Society's ChildS

As an adopted person, I find the Left's attacks on Amy Coney Barrett's Haitian children beyond contempt

It was inevitable that there would be criticism of Judge Amy Coney Barrett, who was recently nominated to the US Supreme Court. But claiming her adopted children are shields against racism is truly abhorrent.

Back in 1985, I was adopted by a middle class family in Illinois. Four years later, that same family adopted a little girl who is biracial. One thing that I can say with absolute confidence is that there are zero things wrong with adoption.

In fact, statistics say that children who are adopted are much happier than they would have been if stuck in the original situation that they were born into. It's a wonderful thing, and there's a reason why so many communities get so excited for families who do adopt, because it is a blessing from God to be able to raise a child.

Last week, I predicted that Judge Coney Barrett would likely face a character smearing from the political Left on the announcement of her nomination to the US Supreme Court. I had a feeling that it would be dirty, and that it would be likely based around her religion (she's a devout Catholic).

Time for some NeuroSpeculative AfroFeminism Research: Forget activism, here comes 'artivism' in support of BLM's marxist aims

A new art exhibition opening in the UK this week is packed with so much neo-Marxist nonsense, I thought at first it must be a parody. Sadly, it's not. But it is moralising, boring, and - you guessed it - taxpayer funded.

You could be forgiven for thinking an exhibition opening in Coventry this week was a spoof, a satirical piece of work by some comedian gently taking the mickey out of today's increasingly woke art world. More's the pity, it isn't.

Advance press releases for 'Thirteen Ways of Looking' (opening on October 2) promise art by 13 artists, all discussed on the bases of identity and politics, as is expected in a British tax-funded public venue in 2020.

Mexico has issued 25 arrest warrants for those who carried out and knew about the abduction of 43 students in southern Mexico in 2014, including for the first time members of the military and federal police, the Attorney General's Office announced Saturday.

"Those responsible for the forced disappearance of the 43 students in the south of the country are fully identified" and will be prosecuted, unlike the manipulation and cover-up that happened under the previous administration, said Attorney General Alejandro Gertz Manero on the sixth anniversary of their disappearance.

Omar Gómez Trejo, the prosecutor leading the case of the students from the teachers' college at Ayotzinapa in Guerrero state, said one federal police officer was already in custody.

Comment: So basically it took the outrage and demands of the abducted students' families, as well as the vacancy of corrupt leaders, for anything to be done about the abduction of almost 4 dozen students. Sad. Inexcusable. Horrible.

Twitter ripped for taking no action after 'journalist' tweets Kenosha shooter Rittenhouse should be STABBED TO DEATH in prison

Conservatives have been up in arms over Twitter's failure to remove a journalist's call for teen shooter Kyle Rittenhouse to be murdered in prison, while at the same time wiping out tweets in his support.

Journalist Dustin Nichols tweeted on Saturday that Rittenhouse, who was charged with murder after shooting three people last month in Kenosha, should be stabbed to death in prison. The post elicited an avalanche of angry reaction from conservatives, while also prompting questions about Twitter censorship after the company declined to delete the tweet for 20 hours and counting.

"The real hero will be the inmate that stabs Kyle to death once he gets booked," Nichols said.

Candace Owens' new book takes a sledgehammer to Democrats, BLM, abortionists & George Floyd - but will it achieve its goal?

Blackout is a liberal sacred cow abattoir that slaughters its way through left-wing arguments about everything from police brutality to education and family values.

Candace Owens, the conservative political commentator and social media sensation, has released her first book, and it could not be timelier. The book is not subtle, as its subtitle, "how black America can make its second escape from the Democrat plantation," suggests. It is more of a sledgehammer than a stiletto in the way it deals with Democratic arguments and their framing of American history.

The tome is unapologetically partisan in favour of the Republican Party and particularly President Trump; however, even if you do not agree with Owens' conclusion that America's only option is four more years of The Donald, her analysis of the facts is very difficult to dispute.

Man breaks out of quarantine using bedsheet, later detained by police, in Auckland, New Zealand

Ramada
He was swiftly taken into custody by police at the Ramada hotel in Auckland's Federal St.
A quarantined traveller has been caught trying to escape from an Auckland hotel after tying bedsheets together to scale four storeys down.

The man had been deported from Australia on September 16, and tested negative on day three and day 12 of his stay. He is on day 12 today.

The bedsheet ladder was discovered at 8.20am today by on-site security, said Air Commodore Darryn Webb, head of managed isolation and quarantine.

The man - who had been deported from Australia earlier this month - was swiftly taken into custody by police.

Comment: That one needs to break out of quarantine rather than simply choosing to leave of ones own free will reflects how the authorities now view citizens; although, worryingly, there are many, many more examples:

State school board reverses support for Black Lives Matter

The Mona Shores, Michigan, school board has rescinded its support for the Black Lives Matter movement after a resolution backing it drew the ire of many in the community.

"The intent of the [Black Lives Matter] resolution was to unify, and it was becoming divisive instead," Superintendent Bill O'Brien told MLive Tuesday after recommending the resolution be suspended. "This is not, and must not, be an issue of politics. It is an issue of human rights, including equality, inclusion, acceptance, and equity."

O'Brien said the school district will form a committee to prepare recommendations concerning race and inclusiveness that the "entire community can get behind," the MLive report said.

As Breitbart News reported, in June the Mona Shores Public Schools Board of Education, of Norton Shores, voted to approve the resolution that states its community is
"a primarily white school district" that "occurred as a result of endemic racist housing policies, restrictive covenants, and intentional urban planning that prevented people of color from even entering white spaces in response to a nationwide movement" that "has arisen to assert that Black Lives Matter.

"Mona Shores Public Schools seeks to address institutionalized racism in our schools and community. The killing of unarmed Black men and women has left young people searching for answers to incredibly complicated and infuriating questions."

New poll indicates 15 point swing: Most Americans now hostile to Black Lives Matter, a losing election issue

A new Associated Press poll finds that there has been a massive 15 point swing and that most Americans are now hostile to Black Lives Matter protests.
"The poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research finds that 44% of Americans disapprove of protests in response to police violence against Black Americans, while 39% approve. In June, 54% approved. The new survey was conducted Sept. 11-14, before Wednesday's announcement that a lone Louisville police officer would be charged in the Taylor case, but not for her actual death."
The figures are also interesting when broken down along racial lines.

Just 35% of white Americans approve of the protests, down from 53% back in June. Just Latinos, 31% approve, compared with 44% in June.

Support for BLM amongst African-Americans has also dropped from 81% to 63%.

Portland police shove protester who previously rammed them with wheelchair, as church burning provokes speculation

Portland was subjected to more protests overnight, as activists and agitators, including one man in a wheelchair, faced off against police. Elsewhere in the city, a church caught fire, prompting speculation as to the culprits.

There were at least 30 arrests in Portland over the weekend - for violent conduct, assaults on police officers, and rioting - despite mainstream media reports continuing to describe the rallies as "fairly calm" and "largely peaceful."

On Sunday night, a protester in a wheelchair was filmed arguing with police, who responded with force and pushed the man back to the sidewalk. The encounter prompted outrage in some online quarters and mockery in others.

Comment: Meanwhile, Seattle's cohort of Antifa thugs threaten the return of CHAZ:
Protesters ignited barricades on Capitol Hill, reminiscent of the woebegone days of the 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone' or 'CHAZ' (later renamed 'CHOP'), which lasted for three weeks before widespread violence forced the authorities to intervene and dismantle it on July 1.

The self-declared 'autonomous zone' sprang up following nationwide protests over the killing of Minneapolis, Minnesota resident George Floyd, who died while in police custody. Demonstrators sealed off several streets near the police's East Precinct after law enforcement abandoned the building. Although initially praised for its festive mood, the area quickly descended into anarchy, with crime and violence becoming especially bad at night.

As police moved in to raze its lookalike, they were pelted with projectiles.

"Crowd has also begun throwing bottles and rocks at officers," SPD tweeted shortly after it ordered the protesters to disperse.

Police eventually succeeded in scattering the crowds and putting out the fires, saying that the arrests were made in connection with "assaults and property damage."
The Proud Boys showed up to add to the chaos in Portland:
A Proud Boys protest in Portland resulted in brawls with counter-demonstrators and media. Police made three arrests and later confiscated weapons from the right-wing group.

An estimated 1,000 people attended Saturday's rally in a north Portland park. Footage from RT's Ruptly video agency shows demonstrators reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, praying, and listening to speeches given from an American flag-draped stage. Some of the protesters, clad in body armor and tactical helmets, were filmed marching as they chanted "F**k Antifa!"

The right-wing group also engaged in shouting matches with counter-demonstrators and media, with some of the verbal exchanges ending in physical violence.

Footage shows a man being shoved to the ground and kicked in the face. In another incident, someone who was filming the event was assaulted by a Proud Boys member.

As the rally ended, Portland Police stopped one vehicle and confiscated shields, baseball bats, paintball guns, and other weapons. In total, police made three arrests during the rally and counter-protest. Law enforcement said they were investigating a case of assault.
And in El Cahon, California, a cathedral was vandalized, the latest in several attacks across the country:
St. Peter's Chaldean Catholic Cathedral in El Cajon, California said in a statement on Facebook that it had fallen victim to a graffiti attack. Video footage posted by the cathedral showed numerous symbols and slogans spray-painted on the building.

In a magnanimous message, the church urged its congregation to pray for the perpetrators of the defilement as well as for Christians in Iraq. "This morning our beloved Cathedral was defaced with pentagrams, upside down crosses, white power, swastikas, BLM, etc. It reminds us to pray for my brethren in Iraq that are facing persecution. Pray for the criminals who did this," it said.

The incident is the latest in a string of attacks at Catholic churches in the United States in recent months. Earlier this week, a church in Florida fell victim to an arson attack, while in Texas, a man armed with a baseball bat damaged icons at a seminary.

The supply chain is breaking and food shortages are getting worse

empty store shelves
If you are a reader of this site, you might be more interested in the food supply chain than most, at least when things are good. So, if you have been paying attention recently, you might find that there have been some severe disturbances in that supply chain.

Several months ago, the immediate disruptions began at the beginning of the COVID-19 hysteria, when factories, distribution centers, and even farms shut down under the pretext of "flattening the curve."

As a result, Americans found necessities were missing on the shelves for the first time in years. Items like hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes were, of course, out of stock.

Soon other items became noticeably missing as well.

People began to notice meat, and even canned vegetables and rice were soon missing from the shelves. Most of this was simply the result of mass panic buying, although "preppers" were blamed for "hoarding." Therefore, people who had not been prepping all along and were suddenly caught with their pants down. But that's not the whole story.

Comment: The confluence of events having an influence over the food supply chain is something to behold. Adding to the political, social and environmental influences we'll also see economic woes that effect the value and purchasing power of money - that is sure to take have an impact as inflation inevitably hits greater heights. Prepare what you can, while you still can.
