Canadian Brainwashing Corporation touts compliance over science

The CBC (the Canadian Brainwashing Corporation) published an article about Saturday's lockdown protest in Ottawa. It heralds with this ironic deck: "Online misinformation about pandemic safety measures thriving."
Ironic, because CBC's website has been one of the most abhorrent purveyor of misinformation regarding the COVID-19 "pandemic."

The article demonstrates the CBC's lack of journalistic integrity by describing the protesters as "venting their frustrations over science-backed measures designed to slow the spread of COVID-19."

Notice how they said "science-backed" instead of "evidence-based"? Science-backed could simply mean a scientist with a theory. It's a careful choice of words considering that the evidence shows that COVID-19 is no worse than the flu, and "safety" measures are ineffective and far from safe.

Furthermore, why would it make people more safe if we "slow the spread," as they say? Clearly, hospitals in Canada are nowhere near maximum capacity. COVID patients are not overflowing into emergency tent clinics.

According to Health Canada only 2,335 people in a country of 37 million were admitted to ICU. Which is an interesting number, considering that we (apparently) have had 9,120 deaths from COVID-19. That means that 75% of those who died from COVID never received the coveted care we are being forced to social distance for.

Wealthy, white NYC college student, 20, among eight arrested for rioting, vandalism

Arrested for 'causing $100,000 worth of damage to businesses in Manhattan during BLM rampage'

A wealthy college student is among the eight people arrested on rioting charges after participants in a Black Lives Matter protest went on a rampage in Manhattan, causing some $100,000 in damage to businesses.

Clara Kraebber, 20, was among those arrested after the vandalism spree on Friday in the Flatiron District, where demonstrators were protesting over the death of Daniel Prude in upstate Rochester.

All were charged with rioting, and some were additionally charged with weapons and burglary tool possession.

Comment: The New York Post adds:
[..] Kraebber has joined in street protests for years before allegedly taking part in Friday night's march.

She is now facing a maximum of four years in prison on her top charge of first-degree riot.

"We don't have much political power right now, being youths, but this is something we can do," she told the New York Times in 2014, explaining why she joined a Manhattan rally on behalf of Ferguson, Missouri, police-shooting casualty Michael Brown.

She was a 14-year-old student at the elite Hunter College High School at the time.

Now she is a history undergrad at Rice University in Houston, according to her Facebook page โ€” where the most recent photo, from June, shows her grinning from ear to ear while holding a goat.

As a member of the Rice Young Democrats, she helped work on Beto O'Rourke's failed 2018 bid to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz. She donated $121 to the Rice Young Democrats PAC.

"Does Beto make you feel this way too??? THEN GO VOTE!!!" she captioned a Facebook photo showing her looking up, earnestly, at the candidate.
And there you have it. Ms. Kraebber has been the subject of the multi-decade program of radical identity politics indoctrination that infests elite higher education. And now she will (possibly) bear the brunt of its consequences. More reportage on the riot:

Curfew imposed on 40 towns in Israel, former defense minister urges public to DEFY orders

Many in Israel chose to ignore regulations that were imposed to contain the spread of the disease, thinks a deputy director-general of the nation's largest hospital. Now, when the situation is spiralling out of control, he says local lockdowns are a must together with the reinforcement of the police and the IDF.

After back and forth discussions and multiple threats to impose a full lockdown on cities labelled as red, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to alter the recommendations of the country's coronavirus cabinet, established with the aim of curbing the spread of the deadly virus.

Instead of imposing a full lockdown on over 30 cities and towns, the PM, who faced harsh criticism from several Ultra-Orthodox mayors, whose communities were supposed to be put under quarantine, finally decided to stick to a number of other measures.

Comment: RT reports on former defense minster and party leader Avigdor Liberman's comments :
Toning down the planned restrictions did not spare the government from criticism, as the partial 'lockdown' immediately came under fire from proponents of both harsher and lighter measures. Liberman, the leader of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, for instance, said Israeli citizens have effectively become "hostages" of the cabinet, and called its decisions "blatantly illegal."

"The government has lost the public trust and it does not deserve it," Liberman stated. "The coronavirus cabinet must be abolished."

"I suggest the public act in accordance with common sense and not in accordance with government guidelines."

His remarks sparked an angry reaction from government officials, who rushed to defend their decision. Health Minister Yuli Edelstein lashed out at the politician, accusing him of inciting the public against the government and "playing with fire."

"Lieberman is acting negligently and irresponsibly, taking advantage of a fragile situation. From a health and economic point of view, it is a shame," he said.

A similar response came from Alternate Prime Minister Benny Gantz, who accused certain politicians of using the coronavirus crisis for their personal political gains instead of striving for the common good.

"I hear politicians say not to adhere to decisions and I call upon them to safeguard the public and not themselves. I hear those making irresponsible declarations for political reasons," Gantz said. "The public is looking at us, at our conflicts and our ego struggles, and they expect us to put aside our personal interests and deal with the coronavirus."

The spread of coronavirus has accelerated in Israel recently, with the total number of confirmed cases surging past the 131,000 mark and the death toll surpassing 1,000. While the numbers are arguably small compared to the worst-affected countries, they are quite alarming for the nation with a population of 8.8 million - especially since the daily spread has reached well over 1,000 cases.

Worldwide, the number of coronavirus cases has surpassed 27 million and nearly 900,000 people have already succumbed to the disease. The US, India and Brazil remain the worst-hit nations, accounting for about a half of cases globally.
The contradictory actions of countries is rather curious, because while some are reimposing lockdowns others are providing ample evidence as to why they were a grave mistake:

The 7,000-acre El Dorado Fire was started by a gender reveal party's pyrotechnic device, officials in California shared on Sunday night. The fire started on September 5 and quickly spread, leading to numerous evacuations. This is one of many fires currently burning in California.

Here's what you need to know:

Smoke From a Pyrotechnic Device Started the Fire on September 5

In an Instagram post, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) shared that a pyrotechnic device used at a gender reveal party was the source of the blaze. Cal Fire's San Bernardino Unit reported:
CAL FIRE Law Enforcement has determined the El Dorado Fire, burning near Oak Glen in San Bernardino County, was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device, used during a gender reveal party. The fire began at 10:23 am on September 5, 2020 in the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa. The fire spread from the park to the north on to Yucaipa Ridge that separates Mountain Home Village and Forest Falls from the City of Yucaipa.
The fire started off Oak Glen Road and Potato Canyon Road, west of Oak Glen in San Bernardino County, and grew quickly because of the heat and dry weather.

According to Cal Fire, the fire is now 7,050 acres in size and only 5% contained.

Comment: California's governor has declared an emergency due to the fires.

It's now looking like the lockdowns may have been a huge mistake - New York Post

Times square empty
An empty Times Square
Were lockdowns a mistake? To that nagging question, the answer increasingly seems to be yes.

Certainly, they were a novelty. As novelist Lionel Shriver writes, "We've never before responded to a contagion by closing down whole countries." As I've noted, the 1957-58 Asian flu killed between 70,000 and 116,000 Americans, between 0.04 percent and 0.07 percent of the nation's population. The 1968-70 Hong Kong flu killed about 100,000, 0.05 percent of the population.

The US coronavirus death toll of 186,000 is 0.055 percent of the current population. It will go higher, but it's about the same magnitude as those two flus, and it has been less deadly to those under 65 than the flus were. Yet there were no statewide lockdowns; no massive school closings; no closings of office buildings and factories, restaurants and museums. No one considered shutting down Woodstock.

Why are attitudes so different today? Perhaps we have greater confidence in government's effectiveness. If public policy can affect climate change, it can stamp out a virus.

Black Lives Matter marches continued across the US at the weekend, and during one particularly tense scene in Pittsburgh, a disgruntled activist quenched their thirst by chugging an elderly white bystander's beer.

The protester, modelling a "Nazi Lives Don't Matter" T-shirt, was part of a larger group which marched down Penn Ave on Saturday.

Eyewitness footage captured the moment the mob began berating outdoor diners outside the Sienna Mercato Italian restaurant during a protest march which was ironically dubbed "Civil Saturday."

Comment: Is there a more clear example of BLM's infantile sense of entitlement than this?

New Hampshire Democrats appointed a fake voter as 'elections inspector' last month, conservative investigator Project Veritas (PV) discovered - but liberals remain more concerned Trump supposedly told supporters to 'vote twice.'

West Lebanon, NH resident Vincent Marzello admitted to Project Veritas earlier this month that he "voted twice" in the 2016 election, in a video posted by the outlet on Thursday, returning to the polls in a wig and pretending to be a woman called "Helen Elizabeth Ashley." Not only was Marzello not initially prosecuted - despite getting caught by cops in the act of picking up "Helen's" phony voter ID - but "she" was even named an elections inspector by the state's Democratic Party in July, PV reported.

Ohio is getting a lot of attention lately for alleged legislator-lobbyist-utility corruption (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and also citizens taking action against state mandated COVID-19 orders (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Recently, another lawsuit has been filed by the latter.

Media freedom? Show me the MSM journalist opposing the torture of Assange

assange extradition trial
Today, the corporate media that cried "Media freedom" when Extinction Rebellion blocked the billionaire owned propaganda presses, is silent as Julian Assange's Calvary for bringing real truth unfiltered to the public moves on to its next station; the macabre Gothic architecture of the Old Bailey.

The Tories appeared remarkably tolerant in the days when Extinction Rebellion were causing general disruption to the public. But to threaten the interests of billionaire paymasters is something against which the entire political class will unite. At a time when the government is mooting designating Extinction Rebellion as Serious Organised Crime, right wing bequiffed muppet Keir Starmer was piously condemning the group, stating: "The free press is the cornerstone of democracy and we must do all we can to protect it."

It is surely time we stopped talking about "free press", as if it was Thomas Paine or William Cobbett distributing pamphlets. Print media is now the subject of phenomenonal ownership concentration. It broadcasts the propaganda of some very nasty billionaires to a shrinking audience of mostly old people. The same ownerships have of course moved in to TV and Radio and increasingly into new media, and have a political stranglehold over those who control state media. At the same time, the corporate gatekeepers of Facebook and Twitter purposefully strangle the flow of readers to independent online media. The idea of a "free press" as an open marketplace of democratic ideas has no real meaning in modern society, until anti-monopoly action is taken. Which is the last thing those in power will do.

Black militia, armed 'Patriots' & BLM protesters face off in Louisville on chaotic Kentucky Derby day

Hundreds of protesters from rival groups have descended on Louisville, with armed pro-police activists facing off with anti-racism protesters, as members of all-black NFAC militia staged yet another demonstration of force.

Dressed in black combat fatigues and carrying rifles, around 200 members of the Not F**king Around Coalition (NFAC) gathered in Louisville on Saturday. Having checked their weapons, they marched to a park just outside the Churchill Downs track, where they posed in formation, kneeled, and otherwise demonstrated their resolve to fight for racial justice.

Simultaneously, a large group of Black Lives Matter, Until Freedom, and other activists also marched to the track, chanting "No justice, no Derby," blasting the city for holding recreational and leisure "celebrations" while the country is gripped by "systemic racism."
