Farmers fired shots and carried 'Boer Lives Matter' signs as they stormed a court in eastern South Africa on Tuesday where two suspects were to appear before a judge over the brutal murder of a young farm manager.

Sekwetje Isaiah Mahlamba, 32, and Sekola Piet Matlaletsa, 44, who were arrested on Saturday, were at the Senekal Magistrate's Court in the Free State on Tuesday morning for a pre-trial hearing.

The two men are accused of killing Brendin Horner, 21, whose body was found on Friday at about 6am local time, tied to a pole at the farm he managed in the town of Paul Roux. He had sustained multiple wounds, and a knife was discovered nearby.

Facebook bans QAnon across its platforms

The change is a significant escalation over its previous actions targeting QAnon and one of the broadest rules the social media giant has put in place in its history.

Facebook said Tuesday that it is banning all QAnon accounts from its platforms, a significant escalation over its previous actions and one of the broadest rules the social media giant has put in place in its history.

Facebook said the change is an update on the policy it created in August that initially only removed accounts related to the QAnon conspiracy theory that discussed violence, which resulted in the termination of 1,500 pages, groups and profiles.

Comment: What most people fail to realize, especially the mainstream media, is that the vast majority of QAnon followers are harmless basement dwelling conspiracy enthusiasts, not dangerous militia members. Like with most things, this Facebook ban is about controlling the narrative, not about any clear and present threat to people's safety. This unlike Antifa and BLM, which have not been banned from any platforms.

Twitter, as could be expected, is divided on the issue:

New York Times, Rolling Stone, ABC, and CBS all DENIED motions to dismiss lawsuit brought by Covington teen Nick Sandmann

Nick Sandmann
Motions to dismiss defamation lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic teen Nick Sandmann against multiple left-wing news outlets were denied.

The New York Times, Rolling Stone, ABC News, and CBS News' motions to dismiss the lawsuit brought forward by the defamed teenager were rejected Thursday.

"Today marks another important step towards achieving justice against a media that thinks it has a license to smear," Sandmann told The Post Millennial.

Sandmann's defamation lawsuit against The Washington Post was initially dismissed. Sandmann's attorneys later amended the complaint, reopening the suit. In July, The Washington Post settled the lawsuit with an amount not disclosed to the public.

Round up the 'anti-vaxxers'? Enlist religious leaders? Bill Gates warns US needs to brainstorm ways to reduce 'vaccine hesitancy'

Bill Gates
© The Last American Vagabond
Billionaire software tycoon Bill Gates has urged the US to prepare for a Covid-19 vaccine rollout by deputizing trusted community leaders to "reduce vaccine hesitancy," bemoaning the rapid spread of "conspiracy theories" online.

The Microsoft founder-turned-vaccine-evangelist painted a mostly rosy picture of a vaccine rollout getting "rich countries" back to normal by the end of 2021 in an interview during the Wall Street Journal's CEO Council on Tuesday.

However, with less than half of Americans saying they'd get a Covid jab - even if paid $100 for it - in a recent survey, Gates then focused his talk on enlisting the nation's "trust network" to overcome the skeptics.

Lamenting that "vaccine hesitancy is in all countries and predates the pandemic," Gates suggested American health officials start "thinking about which voices will help reduce the hesitancy, so we can get a level of vaccination that really has a chance of stopping" the virus.

Gates provided the example of challenges the polio vaccine faced in some countries - and the cunning lengths some were willing to go to get their populations jabbed.

Comment: Interestingly, the FDA released stricter guidelines for the covid vaccine:
[...]

The agency released tighter standards for emergency coronavirus vaccine approval on Tuesday, almost certainly spoiling President Donald Trump's plan to have the jab rolled out for the public before Americans head to the polls on November 3. The White House had complained the new guidelines would unacceptably delay the much-anticipated vaccine and attempted to prevent their release for two weeks.

The new recommendations, which are not legally binding, strongly encourage manufacturers to follow patients for at least two months after their last jab in order to monitor any late-appearing adverse effects. They also advocate ensuring the immune response does not wear off rapidly, and potentially observing how inoculated patients respond to virus exposure. With Phase III trials ongoing for four of the vaccine candidates and a fifth set to enter Phase III this month, the recommended monitoring period would push approval into December - even if clinical trials concluded this week and no side-effects cropped up.

In addition to the extended monitoring period, manufacturers are advised to document five cases of severe Covid-19 infection in trial participants who received the placebo, ensuring participants' continued health isn't merely a product of their belief that they have been vaccinated.

The New York Times speculated that the guidelines had finally been released in response to a marked decline in public confidence in the jab, which many fear will be rushed, unsafe, or ineffective. A whopping two-thirds of Americans polled last month were unwilling to participate in the first round of immunizations, with a quarter saying they'd never get it and 44 percent adopting a "wait and see" approach.

That fraction has grown steadily over the last few months as Republicans and Democrats turned the vaccine into a political football. The FDA itself was accused of taking a political stance by billionaire vaccine evangelist Bill Gates, whose money is bankrolling the development and future manufacture of six vaccine candidates.

Facebook censors, Twitter flags yet another Trump post about covid-19

trump covid tweet
Facebook and Twitter have, unsurprisingly, bowed once again to pressure from the left.

Today, Facebook removed, and Twitter placed an interstitial, or filter, on a post from President Donald Trump in which he stated that COVID-19 is less lethal "in most populations" than the "Flu."

"Facebook has been criticized for not removing posts that violate community guidelines in a timely manner," said Axios, "yet the company sprung to action when Trump posted misinformation about the virus that 'could contribute to imminent physical harm.' Twitter took action about 30 minutes later."

Twitter's interstitial claimed that the tweet "violated the Twitter Rules about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public's interest for the Tweet to remain accessible." Although Twitter did not remove the tweet entirely, users must click "view" in order to see the tweet.

Chris Cuomo mocked as 'hypocrite' for MUTING Trump recovery 'propaganda' video & reminded he broke quarantine rules

CNN presenter Chris Cuomo was ripped for muting a clip of Donald Trump's return from hospital to the White House — and quickly reminded he'd published his own dramatic "re-entry"-to-life video after being diagnosed with Covid-19.

"This president is a walking lie," Cuomo announced in his Monday-night monologue, accusing Trump of irresponsible comments on the Covid-19 pandemic. He slammed footage of Trump's return to the White House and said he would not air it with audio because it was "propaganda" intended to project an image of strength.

"How much bullsh*t do you need in your life?" he asked viewers.

"He's not stronger than I am!" Cuomo added, referencing the time in April during which he, too, was sick with the virus. Twitter users were also more than happy to recall that time, reminding him of the reports he had broken quarantine rules back then.

Subject of Project Veritas report on alleged ballot harvesting in Minnesota says he was offered bribe and 'set up' - UPDATE: Project Veritas hits back

One of the men shown in the video that spurred a police investigation into alleged ballot harvesting in Minnesota is recounting his side of the story for the first time.

Liban Osman, who was caught boasting about the large number of ballots he had collected in a video that was released last month by the conservative investigative group Project Veritas, claimed that he was offered a $10,000 bribe by community activist Omar Jamal, according to Fox 9. A representative from the activist group denied the allegations of attempted bribery.

"He was setting me up," Osman, the brother of Minneapolis City Council member Jamal Osman, said of Omar Jamal in the report that was published Monday evening.

Comment: However the accusations fall out, it's clear that the state of elections in Minnesota is abysmal. Education on basic US civics and clean voter rolls would go a long way to helping, as Tom Fitton advises, but that would complicate things for Omar and other corrupt politicians. Even if Liban Osman is partway telling the truth, there was plenty of corroboration on illegal voting practices from other witnesses

More Covid-19 rebellion: Marseille demands its own advisory panel separate to Paris

A week after the French government ruffled feathers in France's second-largest city with an order to close restaurants and bars, Marseille officials have endorsed a call to form a scientific advisory panel unique to the city, separate from the national scientific council based in Paris.

During a city council meeting on Monday evening, Samia Ghali, deputy mayor for equality between territories, proposed a "scientific council for the city of Marseille".

"We no longer want to be dependent on figures of certain Parisian scientists," Ghali said in reference to the scientific council of experts appointed by the government in March to advise on policy decisions in response to the Covid-19 epidemic.

Caitlin Johnstone: WaPo publishes paranoid screed cautioning readers not to let Russia make them paranoid

"Russia and other adversaries may not need to hack the election if they can hack something else: our minds."

So begins a crazy, paranoid Washington Post editorial titled, "The U.S. may be safe from foreign interference in this election. But what about perception hacking?" cautioning readers not to let Russia make them crazy and paranoid.

"Perception hacking." Apparently this term is the latest fad for the elite liberal commentariat in the category of noises one can make with one's face in order to sound well-informed about Russian influence operations, from the same line as "kompromat," "dezinformatsiya," and "useful idiot."

Comment: They do it because they can. Until readership tanks and the public demands better (meaning they recognize the difference and actually care) sham news fulfills its purpose of feeding the clueless and locking the minds of its readership.

The Government will spend £170million of taxpayers' money on Amazon and other online store vouchers to coax people into a coronavirus study.

Four-hundred-thousand people will be asked to participate in the scheme with the incentive of a £50 gift voucher. The participants will be required to provide data on the virus, the Office for National Statistics [ONS] announced.

Each subject will be picked in a random mail shot and some will have the opportunity to receive £425 in gift cards to provide data for a year. The vouchers can be spent at retail outlets such as Amazon, John Lewis and TKMaxx.
