A South African couple was witness to a 300-foot long black, silent, triangular-shaped UFO that "blocked out the stars" as it moved across the sky over their back yard.

The 10-second sighting by these two pilots in May 1996 is something that they will never forget.

Following is the original account from the witnesses. Only minor edits were made.

We are Brian & Lynette van Malsen from a town called Springs 50 miles east of Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa.

And we saw what your witnesses saw in your UFO news of AZ town in exact detail only 13 year's earlier.

We are both retired pilots and very aware of things in the sky. And we can recall our sighting like it happened yesterday.

A man and his wife were witness to a silent, low level, massive triangular-shaped UFO just 100 yards overhead along a rural road near a small mountain town in North Carolina.

The then 34-year-old man and his 21-year-old wife were buzzing along on his Yamaha Virago 920 when they first noticed a red light closing in on them.

The witness recently contacted me to share this most interesting story from 1986.

An Indiana man looking to retrieve golf balls from a field March 21 stumbled upon a 12-foot diameter impression in the ground that looked like a crop circle.

The man returned to photograph the circle, and upon hearing his mother say she saw something "strange in the sky," he returned again with a friend to take more photos and collect soil samples. The two men then discovered that the ground inside the circle was dry, while soil nearby was moist. Also of note, although not well defined, was "a pile of dead corn stalks and bean stalks inside the circle that seem to show evidence of a swirl pattern."

A couple have been left baffled by the identity of a set of strange lights they saw in the sky above their home near Wrexham on Sunday evening.

The man and wife, who do not wish to be named, had just returned to their home in Sontley Road, just outside Wrexham in north east Wales, at about 7.40pm and parked their car on the driveway when they looked up and saw the lights passing overhead.

The man said: "At first there was just one of them. It looked like the underside of a helicopter and was at about the same height you see them travelling. But while helicopters usually make a lot of noise, there was absolutely no sound coming from this object.

The latest batch of 'X-Files' have been opened up to the public for the first time showing detailed UFO sightings all over the North East.

The documents, released by the Ministry of Defence this week, covers the period from 1987 to 1993.

They reveal that dozens of unexplained sightings have been reported in the region from Northumberland to County Durham.

Strange sightings including coloured lights, weird objects and moving discs, have been spotted in the skies.

One of the more spectacular incidents was recorded over Washington. During September 1988 four people reported seeing an object in the sky, which split into three circular parts of about 10 feet in diameter. The shapes changed colour from bright white to yellow.

A bright white UFO was spotted over West Ashby on Sunday night.

Darren Hancock, who lives in the village, told the News he witnessed a carrot shaped object moving through the skies in the direction of Coningsby.

He said he saw it at about 8pm and it was white with a greenish colour at the front.

Mr Hancock said: "You couldn't miss it, it was moving quite fast in a perfect straight line.

Last summer alien-hunters descended on South Wales after a police helicopter crew reported a UFO above RAF St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The pilot was at 500ft awaiting clearance to land when he spotted what appeared to be another craft hurtling towards him from below.

A source said: "The chopper had to swerve sharply to avoid being hit.

"The guys said if they'd stayed where they were, they'd be dead - it would have been a direct hit.

"They are convinced it was a UFO. It sounds far-fetched, but they know what they saw.

Few new peer-reviewed papers are as highly anticipated as the one announced below that has been published today. The floodgates to similar examinations of significance in mammalogy, zoology and cryptozoology will now be opened with this publication indicating the first new wave in such discussions! Congratulations to the authors.

Henry Gee, editor of Nature said, with the discovery of Homo floresiensis, that Cryptozoology had "come in from the cold."

I find, as the breaking tide of the 21st century begins lapping at our feet, due to this paper, indeed, that Cryptozoology has emerged from the cold water.

I was on my way to an appointment, and had just turned onto northbound Wadsworth Blvd from Center Ave, in the Belmar area of Lakewood. A second or two after making the turn, I noticed this white "line" (could have been cylinder, cigar, disc or almost any shape) moving fairly quickly from left to right (west to east) well ahead of me - I estimate at least a few miles, maybe several miles (could have been over Wheat Ridge or Arvada...). As it got further east, the white color dimmed to a gray color, probably from going underneath the shade of a cloud (just a good guess). It was difficult to keep a really good eye on it as I was in rather heavy traffic, which was slowing down as I approached Alameda Ave., so I had to also keep a good eye on the traffic. I lost sight of it as it went out of view (an office building on the NE corner of Wadsworth & Alameda blocked my view). Once the traffic had moved forward enough, past Alameda Ave, I looked for it again, but could not see it, and had to continue to be careful driving. It might have still been there, but harder to see perhaps because it closely matched the color of background clouds? It also would have been getting farther away (farther to the east). I did not have a camera with me, and even if I had had one, I wouldn't have had time to turn it on, aim it and snap pictures while driving in heavy traffic - would have been very unsafe, also.
