Unknown object lights up sky in western Canada

People across western Canada - including in Saskatoon - saw an unknown bright object fly through the sky early Tuesday morning.

The object appeared at around 6:30 a.m., according to one witness who was out for a jog on Saskatoon streets. He said it looked like a "lit match" going across the sky from east to west.

Another witness, Cheryl Cook-Taylor, was on her way to work in North Battleford when she saw it.

"It kind of glowed green, and it looked like it was falling very, very quickly," she said. "It just kind of reminded me of a falling star or something."

Australia: UFOs circle Top End

UNIDENTIFIED flying objects have returned to the Top End.

Alan Ferguson said the UFOs were "buzzing" around his Acacia Hills home earlier this month after he noticed a bright silver flickering object in front of a cloud. He immediately grabbed his camera.

"I fired off about 50 shots," he said. "One of them you can see a circle in the top left hand corner, then five or six shots later it's moved to the right."

Mr Ferguson put Acacia Hills on the international map last year when he first photographed UFOs flying around his home, 50km south of Darwin.

US: 'Dark' video shows difficulty of UFO capture

Night time photography is tough. And being nervous at the same time because you think you've just spotted a UFO doesn't help.

The following video takes a lot of patience. A Virginia woman spotted what appeared to be a triangular object in the sky March 29 - something solid with three points of light moving across the sky. She is one of the brave few who had the time to actually get a video camera out and shoot while the object was still in view.

But what the eye sees in the night time sky and what the camera captures can be two totally different creatures.

I cut out the beginning of the video because, as she states, there is a lot of black screen. But take a look for yourself and see if you can see the three points of light. The video quality is somewhat dumbed down for this presentation, and is better if you watch it at the MUFON.COM site. Apologies again for the long stretches of totally black screen - the story is better than the video quality here, and I hope you make it over to MUFON.com to see the better, original video. (Okay, my wife swears the entire video is black screen, but I've seen the lights and the triangle.)

The woman's testimony follows, as reported in the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.

Comment: It has been shown that the lights seen over the east coast was not debris from a Russian rocket that broke up in the earth's atmosphere.
According to data published by US Strategic Command, the rocket reentry happened near Taiwan (24° N, 125° E) more than two hours after the Atlantic Coast event.

US: Multiple UFO witnesses at high security Missouri complex

More than 13 witnesses came forward this week - both military and civilian employees - who work at the Bannister Federal Complex in Kansas City, Missouri - reporting three UFO incidents at the base on March 1 and 2, 2009, according to testimony received by a Missouri Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) field investigator.

Out of fear of reprisal, the witnesses all want to remain anonymous.

Witnesses all agree that what they saw was a glowing gold-colored ball, but vary in their size and height descriptions as they were observing from different points.

Canadian watchdog group exposes Canadian government cover-up policy on ET/UFO sightings and landings

Exopolitics Toronto, a citizen grass-roots watchdog group based in Toronto, Canada has issued an online report exposing the Canadian government's policy of covering up UFO and extraterrestrial-related sightings and interactions. After studying the Canadian government's release of 9500 files on its Archives Canada website, Exopolitics Canada concludes, "Although the UFO files compiled by high level government officials provide an interesting chronology of Canada's accumulation of UFO sightings, many of the files also tell a dramatic story about how high level government officials orchestrated meetings, agendas, memoranda and Ministerial letters designed to play-down and ultimately cover-up the UFO issue with measures similar to those used by the American government."

Canada's low-key release of UFO and ET-related files

Exopolitics Toronto points out that although the U.K. Ministry of Defence, the French and Danish governments released secret UFO/ET-related files in 2007, 2008, and through February 2009 to much orchestrated media coverage of a public disclosure process, the Canadian governmental agencies release of secret UFO/ET files relating to the period 1947-1983 took place in August 2005 and December 2007 with no orchestrated public media coverage.

Government of Canada Provides Open Access to UFO X-Files

The Canadian government has made available 9,500 files on UFO sightings and direct government actions related to national policy concerning craft of unknown origin. These once-restricted and secret files originate from the Department of National Defense, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Department of Transport and the National Research Council. These files describe thousands of Canadian UFO sighting reports in great detail. Although the UFO files compiled by high level government officials provide an interesting chronology of Canada's accumulation of UFO sightings, many of the files also tell a dramatic story about how high level government officials orchestrated meetings, agendas, memoranda and Ministerial letters designed to play-down and ultimately cover-up the UFO issue with measures similar to those used by the American government.

England: Bear spotted in Rendlesham Forest

If you go down to the woods today you're in for a big surprise...

According to a number of visitors to Rendlesham Forest, bears are roaming the Suffolk countryside.

At least three people claim to have seen the grizzly beasts in the forest within the last week, although bears are not native to Britain.

Bizarre sightings are nothing new to the site which is a favourite among conspiracy theorists after UFOs were supposedly spotted there in the 1980s.

One of those who saw the creature is Jenny Pearce who said: "I was on the green at Rendlesham Forest having a picnic with my three-year-old son and his friend's family.

"After the picnic we stayed to play and explore the woods. While we were in the forest I saw a large animal moving through the trees ahead.

Meteor

US: Streaking lights, explosions reported all along coast

If the fireball and explosion witnessed by residents along the mid-Atlantic coast Sunday night was a meteor, it's likely that it survived to hit the ground, an astronomy expert says.

The explosions occurred one to two minutes after the fireball disappeared, which means that a meteor penetrated deep into the atmosphere, said Alan MacRobert, senior editor of Sky and Telescope magazine. That makes it more likely that meteorites survived to hit the ground, although it is not certain.

MacRobert encouraged eyewitnesses to report what they saw at American Meteor Society, or at Spaceweather.com. Scientists can predict where to look for meteorites on the ground "if enough people can accurately reconstruct the flight path that they saw in the sky, or if they can simply say 'It went behind that tree,' " he said.

S. Kent Blackwell, an amateur astronomer, was sky-watching in Pungo when the explosion occurred around 10 p.m. Sunday.

"This brilliant green meteor was probably two or three times brighter than the full moon," Blackwell said. "Then it turned orange with a white core and disappeared."
