Blanchard teen BreAnna Helsel escaped serious injury when she was struck by lightning.

It happened June sixth as she was closing a kitchen window at home during a storm.

Helsel started complaining about a tingling in her arm, so her mother took the 16-year-old Montabella High School student to a hospital.

She has some darkened fingertips and a shaky arm with some muscle damage that will require some therapy, but she's expected to make a full recovery.

When some hospital workers suggested that the 16-year-old might be on a lucky streak, Linda Johnson went out the next day and bought her daughter a Michigan lottery ticket.

It turned out to be a $20 winner.
