US: Eastpointe, Michigan - Large Red Light with Smaller White Light Above and Below

Location of Sighting: Eastpointe, Michigan (About 10 MI NE of Detroit)

Description: My family had a bonfire the night of May 24, 2009 when we looked up at an object in the sky moving northeast to southwest. The object had a large red light in the middle with a smaller white light above it and below it. The object was moving slower than an airplane so we assumed it was a helicopter, but as it got closer we noticed there was no sound from the object and the lights were solid - not flashing. By the time we got our camera the object had disappeared in the clouds.

Note: The drawing and report do not suggest that the witnesses saw an airplane, helicopter, or any other known process (meteor, space junk, etc).
