Date of Sighting: May 16, 2009
Time of Sighting: Approximately 3:30 PM MDT

Description: I saw a long, white, rectangular shaped object to the north. It was flipping in the sky and flashing what appeared to be a reflection from the sun. It was moving towards the southeast. Because of the way that it was moving, I thought that it was a large piece of metallic debris caught in the wind. I very often see airplanes going to and from Calgary airport in that direction, and it seemed to be of similar size in the sky. I realized that if it was a piece of debris, that it had to be huge, and very high up because as it got close to the eave of my house, it disappeared behind a cirrus cloud. I watched the spot where it had disappeared, and after a few seconds it reemerged, but now it was black, sitting still ( not moving, and no longer flipping ). It also had a bluish aura around it, and was still rectangular in shape. Again after a few seconds it began to slowly move, approaching the eave of my house, so I ran around to the front of the house, but could no longer see it.

Note: Boy this is a strange one. The first part of the observation would suggest that it some debris caught in the wind, but the disappearance behind a cirrus cloud means that it was probably at or above 20,000 feet. Also the reemergence as a black object would exclude the "floating debris" theory.
