Scotland: Nethy man spots UFO

A UFO "shimmering orange in colour with a deeper red glow" is the latest in a spate of sightings of mysterious objects made above Badenoch and Strathspey.

A Nethy Bridge resident, who did not want to be identified, is the latest individual to have witnessed unusual activity locally in the sky since the end of last year.

He described an intense source of light racing low over the hills to the east towards the village before stopping when it reached Abernethy Forest last Tuesday night.

The man was keen to go public with his UFO sighting in the hope that it had been seen by others or so that a rational explanation could be given for the mystery object.

The National UFO Reporting Center has received reports from across the nation -- all of them describing a bright, colorful, moving object in the Monday night sky.

One of them came from Kennewick, Washington

The object, at the time unidentified, caught the eye of Aubren Scofield and her husband, Tommy. Soon, they noticed it was moving, maybe even flying.

"It's quite strange," Scofield said. "It's more like a white, orbish thing with red lights."

The couple grabbed a camera, a telephoto lens and headed for the library on Union Street to get a better look. Aubren said they shot about 90 photos.

"They are very, very interesting," she said. "It's not like anything normal."

Actually, it is normal, according to Peter Davenport, director of the National UFO Reporting Center.

"It's the star Sirius," he said.

India: 'Mysterious' animal still untraced

The search for the mysterious animal that attacked four persons is not over in Ballia. It was on April 9 that four villagers under Bhimpura police station were left injured by an animal which forest officials suspect to be a fishing cat.

The efforts like caging and deploying extra staff to track the animal in the vicinity of Govindpura village under Biltra Road range of Ballia has not yielded any result. "We will deploy extra staff till the harvesting period of wheat is continuing," said RK Singh, DFO, Ballia.

The officials do not deny the presence of the animal as the villagers have sustained injuries and one of them was even seriously injured. Initially, the floating rumours suggested it to be a leopard. But since no pugmarks and no kills (animals killed to prey on) reported from the area it was difficult to confirm the type of the wild cat behind the attack.

US: New triangle UFO over Lake Havasu, Arizona

A new report just in of a UFO over Lake Havasu, Arizona, after a regional salesman visiting the area April 1, 2009, said he witnessed a "massive, dark, triangular" object pass overhead.

Reached by telephone April 21, the man said the object came from behind him, and he first saw the UFO directly overhead - and then watched as it very slowly moved over Lake Havasu.

If you held your hand out at arm's length, he said the size of the object would be between "two to three times the size" of the palm of your hand.

"It didn't move too rapidly," he said. "It seemed to take forever to move over the lake." He watched the object move for about 10 minutes before it went out of sight.

Witnesses may report directly to me here on specific cases, but I request that everyone please report their UFOs at the MUFON.com web site so that the body of evidence can be studied. Thanks to the many witnesses who followed up with me here, and to those who have shared past memories of UFO cases. We have a staff of illustrators who can create graphic representations to your stories.

US: UFO sighting reported from a retired air traffic controller in Texas; latest reports

Fredericksburg, Texas - 4/21/2009

Sighting reports are especially intriguing when received from a witness experienced in recognizing conventional aircraft, flight patterns, atmospheric conditions, etc. The following report was filed by a retired air traffic controller living in Texas. The witness was driving north on Highway 16, ten miles south of Fredericksburg, Texas. Westbound en route aircraft at cruising altitude, with contrail, was observed at 12 o'clock high, with an extremely bright object spotted approximately the same azimuth as the aircraft, at 10 o'clock. At first the witness thought it might be sunlight reflecting from another aircraft. The altitude of the object was much lower than the enroute aircraft, in addition to being much brighter, and stationary. The witness was able to begin to make out the shape and detail of the object as it became brighter, and described a vertical cylinder, with cone-shaped ends. The object was initially shiny silver in color, before becoming an increasingly brighter white, and somewhat yellowish, until he was no longer able to make out the shape of the object. The event lasted for approximately three minutes.

The Youtube video below is creating a bit of a stir amongst European ufologists. Allegedly this sighting occurred in the city of Paderborn around a week ago at dawn. It sure seems an odd time of day for anything other than a UFO to be buzzing the town centre.

US: Livingston, California mystery rock might be from space

It's clear a 170-pound black boulder doesn't belong embedded half-a-foot into a sandy loam field north of Livingston.

The puzzle is whether it fell from the sky -- a meteorite on a collision course with Earth. Or if the giant rock was abandoned 10 feet off the road for some unknown reason, coincidentally about the same time residents saw a fireball burning in the Central Valley sky.

The missing piece of information should be known in a few weeks, if not sooner.

A series of mystery vibrations are baffling residents in Portslade.

The strange sensations, likened to tinnitus, have been ringing around the area since August. But residents and businesses are stumped over its origins.

The Argus was contacted anonymously by a resident of Locks Crescent who has been feeling the sensation.

She said: "It's been ruining my life I just have to find out the cause. I can only feel it when it's really quiet or when I m lying down.

A Territory mother has backed up claims unidentified flying objects have returned to the Top End after she photographed two "discs of light" in the sky.

The mother-of-three, who wished only to be known by her first name Kym, took the photo as she watched the dark rain clouds roll towards her Palmerston home last month.

Kym said the image was taken on her mobile phone and that she didn't notice the strange lights in the clouds until she downloaded her pictures on to her computer.
