Five companions were rescued. |
A man's body has been recovered after being buried under metres of snow in the Kosciuszko National Park in southern New South Wales.
The climber was trapped when a cornice broke off an iced-over waterfall at Blue Lake near Charlotte Pass this afternoon.
The accident happened around 1.30pm.
Five companions were rescued and it is believed their injuries are only minor.
Two people have also died in separate skiing accidents at Perisher Blue Ski resort.
It appears that enough snow has fallen in Australia this season that people are beginning to hurt themselves. Rather peculiar, no?
