Two people were killed and four others trapped after a landslide on Sunday hit a three-story residential building in Yangjiang City, south China's Guangdong Province, according to the national fire department.

The landslide occurred at around 2:50 a.m. local time. The local fire brigade has been dispatched to the site for search and rescue operations.

Severe weather increases the difficulty of the rescue mission and could trigger a secondary slide, said authorities.

Aerial footage shows what appears to be new landslides on the foothills of Casper Mountain.

Drone footage made by Jeremy Thies shows slabs of land that appear to have moved recently following days of rain and snowmelt.

There have been numerous reports of rockslides and land movement round the state after a heavy dose of spring moisture over the last couple of weeks.

Thies, an area landscape and wildlife photographer, says the footage was shot "up from Wolf Creek" on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

Oil City News has reached out to BLM for more information and will update when it becomes available.

Adapt 2030 Ice Age Report: Tornado outbreaks and spiking corn prices

Water floods a cornfield in Malden, Illinois, U.S., on Wednesday, May 29, 2019
© Daniel Acker/BloombergWater floods a cornfield in Malden, Illinois, U.S., on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Claims known as prevented plant pay out when farmers are unable to sow crops at all. With unceasing rain keeping farmers out of fields, growers are increasingly weighing how best to get paid and ease the impact from the bad weather and an escalating U.S.-China trade war.
Major headlines scream of the tornado outbreak across the USA being solely caused by CO2 climate changes, but if we look back to 2003, there were more severe outbreaks as well as the 1970's. Corn prices about to spike through the roof as last plant by dates will be misses or farmers will plant in standing water fields to qualify for federal crop insurance. Here we go, up and up on food prices.

Canadian wildfires are already turning sunsets red in the US

The calendar hasn't turned to summer yet, but skies in Canada and across the U.S. already look like August. Smoke from massive Canadian wildfires has made the sun disappear in Edmonton and turned Friday's sunrise blood red as far east as Vermont.

More than 900,000 acres of Alberta has gone up in flames, the latest symptom of our overheating planet. Wildfire risk continues to be high in the province as well as neighboring British Columbia where a heat wave has temperatures climbing into the 90s for parts of the province through the weekend.

There are currently 10 fires in Alberta raging out of control according to the province's fire agency. The largest of which is the Chuckegg Creek Fire burning in the northwest part of the province. The blaze, combined with others in the High Level fire district, has consumed more than 610,000 acres as of Thursday according to the agency, and along with the other wildfires in the province, forced 10,000 to flee from their homes.

The province remains on a Level 5 alert, the highest alert level the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) issues, due to a combination of factors including dangerous weather, high fuel loads, and inadequate resources to respond to any new fires. The country as a whole remains on a Level 3 alert, and with a hot, dry weekend ahead for British Columbia, Alberta, and parts of the Yukon Territory, the threat of more conflagrations remains acute.

Bangsar residents were stopped in their tracks recently after they spotted an unusual phenomenon in the sky.

Several Facebook users in "The Republic of Bangsar #TROB" group shared pictures of the visual spectacle that occurred on the evening of May 28.

The photos show thick clouds with aurora-like lights peeking out from behind, creating a bright burst of colour in the sky.

Group member Michael Liew suggested that the event might have been a crown flash, a rare weather phenomenon caused by sunlight reflecting or refracting off small ice crystals in the clouds.

"Blessed that I managed to witness this elusive and majestic phenomenon. Mother Nature is truly amazing," he wrote.

Several users took to the comments section to share their own pictures taken at different locations.

"Was driving back from Kajang (and I was) awestruck by its beauty," said Gaithri Selvarajah.

A deceased Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, the world’s most endangered sea turtle and the Texas state sea turtle, is found on the upper Texas coast during the highest recorded stranding event in one month since 1980.
The number of sea turtle strandings along the Texas coastline reached the highest number ever recorded in one month during April and May, the height of sea turtle nesting season.

A total of 159 stranded sea turtles were recorded in April—the highest number of strandings in one month since monitoring began in 1980. Strandings are continuing at a rapid pace, and the latest data shows 186 turtles stranded in Texas through May 21. Most of the turtles were dead when found.

Among those found were 68 dead Kemp's ridley sea turtles, the Texas state sea turtle and the world's most endangered sea turtle with a nesting population of between 7,000 and 9,000 female turtles. The death of even one Kemp's ridley sea turtle is of grave concern.
