Location of Sighting: Penicuik, Midlothian
Date of Sighting: Sat 30 Jan 2010
Time: 3.40pm

Witness Statement: Plane coming into land at Edinburgh airport, flying over (approximately) Gorebridge or Dalkeith observed from Penicuik (i.e just to the east of Penicuik).

A light was tracking just underneath the plane for some time. At first thought it was something to do with the plane. The light then left the plane, flew upwards, to the right and then went in an arc or somersault, disappeared momentarily, then re-appeared again. Eventually disappeared again as it was climbing upwards.

US: One of the oddest accounts I've ever read (1996)

Several weeks ago, I called a reader who contacted me and wanted to discuss an incident his late father had written about. After a lengthy conversation and several emails, he agreed to forward the text. This is one of the oddest accounts I have ever read though I was intrigued by the possible implications:

Lon - my name is Ken and I am a reader of your blog. I would like to share a disturbing encounter my father wrote about. He passed away last year and had kept a journal which I found in his safe. There was a separate sheet of paper, folded with an envelope and placed in the journal. I suspect it was a letter he had intended to send at some point. It was dated October 25, 2002, though there was no addressee. By that time, we had moved to Arizona. My mother said that my father claimed he had a terrifying personal encounter but never told her the details. My father was a very serious, private and devout man who didn't indulge in drink or other vices. Because of his sincerity, my mother and I believe this story to be true. The following text was in the letter.

US: Oregon lights hovering 300 feet in air light up ground 'like a football stadium'

Two Oregon witnesses are looking for an explanation after watching lights hovering 300 feet in the air off of Route I-5 that lit up the ground "like a football stadium" on April 10, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The witnesses travel this route daily, and the "lights were unlike anything they have seen before."

Wilsonville is located in both Clackamas and Washington counties, population 17,940, in northwestern, Oregon.

The following is the unedited and as yet uninvestigated report filed with MUFON. Please keep in mind that most UFO reports can be explained as something natural or manmade. If Oregon MUFON State Director Tom Bowden investigates and reports back on this case, I will release an update.

US: Cigar-shaped UFO hovers low over Phoenix, Arizona highway

Two Arizona witnesses traveling along southbound I-17 in the Phoenix area near the 101 Loop watched and passed under a silent and hovering object with lights connected by a "grey mass" on April 10, 2010, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

They first saw the object from a distance and report that it had two bright lights. The object then seemed to disappear when the lights were suddenly shut off, but 40 seconds later, the lights were turned back on and the object moved toward their location.

"We drove by ( and somewhat under it). I slowed down, rolled down my window and saw that there was a thin object between the two lights," the reporting witness stated. "It was solid and the object was close enough to see a gray mass, (perhaps metal because there was a reflection off the mass caused by either the object itself or the lights on the freeway)."

The object was described as "no bigger than a blimp." They also report that there were other cars on the freeway - hoping that more witnesses to this object come forward.

US: UFO buzzes group at Pennsylvania state park, ground light follows them

A group of Pennsylvania witnesses along a cliff in a state park on September 23, 2009, watched a bright light in the sky move quickly toward them and then flew nearby, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

They noticed a "low humming noise like a bee" as the object came close. The experience caused them to run for their car, but they then noticed a light in the woods moving toward them.

"We were very freaked out after this because we looked behind us into the woods and there was a light in the distance getting closer," the reporting witness stated. "It didn't look like a flashlight though more like a lantern because there was no beam of light. We got scared and started for my car then we heard a very very loud whaaauummpp noise that echoed through the woods that seemed to be coming from nowhere in specific."

They also report that they had trouble starting their car.

"When I turned my key in the ignition my car would not start which was very scary because the light in the woods was getting closer. Suddenly the light went out and my car turned on and we were out of there."

I am an officer in the Argentinean Air Force, still on active duty. I perform my duties at the Resistencia Airport, specializing in Meteorology, sub-specializing as a Weather Observer and Radiosonde Operator. I am someone who is able to distinguish atmospheric phenomena and aircraft from any other thing that is suspended in the air.

I shall endeavor to make my story brief. This occurred at the General San Martin base in the Argentinean Antarctic, more or less in April or May 1991. I don't remember very well, but I know that it was at the start of the polar night. The base's crew complement was 20, both scientists and military.

The main protagonists were the three civilians on base, who were in another shack not far from our own and had their laboratory within. As scientists, their job was to study the layers of the upper atmosphere (ionosphere) and that is where they kept their measuring instruments. The engineer is a very good, open-minded person - a resident of Mar del Plata, called XXXX and is an electronic engineer by profession.

Prof. Ana Luisa Cid has shared with us a photo sent by Alfonso Salazar and taken by Mr. Fausto Abaroa in the state of Mexico on March 13, 2010.

In personal correspondence between Salazar and Prof. Cid, he states that Mr. Abaroa took the photos from his home near the suburban community of Ciudad Satélite outside Mexico City. The photo shows a Boeing 727-200 belonging to DHL and a strange orb of light.

"The witness," writes Salazar, "says that the UFO was large and remained stationary in the San Mateo Air Corridor (at the moment the airliner flew past, 14:00 hours). Weather conditions were clear, sunny and windless. It should be noted that at the distance that the airliner maintained from the object, the lives of the Panamanian-registered craft were in danger. This carrier has operated flights to Mexico City for a long time."

Aliens are living on earth disguised as humans, according to one fifth of adults in a new global survey.

The poll questioned 23,000 adults in 22 countries and found that more than 40 per cent of people from India and China believe that alien life exists with a human facade on this planet.

European respondents in the survey were more sceptical with only eight per cent of people from Belgium, Sweden and the Netherlands convinced that life from outer space exists on earth.

US: Four large triangle-shaped UFOs hover over San Diego, California

A California witness saw four, large triangle UFOs over San Diego, California, on April 8, 2010, that were described as she was driving along the 15 North freeway heading North from South San Diego (around Naval Base), according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

The report was made by her husband while the woman was observing the UFOs.

"This was at dusk initially where she was able to make out a definitive triangle shape," the reporting witness stated. "As darkness settled in the triangles became WHITE lights in the sky merging in and out of 1."

The objects were slow moving and silent.

"The motion she described as being very slow...almost at a standstill and hovering. No sound of propulsion as they were silent."

Comment: There is an unsettling pattern emerging in the UFO sightings. It appears that a lot of people are "compelled" to either look out a window at the sky, or to go outside and look at the sky while UFOs are floating around, thus turning former skeptics into "believers." And it seems that some UFOs are flying along, or merely hovering until someone spots them, then they zoom in on the individual or group and fly towards them, or start flashing, or doing crazy maneuvers, or changing their position form horizontal to vertical. It is almost as if they try to attract attention, they want to be seen.

Why would that be?

Phew! It was only a meteorite. "I thought someone shot at me," Jack Steenhof said of his close encounter with an otherworldly kind.

The Oro-Medonte Township resident was on his way to a meeting in Kitchener when something shattered his sunroof.

"It was like a sniper hit me," he said, describing the bullet-sized hole that was surrounded by cracked glass. The safety glass held together, preventing the glass, and the foreign object, from striking Steenhof.

The timing was perfect -- or, at least, as good is it can get in such a situation. Steenhof was westbound on Highway 7 at Highway 400, and was travelling less than 10 kilometres an hour at the time. On his way to pick up a colleague from a carpool lot, he was approaching a stoplight when the astral assault occurred.
