The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to
assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other
possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are
viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

Most infections are mild, and symptoms, which don't always appear, include fever, headache, and body aches, occasionally with skin rashes. A more severe infection may be marked by headache, high fever, neck stiffness and disorientation.

Military looks to drugs for battle readiness - "Speed" is the well-known nickname for amphetamines, the controversial and potentially harmful drug some American pilots are taking in order to enhance their performance. Despite the possibility of addiction and potential side effects that include hypertension and depression, such drugs are needed, military officials believe, in order to stay alert and focused – especially on long-range bombing missions.
A crow called Betty astonished scientists at Oxford by deliberately bending a straight wire into a hook and using it to extract food from a container, the journal Science said on Friday. - The feat, it is said, makes her the first animal other than a human that has shown a clear understanding of cause and effect, and fashioned a tool for a specific task using new materials not encountered in the wild. Not even chimpanzees, our closest cousins, have this ability.
New! August 9, 2002 - Internet Porn Ring U.S. and European law-enforcement officials have arrested 20 people - Authorities say the parents traded photos of themselves sexually abusing their own children and shared tips in online chat rooms. Saudi bans use of its air bases to attack Iraq - Relations between the Saudis and Americans are at a low ebb. The public opposition by the Saudis, traditionally seen as the West's staunchest Arab ally in the region, is the latest rebuff for George Bush and Tony Blair who have found themselves increasingly isolated by European and Middle Eastern states, as well as Russia and China. - The German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder also issued his strongest warning so far against an invasion of Iraq, saying it could "destroy the international alliance against terrorism". -Political and religious tension in the kingdom is now high amid a growing anti-Western feeling, fuelled by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. There are also protests at the continuing presence of large groups of American forces in the land of Islam's holiest shrines.
Zimbabwe farmers defy deadline - Local police say they have no plans to use force to remove the 2900 of the country's 4500 farmers ordered to abandon their farms by midnight Thursday under the country's land-reform program. - President Robert Mugabe's seizure order targets an estimated ninety-five percent of white-owned farms. It also affects about 350,000 farm workers -- most of them black laborers -- and altogether two million family members. - Mugabe -- Zimbabwe's sole ruler since the former Rhodesia gained independence in 1980 -- says his land seizures are meant to right the wrongs of British colonialism, which left 70 percent of the best farmland in white hands. - The World Food Programme says half of Zimbabwe's 12.5 million people face severe hunger.

The northern state of Rajasthan has been gripped by what locals say is the worst drought in living memory.
A crippling drought in Italy this summer has experts worried that the destruction of land in Southern Europe through "desertification" may be less gradual than previously thought. Experts are now worried that unless radical measures are taken, industrial farming and water waste could make parts of Europe look like the devastated area around Central Asia's Aral Sea. - Experts say reservoirs in Sicily could run dry by October if rain does not pick up. A similar crisis is gripping four other regions.

FEMA’s Plan for Mass Destruction Attacks - On June 19, FEMA posted a special bid notice for one of the agency’s largest contract awards ever – offering contracting firms $300 million for a five-year contract to simply prepare plans to create temporary housing on a scale never before imagined, and then stand by. - the bid notice’s "Statement of Work" sets out a broad mandate for the firms being contracted, stating that "The Contractor shall be required to provide support capability for all types of disasters with emphasis on riverine and coastal flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes, and tsunamis." - FEMA officials made very clear that the purpose of one of the most massive undertakings in the agency’s history was to prepare for potential mass destruction attacks on U.S. cities. - Mr. Kolton agreed that the program includes preparation for terrorist mass destruction attacks, though the FEMA bid notice specifically avoids using such language. He stressed that the Standby Program is being implemented to prepare for "all types of disasters” including terrorist ones. Asked why the bid notice conveniently forgot to mention the potential for terrorism, though it must be among the highest priorities for FEMA, he again stressed that the language does include that possibility – though the program’s main focus, he said, is on natural disasters. What natural disaster had caused such a need for the largest program of its kind ever in the history of FEMA? [Our guess is that they aren't preparing for terrorist attacks, but are using terrorist attacks to prepare for Cosmic Attacks - either natural or otherwise. In other words, they know something they aren't telling us.] See discussion beginning with: Adventures Chapter 26 and also The Future of the Beast Empire]
Canadian man dies from mutated Mad Cow Disease - He is the first person whose "death is related to the consumption mad cow beef," said Andrew Swift, spokesman for Health Canada in Ottawa, as opposed to other Canadians that have died from the rare, yet naturally occuring Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease which is responsible for about 25 to 30 deaths in Canada each year.
Israeli police have arrested nine foreign activists, including three Americans.
Scenarios narrow for attacking Iraq - They're now likely focusing on something that might be defined as either Gulf War Lite or Afghan War Plus – a mix of conventional force and lightning Special Forces strikes designed to oust Saddam Hussein's regime. - "Saddam has been in power during the entire life of 80 percent of the Iraqi people. To say ... that there are factions that will not follow him is reckless and dangerous," said Cordesman.
Saddam's threats dismissed in Washington - The Iraqi leader taunted the United States, boasting that those who attack Iraq, "will be digging their own graves." - "The forces of evil will carry their coffins on their backs to die in disgraceful failure, taking their schemes with them, or to dig their own graves after they bring death to themselves on the Arab or Muslim soil against which they perpetrate aggression, including Iraq, the land of Jihad and the banner," Saddam said.
New! August 6, 2002 - One Asteroid Can Ruin Your Day - The more likely threat from collisions with asteroids and comets comes not from chunks of space rock the size of Texas, as in the movie Armageddon, but rather from objects mere tenths of a mile across, which are harder to find and track.
Our world is being bombarded -- by reports of asteroids coming oh-so-close to crashing into Earth. - "Big asteroids have hit Earth before and it's only a matter of time before one threatens us again. Will it be years, decades, millions of years? No one knows," read a recent NASA press release.
France to ban far-right party - A 1936 law prohibits the existence of groups that provoke racial discrimination or ethnic hatred.

Scientists debate fish-kill cause - Scientists studying a microscopic organism blamed for killing hundreds of millions of fish in the 1990s in Maryland and North Carolina are now divided over what makes the tiny creature so deadly. [...] "The organism has this intensive swarming response where it is attracted to the fish, actively swims towards the fish. It attaches to the skin ... and then it actively feeds on the skin," said Dr. Wolfgang Vogelbeim
DefCon: Expert suggests hacking back - Striking back against a computer that is attacking you may be illegal under United States law, but a security researcher says people should be allowed to neutralize one that is unwittingly spreading destructive Internet worms like "Nimda." - The defensive strategy of "strike back" is gaining some support among members of the U.S. Congress. They will be voting on a bill backed by movie and music studios that would allow retaliation to help thwart Internet piracy.
Hack attack, how you might be a target - Imagine waking up one morning to discover all your personal information has been stolen. Your bank account has been cleaned out. The project you have been working on for the past six months has vanished. Your e-mails have been infected with a virus that has copied itself to all the people you have ever exchanged e-mails with. You try to make a call but your mobile phone's address book has been deleted remotely. Then things start to get really bad. The computer system protecting your house no longer recognises you because the data containing your retina scan has been stolen. Now you are barred from your home, so you alert the police, but they are very keen to talk to you about your recent credit card purchase in Panama. It sounds like technophobe's worst nightmare, but it could be reality. [This is a reality. See our report on Vincent Bridges.]

August 1, 2002 - Cosmic Rays Linked To Global Warming - A study in the July 2002 issue of Journal of Geophysical Research-Space Physics, published by the American Geophysical Union, proposes for the first time that interstellar cosmic rays could be the missing link between the discordant temperatures observed during the last two decades (since recorded satellite records began in 1979)
Michael Mandeville tells us: As of July 31 2002 All conditions worsen as Sunspot Numbers inextricably shoot up into higher numbers. Daily Count Sizzling At ~300 and Solar Flux is at 230, now dipping slightly down. The mass media this week discusses a theoretical war in Iraq this weak and its pros and cons and possible costs. And they have no idea, no perspective at all on the depth of the environmental holocaust which is descending over us all. [...] POLAR MOTION: The Anomaly Deepens, this cycle of Chandler’s Wobble is definitely wobblier than normal. Is it the Sun?
Earth's waistline could be expanding - The Earth's gravity field has bulged more in the middle in the past four years and scientists suspect that the same is true for the planet itself.
China: Falun Gong a global threat - Beijing has taken its nationwide campaign to discredit the Falun Gong movement to an international stage, calling the spiritual group a threat to civilized society all over the world. [...] The latest step in China's battle against the Falun Gong, which Beijing now brands as a quasi-terrorist sect, follows the alleged hijacking of state-run satellites to broadcast pro-Falun Gong propaganda last month by group members based outside the country. [...] A Falun Gong spokesperson rejected Xie's claims as another unsubstantiated slanderous attack made by Beijing in an attempt to legitimize its crackdown on the group. [...] "What you have seen in the past three years is the most peaceful, non-violent demonstrations [by Falun Gong followers] in the world. Truthfulness, compassion and tolerance -- that's the essence and universal characteristics of Falun Gong." [...] Xiao also said there was no evidence that the satellite broadcast hijacking in June had been perpetrated by Falun Gong members, arguing that the level of sophistication to tap into the signal was too complex. [Can we say COINTELPRO Chinese style?]
Five Americans were killed and four wounded when a bomb in a handbag exploded Wednesday afternoon in a cafeteria at Hebrew University's Mount Scopus campus in Jerusalem.
Readers will have noticed that there have been no entries to this page for the past several days and many of you have written to inquire if something was "wrong." In fact, everything was "right" for the first Perseus Foundation/Quantum Future School Conference! With guests and local members, we had over 50 people in attendance from all over the globe with the first arrivals coming in on the 25th and the last of the attendees leaving this morning on their respective flights home.
Ark and I have to say that, even having attended many other conferences of various types, we have never experienced anything like the energy, synergy, and sheer connectedness of the great minds and souls of the participants in this little meeting we organized to bring together the Teachers emerging from those who have been applying the Cassiopaean Initiatory Teachings over the past several years. We had talks and workshops and round table discussions. We analyzed the state of the world, we clarified the issues of working in the current "fields" of interest, and we solidified many things about where this work will go from here. Look for some tremendous new offerings in the Near Future!
As many readers know, due to the rapid progress in awareness and ability that many of our group members have achieved in the past few years, we have come to the understanding that the programme that we incepted back in 1998 and 1999 has borne amazing fruit in terms of those who are able and ready to accept the position of teachers and facilitators of awareness/ascension. We have realized that our Online School Format is a powerful tool for self-development on a Global Scale and we are taking steps to readjust our course somewhat to accelerate the "awakening" and growth of the Human Representatives of the Higher Levels of Free Will for the facilitating of the Transition to 4th Density in the mode of Service to Others. The Cassiopaean Website will remain the same, but we are making plans to make more direct contact and interaction possible for all of those who may wish to enhance their energies of awareness and self-development, as well as those who wish to become Teachers and Workmen in the Fields of the Coming Harvest.
In short, the experiment has succeeded beyond our expectations! And we are only getting warmed up here! We will be publishing photographs and personal reports of the conference as well as making some videos of the talks available. So check back soon!
New! July 29, 2002 - The acorns of any presidential administration never fall very far from the tree -- thus, the remarks made last week by one of George W. Bush's appointees to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission give us a pretty fair indication of what the future will look like if the Regime's seeds of tyranny ever come to full flower. - citizens should just accept the Regime's police-state measures and stop bellyaching about the "perceived erosion of civil rights," ... oherwise, it'll be camps, curfews and kangaroo courts for the whole damn country.
Since September 11th, tens of thousands of independent investigators, researchers and concerned citizens have grown into a veritable army of truth seekers--a virtual "people's investigative network." They have taken up the challenge of shedding light on the murkier, as yet unexamined aspects of the events of, and surrounding, September 11, 2001. In the face of apparent government deception and cover-up; bolstered by a growing number of damning whistleblower revelations, this informal citizens' investigation is gathering momentum and evidence of possible guilt beyond bureaucratic incompetence or lack of inter-agency communication. UQ notes that no one has yet been held accountable (indeed failure and incompetence has been rewarded) and that the 'War on Terror' has become a 'War on Freedom' as the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights is undermined.
The Hyper-Sonic Sound System (HSS), as he calls it, can take an audio signal from virtually any source—home stereo, TV, computer, microphone, etc.—and convert it to an ultrasonic frequency that can be directed like a beam of light toward a target up to 100 yards away. [Duh!]

Blair warned: Iraq attack 'illegal' - Jordan's King Abdullah II told CNN yesterday that he finds the idea of intervention in Iraq while the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has the Middle East in turmoil "somewhat ludicrous".
Local governments can inspect inside your private home - [...] Wallner said that they have had the right since the 1960s to inspect the inside of the home if they had a petition that was signed by five neighbors.
As the BBC reported that a continent-killing asteroid was racing toward Earth, (although scientists optimistically hope further observations may show 2002 NT7 will miss the planet) an Australian physicist was speculating on an even more hair-raising probability - ghost comets we cannot see coming. - Foot theorises that invisible comets made of a substance called mirror matter are spinning through space and may already have collided cataclysmically with Earth.
Space Weather News - The Boulder sunspot number reached its highest value in more than a year this weekend; the sun is peppered with spots. On Friday, an explosion near one of them--giant sunspot 39--hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. Although the CME was not squarely Earth-directed, some of the cloud is heading our way. It could sweep past Earth as early as Sunday, July 28th, and trigger geomagnetic activity. Sky watchers should be alert for auroras after nightfall. Visit SpaceWeather.com for more information and updates.
New! July 24, 2002 - Space rock 'on collision course' The Reader who sent this one in remarked: "This is a very interesting article -- the "first ever" object to have a positive value for it's rating as potential of impact, *but* "...the error in our knowledge of where NT7 will be on 1 February, 2019, is large, several tens of millions of kilometres..." More slow release of stuff to "acclimatize" folks? Anyway, it's down to 2019 now... How long before it's 2012? ;-)
New! July 20, 2002 - Raising the alarm on super-volcanoes
Drought, abnormally dry weather hits 49 states - Roughly 36 percent of the country is covered by one of four drought categories, which range from "moderate" to "exceptional," said Jay Lawrimore, a climate scientist with the National Climatic Data Center. [...] "No matter how you look at it, water shortages can be expected through October 2002 in most areas that are now experiencing drought," said Doug LeComte, of NOAA's Climate Prediction Center. LeComte said that much of the Rocky Mountains drought area has endured its driest January-to-June in recorded history.
Thousands of Iranians rally against U.S. - Bush has branded Iran part of an "axis of evil," alongside Iraq and North Korea, enraging Iranian conservatives already wary of the U.S. troop presence in Afghanistan to the east and now eyeing nervously a possible U.S. attack on Iraq to the west. - Crowds around Tehran University -- the main venue for Friday prayers in the Iranian capital -- burned an effigy of Bush with a sign around its neck saying: "I made a mistake." "From the start, we said we want America to change its arrogant behavior against Iran and accept that Iran is a free, Muslim, independent country," influential former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani told worshipers who lined the streets around the university campus.
China anger over U.S. sanctions - State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher confirmed on Friday that two-year sanctions will be imposed against 10 individuals or countries for transferring to Iran equipment and technology prohibited under U.S. export control rules.

Anti-missile plane makes first test flight - The maiden flight of an aircraft that officials hope will one day be able to shoot down U.S.-bound missiles took place Thursday over western Kansas, the Air Force said Friday. The Airborne Laser is planned as one part of the overall Missile Defense Agency's program to create a shield of defense systems to protect the country "from incoming tactical or ballistic missiles."
The crash of 2002 - Aeltus Investment Management strategist Jim Griffin ... worries about the off chance that this really is going to be much worse than 1998 experience. "In 1998 it was somebody else's problem, with their blood splashing on our trousers," he said. "This time we're ankle deep in our own blood." [...] We're not there quite yet, thinks Padinha, but we're on our way. He can see the panic growing, see the 1930s references getting progressively more ink. He can imagine the Fed cutting and people arguing that lower rates won't do a thing. That moment -- and who knows how far down from here it is -- will be the sign. "Right there is the bottom," he said. "The bottom for the funds rate, the bottom for the market, the bottom for everything."
New! July 19, 2002 - Experts Confirm Observation of Glaciers' Fast Melt - Alaska's glaciers are melting so badly that they are raising the world's overall sea level more than any other single source, scientists said on Friday. - In 2001 Echelmeyer's team flew over the same glaciers they had measured in the early 1990s, and to their amazement found that the glaciers were thinning at double the rates of 40 years before.
Israel Sets Terms for Possible Exile of Detainees - Israel's attorney general has set terms for the possible deportation of relatives of Palestinian militants, a step aimed at deterring suicide bombers which drew U.S. criticism and Palestinian outrage.
UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan warned Israel on Friday that destroying Palestinian homes and deporting relatives of suicide bombers amounted to collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
SpaceWeather.com - Twisted magnetic fields above sunspot 30 erupted on Thursday, July 18th. The explosion (at 0745 UT) sparked an X2-class solar flare and hurled a faint coronal mass ejection toward Earth. Sky watchers should be alert for possible auroras after nightfall on Friday and Saturday. Sunspot 30 has decayed a little, but it remains impressive, stretching fifteen Earth-diameters from end to end. Meanwhile, another sunspot (active region 36) has grown nearly as large. You can see the pair--but never stare directly at the Sun. Use safe solar projection methods. Both spots pose a threat for powerful X-class eruptions. A coronal mass ejection that left the Sun on Monday, July 15th, swept past our planet Wednesday, July 17th. The impact triggered some geomagnetic activity--but not a full-fledged storm.
Decoding Indus Valley script - In his latest discovery Mysteries of the world history unfolded, Agarwal told Times News Network that deciphering the Indus script would lead to genetic and radical changes in the current world history books.
Britain's 'Dr. Death' Murdered at Least 215 Patients - The inquiry found Shipman killed quietly, coldly and systematically over 23 years, ending the life of patient after patient in a betrayal of trust "unparalleled in history." - The findings confirmed him as one of recent history's most prolific serial killers, on a par with Colombian Pedro Lopez -- dubbed the "Monster of the Andes" -- who was convicted of 57 murders in 1980 but is suspected of killing 300 young girls. - Smith ruled out financial gain or sexual depravity as motives, saying the bearded doctor was highly dominant and addictive but his true psyche remains a mystery. - His motives remain a mystery and he refuses to confess. [We completely understand his "motives." He was a Psychopath. And a very good one.]
Security bill loses ID card, TIPS - House Majority Leader Dick Armey, in his markup of legislation to create a Homeland Security Department, yesterday rejected a national identification card and scrapped a program that would use volunteers in domestic surveillance. [Note: we have regularly encouraged our readers to send letters of protetst to their repreesentatives . Pehaps this is having some effect? Continue to voice your views. Now is not time to think that our reps will represent us if we don't inform them of what we see and thingk!]
US wins deal on immunity A badly fractured UN Security Council adopted a resolution last night that ends the long stand-off between the United States and the rest of the membership over the authority of the newly-formed International Criminal Court to prosecute UN peace-keeping troops. The council accepted a last-minute compromise, that won British backing.
UK accused of preparing a deal with America over criminal court - European nations are deeply concerned that Britain may "sell out" to America in the impasse over the International Criminal Court (ICC). Congress Presses on Iraq Plan - Concerned that the United States is rushing headlong toward a full-scale military confrontation with Iraq, many Congressional Democrats and a growing number of Republicans are urging the Bush administration to provide a public accounting of its plans. - [M]any said they were concerned that the administration was moving toward a major commitment of American troops under a veil of secrecy, with too little consultation with Congress. Members complain that much of what they know comes from news leaks. Some Democrats also assert that the administration must seek Congressional approval before mounting an invasion, under the War Powers Resolution, though that issue is being hotly contested within the party. [Again: we urge all readers to regularly and repeatedly write their representatives and remind them of the Constitution and how Bush and his Gang are seeking to violate it and abrogate our our freedoms!]
Mock battle in SoCal and Nevada to test battle technology - Preparations are underway in Southern California and Nevada for the largest military experiment in U.S. history. - The experiments are the fruits of a drive to transform the military from a heavy, mechanized force designed to fight the Soviet Union into mobile, high-tech troops that can deliver swift hammer blows to a different kind of enemy. [|We merely wish to ask: who is the enemy?]
New! July 16, 2002 - FEMA Preparing for Mass Destruction Attacks on Cities - the federal agency charged with disaster preparedness, is engaged in a crash effort to prepare for multiple mass destruction attacks on U.S. cities - including the creation of sprawling temporary cities to handle millions of displaced persons, NewsMax has learned. - The agency has already notified vendors, contractors and consultants that it needs to be prepared to handle the logistics of aiding millions of displaced Americans who will flee from urban areas that may be attacked. - Ominously, FEMA has been given a deadline of having the cities ready to go by January 2003 – in about six months. Our question is: is this supposed to scare us? Or, do they know something (or are they planning something) that they aren't telling us? If we remember the analysis presented in the Adventures series, which discusses the so-called "Alternative Three," it seems that the "plan" includes massive reduction of the human population. This serves several agendas at once, not the least of which is the "energizing of the STS Matrix" via the release of massive Life Force potentials from the "human batteries." And again, for those who have not yet read it, please take a look at our article: The Future of the Beast Empire, including the special announcement at the end of that discussion. Just as the "other side" is preparing for "something," so must we discover what it is, and prepare ourselves.
New! July 14, 2002 - The Great Charade - As the West prepares for an assault on Iraq, John Pilger argues that 'war on terror' is a smokescreen created by the ultimate terrorist ... America itself
Will the Madness Never Cease? - The Bush Administration aims to recruit millions of United States citizens as domestic informants in a program likely to alarm civil liberties groups. The Terrorism Information and Prevention System, or TIPS, means the US will have a higher percentage of citizen informants than the former East Germany through the infamous Stasi secret police. The program would use a minimum of 4 per cent of Americans to report "suspicious activity".
Update: Is Bush the New Casto? A reader writes in response to the above article:

US smallpox vaccination policy flawed - If a terrorist unleashed smallpox in the US tomorrow, a carefully-planned government response would swing into action. Anyone who had contacted the first cases would be traced and vaccinated before they get sick. But a new modelling study suggests it would cost thousands fewer lives to just vaccinate everyone immediately, even though receiving the vaccine is itself risky. Smallpox was declared eradicated in 1980, but since September 11 fears have risen that terrorists could unleash it in an attack. The US is stockpiling 286 million doses of smallpox vaccine, but there is debate about how to deploy it if an outbreak occurs.
Jesse Jackson raps Bush, Ashcroft - The Rev. Jesse Jackson yesterday called President Bush and Attorney General John Ashcroft "the most threatening combination in our lifetime," at the 93rd annual convention of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. - Mr. Jackson's remarks followed those Sunday night by NAACP Chairman Julian Bond, who accused the president of selling "snake oil" and asserted that Mr. Bush was part of a "right-wing conspiracy."
Gore Vidal: The Last Defender of the American Republic? - Vidal writes: "It is a law of physics (still on the books when last I looked) that in nature there is no action without reaction. The same appears to be true in human nature -- that is, history." The "action" Vidal refers to is the hubris of an American empire abroad (illustrated by a 20-page chart of 200 U.S. overseas military adventures since the end of World War II) and a budding police state at home. The inevitable "reaction," says Vidal, is nothing less than the bloody handiwork of Osama bin Laden and Timothy McVeigh. "Each was enraged," he says, "by our government's reckless assaults upon other societies" and was, therefore, "provoked" into answering with horrendous violence. - I don't think we, the American people, deserved what happened [on 9-11] Nor do we deserve the sort of governments we have had over the last 40 years. Our governments have brought this upon us by their actions all over the world. - Unfortunately, we only get disinformation from The New York Times and other official places. Americans have no idea of the extent of their government's mischief. - Americans are either not told about these things or are told we attacked them because . . . well . . . - And people in the countries who are recipients of our bombs get angry. - the first thing Bush did after we were hit was to get Senator Daschle and beg him not to hold an investigation of the sort any normal country would have done. When Pearl Harbor was struck, within 20 minutes the Senate and the House had a joint committee ready. Roosevelt beat them to it, because he knew why we had been hit, so he set up his own committee. But none of this was to come out, and it hasn't come out.
Does beheading hurt? And, if so, for how long is the severed head aware of its plight?
New! July 6, 2002- Earth 'will expire by 2050' - A study by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to be released on Tuesday, warns that the human race is plundering the planet at a pace that outstrips its capacity to support life. [...] The report, based on scientific data from across the world, reveals that more than a third of the natural world has been destroyed by humans over the past three decades. [...] Martin Jenkins, senior adviser for the World Conservation Monitoring Centre in Cambridge, which helped compile the report, said: 'It seems things are getting worse faster than possibly ever before. Never has one single species had such an overwhelming influence. We are entering uncharted territory.' [...] Attention is now focused on next month's Earth Summit in Johannesburg, the most important environmental negotiations for a decade. However, the talks remain bedevilled with claims that no agreements will be reached and that US President George W. Bush will fail to attend. [...] America, which sent 300 delegates to the conference, is accused of blocking many of the key initiatives on energy use, biodiversity and corporate responsibility. New! July 5, 2002 - Health Officials Issue Plague Warning - LOS ANGELES -- State health officials issued a warning Wednesday to people planning to be outdoors this holiday weekend to guard against bubonic plague, which is carried by rodents in foothills, mountains and along coastal areas. Since 1970, 38 cases of the plague in humans have been reported statewide. The most recent report was in 2000 when a Kern County man survived the sometimes deadly disease by taking antibiotics, said Ken August of the California Department of Health Services. Spectacular New Crop Circle! - Normanton Down long barrows, near Stonehenge, Wiltshire. Reported 4th July.
Regarding the LAX shooting - One reader informs us: I was watching CNN shortly after the LAX event. An eyewitness, standing just a few feet away, related that the gunman was slightly overweight, tanned, blonde with a ponytail, caucasian and was shouting: "They gave my job to Artie...they gave my job to Artie!" It was a live interview and it was immediately cut off after the description. Now read the new "terrorist" spun version. Also see: POLITICAL ASSASSINATIONS AT L.A. AIRPORT
Update on LAX "conspiracy": Another reader has explained: The eyewitness caller who said he saw the shooting from 20 feet away, and heard the shooter say, "Artie took my job" was a prank call. The entirety of the call can be heard here If you listen he says "Artie Lange" at one point during the call. Artie Lange is on the Howard Stern Show, and the person the shooter described at LAX is description of none other than Jackie, the one Artie replaced on the show. If you listen to the clip you'll hear him say, "He seemed to be upset that Artie Lange took his job on the Howard S-" at that point they cut him off as they realized it was a prank. No conspiracy, just a prank caller.

Israel has 400 nukes, building naval force - A United States Air Force report asserts that Israel is building a nuclear naval force meant to respond to any nuclear strike by such countries as Iran or Iraq. It is the first time a U.S. military institution has stated that Israel has produced a hydrogen bomb. The number of purported Israeli nuclear weapons cited in the report is double that of previous assessments. The report, sponsored by the air force's Counterproliferation Center, asserts that the navy can deploy any of what it asserts is Israel's 400 atomic and hydrogen weapons, Middle East Newsline reported. The center is located in the Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
Cops, FBI lied about probe, juror says Woman speaks out on Earth First trial after gag order lifted - Three weeks after they ordered Oakland police and the FBI to pay Earth First organizers $4.4 million, jurors were allowed to speak for the first time Tuesday, and one of them said "investigators were lying so much it was insulting. [...] I'm surprised that they seriously expected anyone would believe them." Nunn, a ticket agent at American Airlines, said she wanted protection from terrorism like the Sept. 11 attacks. But her jury experience made her skeptical about giving law enforcement a blank check to bypass civil liberties. "This trial taught me what it means to be American," Nunn said. "I realize that freedom is something we can never take for granted. . . . We are free because we hold people in power to a higher standard."
Denver-Area Foreclosures Go Through The Roof - Metro-area home foreclosures are headed for their highest level in 11 years, as the battered economy leads to a huge spike in homeowners defaulting on mortgages in the first half of the year.
Why is the US government protecting the anthrax terrorist? - An extraordinary commentary published in Tuesday’s New York Times declares that the FBI is refusing to arrest or seriously investigate the most obvious suspect in the anthrax attacks last fall which killed five people. - Kristof indicts the FBI’s “lackadaisical ineptitude in pursuing the anthrax killer,” writing: “Almost everyone who has encountered the FBI anthrax investigation is aghast at the bureau’s lethargy. Some in the biodefense community think they know a likely culprit, whom I’ll call Mr. Z. Although the bureau has polygraphed Mr. Z., searched his home twice and interviewed him four times, it has not placed him under surveillance or asked its outside handwriting expert to compare his writing to that on the anthrax letters.”
New! July 3, 2002 - Patriot Revolution? Cities From Cambridge to Berkeley Reject Anti-Terror Measure - Cities across the country have been quietly staging a revolt against the USA Patriot Act, saying it gives law enforcement too much power and threatens civil rights. See also: Civil Strife Gets Underway: Many Americans have been quietly enduring their private frustrations as they have watched the steady erosion of their Liberties, Rights and Freedoms. They have felt isolated and powerless. Some have even been ready to give in and give up. To all Americans we say join with us as we unite with those who have struggled for freedom in all generations. The willing sacrifice of life and treasure won America’s freedom and will be required again to preserve it. We cannot, we must not fail to act in the defense of Liberty when that opportunity presents itself. We have a sacred duty to honor the sacrifices of the past and restore freedom to this great nation. The groundswell of public support is coming and we invite you to join us in making it happen. The People’s purpose in this civil action is to convey to the government a five-fold message:

Dozens die as jets collide over Germany More than 70 people, including 52 children, were believed dead after a Russian charter jet collided with a cargo plane over southern Germany, scattering flaming wreckage on the shore of a picturesque lake. Many of the children were from families of high–ranking government and university officials.
New! July 1, 2002 - A 4.4 quake struck Hood today, a major volcano near Portland, Wa. about 60 miles south of St. Helens. The USGS just this morning (07/01/02) put out this statement: "Mount Hood earthquake swarm: The strongest earthquake in the Mount Hood area in decades occurred at 07:36 PDT today. The magnitude 4.5 event, which was located about 4.5 km south of the summit at a depth of 6 km, was widely felt. Hundreds of aftershocks followed, including a 3.8 mag. and 3.2 mag." Their report also states Mt. Hood has seen swarms before, but it is yet determined the magnitude or direction of this current event.
New! June 30, 2002 - At the Crossroads of Terror - Inside the clandestine operations center where the CIA tries to anticipate what al-Qaeda will do next...
New! June 29, 2002 - Noam Chomsky - "...The situation between the US-Israel alliance and the Palestinians remains as before. It is not a confrontation between two local adversaries, and even between those two there is nothing remotely like symmetry. Israel is a major military power, backed fully by the global superpower. For 35 years, it has occupied the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Palestinians are alone, defenseless. The US-backed military occupation has been harsh and brutal from the beginning. [...]
Crucially, the US continues to stand alone in barring the international consensus on a two-state settlement. That consensus, clearly articulated 25 years ago, has been supported by virtually the entire world, and the majority of the US population as well. [...]
The latest Israeli offensive, which reached levels of violence and destruction not seen since Israel's US-backed invasion of Lebanon in 1982, has become an international scandal. [...]
The primary reason for the demands on Arafat are to humiliate and degrade the Palestinian people, for whom he is a national symbol. Humiliation has been the central feature of the occupation for 35 years, and is a familiar feature of the history of colonialism and conquest.
THE BIGGEST NEWS STORY THE WORLD HAS EVER YET TO SEE - It has become clear to me that the next wave of government sponsored terrorism will not be an airplane crashing, or an exploding building, or a tactical nuclear strike - but it will be the murdering of most of the great majority of the US civilian population one day soon - thru a cataclysmic flu epidemic/pandemic over a period of mere weeks [We can't confirm any of this story, but it is interesting considering that the C's suggested that a planned influenza epidemic was possibly an upcoming event.] See also GulagAmerika Considering what we have uncovered in our research on Game Theory, maybe these ideas aren't so crazy. Bush certainly has an evident agenda to get the controls in place in a hurry. Ya'll might want to re-read that section of the Adventures Series starting with Chapter 24. Just a broad overview of the news links on this page since September 11 suggests strongly that something very strange is going on "behind the veil."
The C's had only a couple of remarks to make about the so-called "chemtrails," but those brief remarks are even more significant in light of the Game Theory material, connected to the suggestions in the article linked above, especially after the events we have all witnessed since September 11 particularly their remark "Military budgets must be justified, you know. Review "Military-Industrial Complex 101. [...] when you say "M-IC," you have said a lot!" Here are the excerpts:
U.N. Predicts Chinese AIDS Epidemic - Ten million people could be infected with HIV by the end of the decade as China approaches the brink of an "explosive" epidemic of the disease, according to a U.N. study released Thursday.
Enemy Combatant' Issue Rising To The Fore - The Bush administration pressed forward with its argument yesterday that ''enemy combatants'' should not have access to a lawyer even if they are American citizens. Deputy Solicitor General Paul Clement reiterated the administration's assertion that the president alone has the power to make a determination - not subject to judicial review - that someone is an enemy combatant and that such people should not have access to lawyers. Enemy combatants can also be detained until the war on terrorism ends - another determination that the president alone is empowered to make, Clement argued. [If you aren't worried yet, you had better get worried NOW because you may be the next one determined to be an "enemy combatant!"]
