Date of Sighting: 19th May 2009
Time: 22.15

Witness Statement: A great bright Orange glow, circular elispe sharped object in appearance passed over in the distance which could have been passing over from the direction of Keyworth across the sky maybe 1000-2000ft up in the sky. It's not untypical that we see aircraft coming into land for East Midlands, however this was odd as it was and anti clockwise route, we then believed that it may have been a plane on fire in the sky but it then moved across as if it was heading towards Nottingham, and then return back to in between where it was and where it has just been and stopped directly in the sky with the same consistency with its glow still at the same height.

It paused in the sky for at least a minute stationary, still the same bright orange glow. As we looked it appeared to be slowly climbing and getting further away into the distance and then seemed to disappear what would appear to be at high velocity into the distance on a flight path which would have taken it towards Lincoln direction in a straight line. I have no idea what it was, initially it looked like a plane on fire, but was too bright, possible it could have been a fire balloon, but the size and the way it moved and stopped in the sky made us think this could not be the case. Really I just wanted to know what it was if it was a UFO or something which could be explained.
