Russian Embassy ridicules Pulitzer Board for awarding prize to NYT's 'undiluted fabrications'

The New York Times' staff have won a prestigious Pulitzer Prize for "exposing the predations of Vladimir Putin's regime." Russia, however, says the paper made it up.

The Pulitzer Prize Board loves a good yarn about Russia, and the New York Times certainly feeds their appetite. 2017 saw the paper score an award for reporting on the Kremlin's online "troll army;" while 2018 saw it honored for reporting on Russia's "interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign" - even though these allegations were flimsily sourced and in many cases found false, even by Special Counsel Robert Mueller's 'Russiagate' investigators.

Wisconsin sued for virus measures that limit religious worship

Two Wisconsin residents are claiming in a lawsuit that the state's "Safer at Home" social distancing order violates their constitutional rights by effectively banning religious worship and political gatherings while allowing "hundreds of customers into Costco at any given time."

The public safety measures -- put in place to stem the rate of infections and deaths in Wisconsin during the coronavirus pandemic -- are overly intrusive and "cannot survive even basic scrutiny," according to a complaint filed Monday with the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The suit follows similar complaints that have met with success in Kentucky and Illinois and comes a day after the U.S. Justice Department filed a statement supporting a Virginia church. In that case, the church has challenged an April 5 criminal citation it received after holding a service for 16 worshipers in a space that can accommodate 225 people. President Donald Trump has supported a number of protests against such regulations, urging demonstrators to "liberate" their states.

Large crowd of protesters gathers in front of Mass. State House demanding reopening of economy

A large crowd of protesters gathered outside the Massachusetts State House on Monday afternoon calling on Gov. Charlie Baker to reopen the economy.

Dubbed the "Liberty Rally," the event was planned to take place if Baker didn't reopen nonessential businesses on May 1. Baker's business order, along with his stay-at-home advisory, was initially set to be lifted on May 4 but was extended last week to May 18, as efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus continue. The protest was promoted by Jeffrey Kuhner, a conservative radio host, and on the website for "Super Happy Fun America," which organized the controversial "Straight Pride Parade" in Boston last year.

It was slated to begin at 2 p.m. "to demand that the Governor and his minions let the people get back to work," according to its website.

Hoisting banners and signs with slogans such as "All jobs are essential" and "Open business, close Baker," the protesters were corralled by police on opposite ends of the main road near the state house to keep traffic flowing, however a section of the street was eventually closed down for the rally.

The event was organized by conservative activists, namely radio host Jeffrey Kuhner, who addressed the crowd warning that "America is committing national suicide" with the lockdown measures, which have thrown tens of millions of citizens out of work across dozens of states.
I see churches closed, I see an economic collapse, thousands of businesses bankrupt and shuttered - all of this for a lousy virus? For a contagious flu at the absolute worse? This Is not a pandemic.
Reporters covering the rally noted that few of the demonstrators wore masks or practiced social distancing, a fact that drew criticism from some netizens, who said the protesters were putting others at risk. A state-wide mask requirement will take effect on Wednesday, mandating that all residents wear face coverings while in public, including at outdoor parks.

Massachusetts joins a long line of states where residents have grown wary of the sweeping quarantine measures, with similar protests erupting in Michigan, California, Wisconsin, Texas, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, among others. The angry demonstrations come after wide swaths of the US economy were shut down under the lockdowns, prompting some 30 million Americans to file for unemployment benefits since mid March.

Facing the Covid-19 pandemic, the US Congress rammed through the CARES Act — which economist Michael Hudson explains is not a "bailout" but a massive, $6 trillion giveaway to Wall Street, banks, large corporations, and stockholders.

Max Blumenthal and Ben Norton discuss the enormous financial scam with Hudson, who reveals how the economy actually works, with the Federal Reserve printing money so rich elites don't lose their investments.

Ultra-rich buy 'Pandemic Passports' to move to safer countries

Wealthy travelers have been playing a game of "beat the ban" as countries have closed their borders to try to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Getting it wrong can be very expensive, as one British couple recently learned. The pair bought two £10,000 ($12,000) first-class tickets to escape from London to Barbados, but they were so worried that British Airways would axe its service that they paid £100,00 ($125,000) to charter a private jet instead. (BA carried on flying.)

Now the super-rich are buying the ultimate insurance policy to make sure they will be able to travel to whatever virus-free, sunny bolt-hole they choose, if a second spike in Covid-19 infections triggers another global lockdown. The world's wealthiest are snapping up multiple citizenships in countries around the world.

Henley & Partners, a London-based citizenship broker, is one of the biggest players in the nearly $4 billion-a-year "identity management" business (a.k.a. "passports for sale"). The firm's latest figures show a 42 percent year-over-year increase in the number of people filing a formal application for a new nationality during the first three months of 2020. The number of inquiries is up by 25 percent.

Hate crimes against Chinese people in the UK have soared during the coronavirus outbreak, new police figures have revealed.

At least 267 offences were recorded in the first three months of 2020 during the COVID-19 crisis - including assaults, robberies, harassment and criminal damage.

Victims described being punched, spat at and coughed on in the street as well as being verbally abused about coronavirus after the first case was reported in China.

Comment: Seems the coronavirus is making everyone racist: Viral racist treatment of Africans in China sparks Twitter outrage
April 17: New outrage as new Chinese racist video trends

As China continues diplomatic efforts to quell a recent surge in protests by African governments and the African Union, AU, there is a new round of outrage on social media after a new visibly racist video was posted on Twitter on Friday.

The 38-second video has since gone viral on the social media platform. It shows Chinese officials masked and with temperature guns blocking a black woman from entering a mall.

The video originally posted on TikTok by a user @claudi405 had a series of caption amongst which were "This is the treatment black people get in China now, they were not allowed to get inside of the shopping mall."

As the blacks are stopped from entering a white shopper walks past the security, another white shopper tries to intervene but fails. "Chinese government says black people are not welcome, because they the cause of the corona virus," another caption read.

The location and date of the video is not readily known. But the video feeds into the recent outrage in southern China's Guangzhou where Africans were reportedly forcibly evicted and in some cases quarantined and tested for COVID-19.

April 14: China says 111 Africans test positive for coronavirus

The vice mayor also confirmed that a total of 4,553 African people in the city had undergone nucleic acid testing since April 4. Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province had made news headlines after a number of Africans were evicted from their places of lodging amid reports of racist abuse related to coronavirus.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday admitted receipt of complaints by African governments that foreigners of African appearance in the city of Guangzhou were being subjected to forceful testing for the coronavirus, quarantines and ill treatment. U.S. diplomats also reported that Africa-Americans had been targeted.

The statement read in part: "During our fight against the coronavirus, the Chinese government has been attaching great importance to the life and health of foreign nationals in China. All foreigners are treated equally. We reject differential treatment, and we have zero tolerance for discrimination.

April 12: African nations berate China over COVID-19 linked racism in Guangzhou

African officials are confronting China publicly and in private over racist mistreatment of Africans in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, and the U.S. says African-Americans have been targeted too.

Some Africans in the commercial hub have reported being evicted or discriminated against amid coronavirus fears. And a U.S. Embassy security alert on Saturday said that "police ordered bars and restaurants not to serve clients who appear to be of African origin," and local officials have launched mandatory testing and self-quarantine for "anyone with 'African contacts.'"

That's in response to a rise in virus infections in Guangzhou, the U.S. said, adding that "African-Americans have also reported that some businesses and hotels refuse to do business with them." The U.S. statement is titled "Discrimination against African-Americans in Guangzhou."

The failed experiment of social distancing

The history of science, sadly, is littered with bad experiments gone horribly wrong. The Great Social Distancing Experiment of 2020, when it is over, will very likely be toward the top of that list.

After a two-month trial, researchers are collecting early outcomes of the Great American Social Distancing Experiment of 2020.

The results, to say the least, ain't pretty — and the "experts" who initiated this experiment on 330 million well-meaning but unwitting test subjects are starting to admit failure.

"Wait. An experiment?" you may ask. But we have been assured by the credentialed class that keeping a distance of six feet between healthy people for weeks on end was the only tried-and-true way to prevent the deadly spread of the novel coronavirus. No way would the government shutter public schools and colleges for five months, bankrupt small businesses, send tens of millions to the unemployment line, jeopardize the nation's food supply chain, prevent children from comforting dying parents and grandparents, and subject their fellow countrymen to soul-crushing house arrest for the first time in U.S. history if the so-called "social distancing" guidance hadn't been carefully vetted over time, you might insist.

Top UK journalist Craig Murray blocked by Facebook after criticizing Israel

craig murray censorred

Murray is a heavy-hitter in the alternative media with huge credibility. The former UK ambassador and ally of Julian Assange writes mostly for his personal blog, which averages about 1.5 million views per month, an astonishing amount, eclipsing most mainstream pundits. Obviously people appreciate what he has to say. Facebook doesn't.

On April 23rd, the great independent investigative journalist, Craig Murray — a former British diplomat — headlined at his blog, "Condemned By Their Own Words", and he posted there the translated-to-English transcript (excerpted below) to this Israeli radio Hebrew broadcast on April 21st, in which an Israeli Brigadier-General, named Fogel, explained why Israel's troops are doing the right thing to shoot and even to kill Gazans who come (an unspecified) too close to the wall which separates Israel from Gaza:

52 years ago, a pandemic flu killed 100,000 in the US and nothing shut down—not even Woodstock

hong kong flu headline
Mainstream media across the planet continue to refer to the COVID-19 outbreak as the worst pandemic since the Spanish flu of 1918. We are told that the economy shut down during the Spanish flu and people were ordered into quarantine, but it couldn't stop the death toll from reaching 650,000 Americans. Now, the government has made harsh and sweeping regulations, shut down entire sections of the US economy, largely based on a model from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), which says roughly 72,000 Americans will die from COVID-19.

No one here is claiming that this virus is not serious and should not be taken serious. However, it is our duty as a free people to question the nature of the government's reaction, especially when the economic ramifications could be far deadlier than the virus itself — with experts predicting a famine of biblical proportion that could kill millions.

When the virus passes and the suffering continues to persist, a lot of people will be asking the question, "was all of this worth it?"

Best of the Web: Covid-19, mandatory vaccination and the rationalization of tyranny

dave cullen tyranny covid-19
Dave Cullen of Computing Forever lays out 'the plan' globalists have for the entire human population. Once thought to be 'conspiracy theory', he presents the documents and statements made by key figures proving that it is very much fact, and analyzes the 'corona world order' being rolled out globally before our very eyes.

The lynchpin of the new system is that we are all currently being 'held at syringe-point' by governments and global institutions demanding that, unless we accept some new 'coronavirus vaccine', we will not be 'set free from lockdown'. Cullen concludes by asking: what happens if and when people do not accept this 'offer'; will most rationalize tyranny?
