Taking a stand! Goya Foods CEO won't apologize for complimenting Trump, says boycott is 'suppression of speech'

Unanue said he would not apologize for his positive remarks toward the president, and called demands for a boycott of his company "suppression of speech."
The chief executive officer at Goya Foods, Inc. said Friday that he will not issue an apology for positive remarks made toward President Donald Trump, and called demands to boycott his company "suppression of speech."

"It is suppression of speech.... You're allowed to talk good or to praise one president, but you're not allowed, when I was called to be part of this commission, to aid in economic and educational prosperity, and you make a positive comment, and all of a sudden it is not acceptable," Robert Unanue, the CEO at Goya, said during an appearance on Fox News' Fox & Friends.

Unanue, who is of Spanish and Puerto Rican descent, was invited by Trump to the White House to watch as the president signed an executive order for the Hispanic Prosperity Initiative, which is a commission tasked with improving "access by Hispanic Americans to educational and economic opportunities," according to the order.

The Goya CEO was among several elected officials and business leaders present in the Rose Garden for the signing, and he said, "We are all truly blessed...to have a leader like President Trump who is a builder.

A Declaration of Independence by a Princeton professor

John Witherspoon
Cast bronze statue of John Witherspoon, Princeton's sixth president.
In Congress, on July 4th, 1776, came the "unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America." Signed by 56 men, many of whom were considered national heroes just a few minutes ago, it opens with a long and elegant sentence whose first words every American child knows, or used to: "When in the Course of human events..." In Princeton, New Jersey, on July 4th, 2020, just two hours after my family and I sat around the festive table and read the Declaration aloud in celebration, a group of signatories now in the hundreds published a "Faculty Letter" to the president and other senior administrators at Princeton University.

This letter begins with the following blunt sentence: "Anti-Blackness is foundational to America." One important difference between the two documents might wrongly be dismissed as merely cosmetic. In 1776 there were "united States" but there was not yet the "United States"; in these past two months, by contrast, at a time when we are increasingly un-united, "black" has become "Black" while "white" remains "white."

I am friends with many people who signed the Princeton letter, which requests and in some places demands a dizzying array of changes, and I support their right to speak as they see fit. But I am embarrassed for them. To judge from conversations with friends and all too much online scouting, there are two camps: those cheering them on and those who wouldn't dream of being associated with such a document. No one is in the middle. If you haven't yet read it, do so now. Be warned: it is long.

Hundreds of UK police officers have convictions for crimes including assault, burglary and animal cruelty

More than 200 serving police officers in the UK have convictions for criminal offences
Police employ at least 211 officers and PCSOs with criminal convictions, but most forces refuse to disclose the information.

More than 200 serving police officers in the UK have convictions for criminal offences including assault, burglary, drug possession and animal cruelty, Sky News can reveal.

Forces across the country employ at least 211 police officers and PCSOs who were guilty of crimes, according to data released under the Freedom of Information Act.

The actual number is likely to be much higher, however, after just a third of forces revealed how many of their officers have criminal convictions, with many claiming it would cost too much to retrieve the information.

Comment: What is clear is that the ponerization process in the police has begun, and it's clearly further along in some forces than it is in others: Also check out SOTT radio's:

10,000 Greek protesters fight against bill to ban public gatherings, later petrol bombs and stun grenades were exchanged

athens protest lockdown
Athens police were bombarded with Molotov cocktails and pelted with stones amid major protests against a new government bill limiting public gatherings.

Some 10,000 people had assembled to protest across the Greek capital. Shortly after 8.30pm local time, a group of some 200 agitators were gathered outside the parliament building in Syntagma Square, when all hell broke loose.

Irate protesters pelted cops with Molotov cocktails, stones and bottles, prompting the police to respond in kind with volleys of tear-gas canisters and stun grenades. Eyewitness video from the scene captured the chaos as it unfolded.

Comment: Similar tyrannical measures are being enforced by governments elsewhere, it would appear that some in power don't want to give up their newly gained totalitarian control:

Pizzagate 2.0? Wayfair denies its insanely priced cabinets and pillows are a front for child trafficking

Wayfair pricing
A new conspiracy theory surrounding products advertised by the home goods and furniture seller Wayfair now joins previous unsubstantiated allegations like Pizzagate regarding worldwide pedophilic sex trafficking among the economic elite.

The Wayfair conspiracy theory that became a social media sensation on Friday began with a post to the Conspiracy subreddit, which promotes user-submitted conspiracy theories, many thinly evidenced or unevidenced, to more than a million subscribers.

"Is it possible Wayfair involved in Human trafficking with their WFX Utility collection? Or are these just extremely overpriced cabinets? (Note the names of the cabinets) this makes me sick to my stomach if it's true," redditor PrincessPeach1987 posted on Thursday, alongside a screenshot from Wayfair's mobile website featuring four storage cabinets โ€” products named Neriah, Yaritza, Samiyah and Alyvia โ€” that cost between $12,699.99 and $14,499.99.

Comment: Newsweek, just like the other media outlets reporting on this story, are passing it off as just another 'conspiracy theory'. As with Pizzagate, there are too many questions and oddities that when added up paint a more sinister picture. While we may never know with 100% certainty this is indeed what's happening, we can assume whatever method they use to 'advertise', it will always maintain the cover of plausible deniability.

The destructive response to COVID: Maintaining a dignity of intelligence in a time of social modification

covid
Both scientific and medical debate continues to unfold in not only the dubious nature of what we currently identify as COVID-19, but also - and more intensely perhaps - over the ongoing global response to the virus itself. At the same time, however, this ever-important issue of COVID lockdowns is being glossed over daily by the more sensationalized stories of racial protests.

In many ways, the protests provide an illegitimate cover; an unfortunate distraction of sorts which diverts the public's attention away from the shoddy and unsustainable COVID precautions which clearly deserve to be further examined. Additionally, as is the classical tactic of any divisive agenda, the racial climate that we now find ourselves in has successfully (and incredulously) served to create even further partition between individuals, communities, groups, and even the very same ethnic races that have labored to overcome the oppression that has plagued the West for so long. Ironically, we now find ourselves regressing to knee-jerk policies that actually promotes egregation rather than protect against it.

Consequently, this new division in our society has delayed our collective resolve to soberly examine the destructive response to SARS-COV-2. According to a Pew Research Center poll from June 29th, there is a general trend of decreasing intensity when it comes to the public consumption of news around COVID-19. The Pew study specifically mentioned that
"the June survey, which took place as demonstrations following the killing of George Floyd were dominating headlines, shows a decrease in those paying very close attention to the COVID-19 outbreak. The 39% of U.S. adults reporting this highest level of engagement is down from 46% in late April and 57% in late March, when the outbreak was first forcing shutdowns around the country" (Pew Research Center, June 29). Similarly, an Ipsos Reid poll from June 18th concludes that "a majority of people in nine out of 16 major countries say there are much bigger issues to worry about than the coronavirus with all protests going on in the United States and elsewhere" (Ipsos Reid, June 18).

Black Cat

The great race bait: Don't fall for it

black militia
Isn't it odd that the political left claims to be so adamantly opposed to racism, yet they are the first people in the room to make generalizations based on race? Maybe it's not so odd, at least when you consider the history of social justice movements and the people who fund them. There is power to be had in creating a "race war" narrative, and the chaos surrounding such a conflict could be easily exploited. By making everything about race, the political left is perhaps unwittingly serving the interests of the very wealthy elites they claim to despise.

As I predicted in my article 'Order Out Of Chaos: The Defeat Of The Left Comes With A Cost' back in 2016:
"When I mentioned in my last article the crippling of social justice, I did not mention that this could have some negative reverberations. With Trump and conservatives taking near-total power after the Left had assumed they would never lose again, their reaction has been to transform. They are stepping away from the normal activities and mindset of cultural Marxism and evolving into full blown communists. Instead of admitting that their ideology is a failure in every respect, they are doubling down.

When this evolution is complete, the Left WILL resort to direct violent action on a larger scale, and they will do so with a clear conscience because, in their minds, they are fighting fascism. Ironically, it will be this behavior by leftists that may actually push conservatives towards a fascist model. Conservatives might decide to fight crazy with more crazy."

It's never enough: 'Cancel Hamilton' calls demand musical creators swear fealty to BLM AGAIN

The musical 'Hamilton' is facing a new wave of criticism because of the slave owning past of the titular character. This is Black Lives Matter's second strike against the creators, who didn't bend the knee fast enough before.

Stop me if you've heard this one before. The showrunners of the Tony Award winning musical 'Hamilton' have been criticized for (insert controversy here). It seems like Lin Manuel Miranda can't catch a break, or the show in general. Recently, #CancelHamilton gained traction on social media, complaining about the show portraying a man who owned slaves in a positive light. This started as the show debuts on Disney Plus.

Barely over a month ago, the show creator swore fealty to Black Lives Matter, having been pressured into apologizing for the 'moral failure' - not because he didn't speak up, but because he didn't speak up quickly enough. To prove his commitment, he listed other current events that have not escaped a quick comment.

Next up, conversion therapy: The new left says you're a bigot unless you have sex with EVERY gender

gay pride

It sounds insane to say, but the party that once rallied against gay conversion therapy is coming shockingly close to promoting it themselves. All under the guise of supporting the trans community.

Suck the d**k, bigot. No, really! In today's increasingly strange world, in order to show full allegiance to those who tick the final letter of the LGBT acronym, one must forgo all dating preferences and swallow their pride - or something else - to prove they are true allies.

A fringe belief is gaining traction, and previously well-respected publications such as the BBC are now promoting people who present the idea that 'genital preferences' are transphobic. In an article titled 'The black transgender push to keep the fight alive at LGBT Pride', non-trans gay men are called 'transphobic' for not wanting to date trans men. Aka, biological females.

Change the policies! Don't bail out feckless states without strings attached

Governor Prizker
© Fowler/The State Journal-Register via AP, PoolGovernor of Illinois, J.B Pritzker
On July 1, Illinois state workers got an automatic pay raise. In all, those raises will cost taxpayers $261 million. Meanwhile, nearly 1.4 million Illinoisans have filed for unemployment since COVID-19 shuttered much of the economy in March.

Other state governments have operated on the principle of shared sacrifice, recognizing the need to pare back demands on taxpayers amid major revenue shortfalls. Blue state governors in Washington, Pennsylvania, New York and Virginia have cut costs through measures including canceled pay raises, furloughs and 15% agency spending cuts for fiscal year 2021.

In Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker just signed a budget that increases spending by $2.4 billion over last year and relies on $5 billion from a nonexistent federal bailout to partially close a $6 billion deficit. Ironically, this continued disregard for basic fiscal responsibility shows why Illinois stands as the best single argument against state bailouts.
