Ravers at an underground, curfew-busting New Year's Eve party that drew at least 2,500 people in western France attacked the police sent to shut them down, torching one police vehicle and injuring officers with volleys of bottles and stones, officials said Friday.

Ravers aboard hundreds of vehicles started converging on a hangar in Lieuron, Brittany, on Thursday night to party into the New Year, the regional government said Friday. It said police were attacked when they tried to stop ravers from installing their party gear.

On Friday morning, 2,500 ravers from France and abroad were still partying, circled by a reinforced police presence, the regional government said.

Comment: And in London police were also deployed to shutdown NYE parties:

A post is turning heads and showing new levels of woke madness as a woman claims her sister wants to name her son Adolph so he doesn't take away opportunities from "marginalized communities."

"My sister is trying to name her son Adolph," a user wrote on Reddit, then explaining her sister is seven months pregnant and wants to name her son after Adolf Hitler so "he can experience what other kids from less privileged backgrounds experience."

The user explained her sister is not a Nazi and then posted a message from her that dove deeper into the reasoning behind the "problematic" name.

More than 1 in 3 Americans believe a 'deep state' is working to undermine Trump

department of the deep state
According to a recent NPR/Ipsos poll, a strong majority of Americans are concerned about the spread of false information and specifically that information they receive on social media is not accurate. However, there are also signs that recent misinformation, including false claims related to COVID-19 and QAnon, are gaining a foothold among some Americans.

Detailed Findings

The American public is deeply concerned about the spread of false information and are particularly concerned about COVID-19-related misinformation.
  • More than eight in ten (83%) say they are concerned about the spread of false information, and a majority (54%) report being very concerned.
  • Eighty percent are specifically concerned about the spread of false information about the coronavirus and vaccines.
  • More than two-thirds are concerned both that the information they receive on social media is not accurate (69%), and also about foreign interference in social media (67%).

Comment: Once again, the bastions of truth are "disturbed" by the number of people who don't believe their lies. We suppose it would be disturbing for NPR to get undeniable evidence that they suck at their jobs.

Twisted priorities: Salon laments Pornhub purging rape and sexual abuse videos from site for 'destroying the livelihoods of thousands of pornographers'

Porn Hub website

Earlier in December the internet pornography site Pornhub announced that it would be purging its site of certain material and deleting users and uploads from non-verified accounts, along with restricting downloads.

This announcement came after the New York Times published a column detailing the sexual abuse, specifically of children, that was being filmed and distributed on the, unfortunately, extremely popular website. The details of the stories reported by the New York Times are beyond disturbing and tragic, and I won't detail them here, you can read the full story yourself.

The Canada-based pornography site responded to public pressure after this article and has, at least publicly, made moves that show they are going to reform their policies to prevent the distribution of that kind of content. Some are skeptical about trusting Pornhub, given their willingness to exploit and profit from sexual assault for years.

An oncologist has lifted the crushing weight of medical debt off the shoulders of almost 200 cancer patients in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Dr. Omar Atiq founded the Arkansas Cancer Institute in 1991 and his clinic recently sent out a special holiday greeting to his patients, according to Fox 16.

The letter read:
I hope this note finds you well. The Arkansas Cancer Clinic was proud to serve you as a patient. Although various health insurances pay most of the bills for majority of patients, even the deductibles and co-pays can be burdensome. Unfortunately, that is the way our health care system currently works. Arkansas Cancer Clinic is closing its practice after over 29 years of dedicated service to the community. The clinic has decided to forego all balances owed to the clinic by its patients. Happy Holidays.
Dr. Atiq said because this year has been so challenging, it brings him great joy to help his patients with their finances.

Native American and former marine tased after walking off park path

A Native American man who was taking a stroll with his sister was tased by a park ranger in New Mexico after stepping off the walking trail on a national park, according to video released Tuesday.

Former Marine and member of the Oneida and Navajo tribes, Darrell House and his sister had gone for a walk Sunday afternoon with their dog at the Petroglyph National Monument where House often comes to pray and meditate. House saw a group of incoming walkers and stepped off the trail in order to practice social distancing, NBC News reported.

In a nine-minute video posted on the National Park Service website, body camera footage shows the park ranger approaching House and his sister to tell them why he wants them to remain on the trail. House walks away several times during the discussion before the ranger tases him.

Revolt at RFE/RL: US propaganda outfit denounces boss as partisan, claims he threatens their 'freedom and independence'

Editors and section chiefs at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty have sent a letter to Congress claiming their agency head is threatening their journalistic autonomy and stellar reputation, both of which are dubious concepts at best.

The actions of Michael Pack, head of the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), are "intended to revoke RFE/RL's financial autonomy" and "embed" his appointees within the service's board of directors for two years, in an "unprecedented departure" from its tradition of working with changing administrations, says the letter dated Wednesday, which was leaked to CNBC and made public on Thursday.

Pack's actions "will compromise the freedom from political influence that for seven decades has characterized [RFE/RL] as an independent surrogate news organization for countries with no free press of their own," adds the letter, signed by Editor-in-Chief Daisy Sindelar, six other executives, and 21 heads of different language services.

Comment: News wars are won in the minds of the readers, especially those who trust too freely, believe too easily. For them, 'truth' magically appears and reputation doesn't matter.

Census bureau to miss deadline, jeopardizes Trump plan

The Census Bureau plans to announce it will miss a year-end deadline for handing in numbers used for divvying up congressional seats.

That delay could undermine President Donald Trump's efforts to exclude people in the country illegally from the count if the figures aren't turned in before President-elect Joe Biden takes office.

It will be the first time that the Dec. 31 target date is missed since the deadline was implemented more than four decades ago by Congress.

Internal documents obtained earlier this month by a House committee show that Census Bureau officials don't see the apportionment numbers being ready until days after Biden is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

Once in office, Biden could rescind Trump's presidential memorandum directing the Census Bureau to exclude people in the country illegally from numbers used for divvying up congressional seats among the states. An influential GOP adviser had advocated excluding them from the apportionment process, to the advantage of Republicans and non-Hispanic whites.

Comment: Of course Biden will rescind the memo. Democrats notoriously support illegal aliens with resources and voter rights to reap a benefit at the polls.
