A sloth bear allegedly attacked and injured a villager near Pilibhit tiger reserve early on Thursday, in the second such attack on humans in less than a week here. The frequency of the incidents has triggered alarm among wildlife experts and conservationists, since sloth bears are not known to venture out into human habitations and aggressively attack humans.
According to a press release issued by Sgt. Aron Chrisman, officers were called to a report of a woman being attacked by a pack of dogs, described as pitbulls, at the intersection of W. Second and Oak Streets. An arriving officer encountered five dogs chasing the woman, who got into a truck for safety. The dogs split and two of them headed south. Three dogs ran toward at an officer and the officer deployed a Taser at the dogs. He struck one dog, which ran off. All of the dogs grouped back up at a home in the 200 block of Oak Street, later determined to the home where the dogs belonged.
Since Katrina, climate activists have beat a steady drumbeat warning of doom.... the science is extremely clear now, that warmer oceans make the average hurricane stronger, not only makes the winds stronger, but dramatically increases the moisture from the oceans evaporating into the storm - thus magnifying its destructive power - makes the duration, as well as the intensity of the hurricane, stronger.
Last year we had a lot of hurricanes. Last year, Japan set an all-time record for typhoons: ten, the previous record was seven. Last year the science textbooks had to be re-written. They said, "It's impossible to have a hurricane in the south Atlantic." We had the first one last year, in Brazil. We had an all-time record last year for tornadoes in the United States, 1,717 - largely because hurricanes spawned tornadoes.
Comment: Earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanic eruptions, meteor fireballs, tornadoes, deluges, sinkholes and more have been on the rise since the turn of the century. Research put together by Pierre Lescaudron and Laura Knight-Jadczyk strongly suggest that these events are intimately connected and may have a common cause.
