'You'd have to kill me first': Jordan Peterson slams Trudeau's call for booster shots

Popular Canadian psychologist and cultural commentator Jordan Peterson blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's pre-Christmas message that said people should put COVID "booster" jabs on their "shopping" list.

On December 22, Trudeau had tweeted, "If you're taking care of some last-minute Christmas shopping this week, here's something else you can add to your list: a booster. If you're eligible for one but haven't gotten it yet, please, do so now. And if you don't have your first or second dose, now's the time to get it."

Peterson, who has had the jabs but has since regretted taking them, made clear he would not be getting a booster. He fired back at Trudeau's suggesting that a COVID jab should somehow be part of a shopping list.

"Up yours @JustinTrudeau. Seriously. You'd have to kill me first," tweeted Peterson on Christmas Eve in response to Trudeau's tweet.

Peterson admitted he made a "stupid" decision to get the COVID jabs because he thought doing so would mean the government would leave him "alone."

The Government on Wednesday published the evidence informing its recent controversial decision to recommend all secondary school pupils wear face masks in classrooms.

The new document from the Department for Education (DfE) explains that the decision "has been taken on the recommendation of UKHSA and is based on a range of evidence". It says the Government has "balanced education and public health considerations, including the benefits in managing infection and transmission, against any educational and wider health and wellbeing impacts from the recommended use of face coverings".

While conceding that the "direct COVID-19 health risks to children and young people are very low" - and rejecting SAGE's advice to recommend masks in primary school classrooms (yes, really) - it claims that "the balance of risks for secondary classrooms has changed at this point in time, in accordance with the evolving evidence and the phase of the pandemic".

The document summarises its evidence as follows:
Face coverings can be effective in contributing to reducing transmission of COVID-19 in public and community settings. This is informed by a range of research, including randomised control trials, contact tracing studies, and observational studies - assessed most recently by UKHSA, described in a review conducted in November 2021. The review's conclusions were broadly in line with those of a previous Public Health England review; however, the addition of randomised control trials and substantially more individual-level observational studies increases the strength of the conclusions and strengthens the evidence for the effectiveness of face coverings in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in the community, through source control, wearer protection, and universal masking.

The Republican Party needs to send Alvin Bragg a fruit basket — and do so every day for the next four years.

The newly sworn-in Manhattan district attorney has just made the largest in-kind contribution to the GOP in modern history in the form of the already-notorious memo he sent to his underlings announcing how his office would handle its caseload.

Simply put, Bragg's approach is to pretend crime isn't crime, that criminals aren't criminals and that punishing people for breaking the law is bad. Basically, unless someone murders someone else, Bragg is going to try to keep convicted criminals out of jail.

Perhaps I should go into the details of this document or offer some earnest arguments against Bragg's policy decision to downgrade felonies like armed robbery into misdemeanors — acts his office will then refuse to ask a judge to punish with "carceral" action.

I will forbear, though, because Bragg does not deserve to be engaged in this manner. This is psychotic policy, and you can't argue psychotics out of psychosis. It is the culmination of decades of bizarre theories that seek to explain away anti-social, harmful and violent behaviors by treating them as though they constitute a rational response to difficult life conditions.

On Thursday another flight load of illegal aliens boarded a plane in El Paso. Forget about proper identification or COVID-19 vaccines, these people are held to a different standard when compared to the average American. Busses carry the illegals straight to the tarmac where their flight is waiting. Below illegal aliens wait to load onto a flight from the border to a city that Joe Biden wants to keep secret.

During a general audience at the Vatican, he said: "Today ... we see a form of selfishness. We see that some people do not want to have a child. Sometimes they have one, and that's it, but they have dogs and cats that take the place of children. This may make people laugh but it is a reality."

Comment: The irony is that people will have children solely for selfish reasons.

Violators in Philippines' capital can expect to be fined, jailed, or both

Authorities in the Philippines' capital of Manila have banned the unvaccinated from leaving their homes save for buying essentials, going to work and doing exercise. Violators will be slapped with hefty fines, jail time, or both.

The decision, which affects around 14 million individuals living in Metro Manila, was announced on January 3. Under the new regulations, those who have not received two doses of Covid vaccine are to stay home, with only a few exemptions granted: buying necessities and seeking medical help, going to work, and doing outdoor exercise near their place of residence. Those working in an office have to take a Covid test every two weeks at their own expense. Such tests reportedly cost $100 or more in some cases.

Comment: Duerte is threatening the unvaccinated with prison time for breaking stay-at-home rules.
On Thursday, daily Covid cases in the Philippines hit their highest level since September, with 17,220 new infections recorded, according to the health ministry.

That daily case number is more than triple the number recorded earlier in the week, with the country having experienced the second-highest number of Covid infections of any state in Southeast Asia. Officials stated that most of the new cases were caused by the spread of the Omicron variant.

Duterte has previously been vocal about his anger at anti-vaxxers, warning last year that, if people refuse to get jabbed, they could face prison time or a forced injection of Ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug that, among other things, is used to treat animals.


Good grief. Treatment with Ivermectin plus hydroxychloroquine, is exactly what's needed.


"If he refuses, if he goes out of his house and goes around the community, he can be restrained. If he refuses, the captain is empowered now to arrest recalcitrant persons," Duterte said, referring to those who fail to get vaccinated.

At the end of 2021, government figures showed that 49.8 million individuals in the Philippines were fully vaccinated. That number is less than half of the country's 110 million-strong population.

Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas , on Tuesday released a letter announcing his intention to sue the federal government for what he claimed is an unconstitutional vaccine mandate for the Texas National Guard.

"As the commander-in-chief of Texas's militia, I have issued a straightforward order to every member of the Texas National Guard within my chain of command: Do not punish any guardsman for choosing not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine," Abbott wrote in the letter, which was addressed to Maj. Gen. Tracy Norris, Adjutant General of the Texas Military Department.

"Unless President Biden federalizes the Texas National Guard in accordance with Title 10 of the U.S. Code, he is not your commander-in-chief under our federal or state Constitutions. And as long as I am your commander-in-chief, I will not tolerate efforts to compel receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine," Abbott continued.

On Thursday, Science, one of the top scientific publications in the world, ran a letter titled, "Transgender rights rely on inclusive language," suggesting that biological sex is "context-dependent" and not binary.

If you had to go back and re-read that last sentence, let me assure you, you did indeed read it correctly. The letter — authored by two neuroscientists and a graduate student in biology — argues for "inclusive language around sex diversity," and that, in the five years since the National Institutes of Health announced that research proposals should include sex as a biological variable, society has become hostile to transgender people.

The NIH's directive was originally instated to address the fact that biomedical studies including only male participants lacked application to women. Pre-Clown World, this would be uncontroversial. But behold the pathway of thinking social justice ideology has plowed while I mourn my former field of neuroscience.

A pair of Arizona State University students have unleashed a nine minute diatribe after they were disciplined for taunting two white male students who entered the college's multicultural space.

On Monday, Mastaani Qureshi, an undergraduate and Sarra Tekola a graduate student posted a video on social media alleging ASU had carried out an investigation into their actions and called for them to write a three-page paper over the September 2021 incident.

In the video posted in response to the University's punishment Qureshi and Tekola claim the investigation into their actions was 'racially biased' adding they were 'forced to confront these men', because, in their view, the ASU faculty allegedly refused to answer their cries for help.
