Date of Sighting: 26th April 2009
Time: 11:45am

Witness Statement: Cigar-shaped thing seen above woods from Fairburn Ings possibly over Ledsham, high up (above the buzzards that I and around 10 other birdwatchers were looking at.) It was a fairly windy day but the object was motionless. Within 10 minutes of spotting this it became covered in thick cloud and the sky remained covered for the rest of the afternoon. I think the object was large, at least the size of a light aircraft but hard to say as unsure of distance and unfortunately there is nothing else in the photograph to scale it to.

If anyone else saw this please leave a reply - I should have reported this sooner but wanted to speak to another of the witnesses first to get their account. Unfortunately, I haven't seen him since so thought I would post in the hope that someone else in the area may be able to shed some light on this.
